Job Purpose
The Director of Finance, Operations & Compliance will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, working to ensure the impact, sustainability, diligence and productivity of the organisation, with a commitment to organisational transformation within the framework of a values-led approach to people and culture.
Taking a lead on all financial, support and compliance activities, the role demands a combination of the hands-on approach needed in a medium-sized charity with the strong people management skills to enable all members of their team to deliver high quality services and to thrive in their roles.
Key responsibilities include:

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy, Planning and Control:

Accountable for organisational financial strategy, working with senior staff and trustees to ensure multi-year planning, target setting and monitoring in line with Habitat GB’s strategic objectives.

Accountable for all aspects of financial management and control, including budgeting, reforecasting, treasury management, cashflow, management information, performance and statutory reporting.
-
Accountable for the development and continuous improvement of reporting frameworks, including leading regular reviews with Senior Leadership team and providing quantitative and qualitative reports for the Board including clear and accessible narrative analysis.

Provision of financial management and accounting services, management information, and statutory reporting.
-
Lead the organisation of quarterly Finance, Audit & Risk Committee meetings, in line with the Committee Terms of Reference and in consultation with the Treasurer, and National Director/CEO.

Responsible for the preparation and submission of annual statutory accounts in accordance with SORP and legal requirements and coordinating the external audit exercise and seeing the process through to Board approvals and filing with statutory bodies.

Lead a positive and collaborative relationship with HFHI Finance teams and ensure that Habitat GB meets its regular reporting requirements.

Lead Habitat GB’s relationship with relevant external partners, including auditors, bankers, insurers, pension providers, HMRC, Charity Commission and Companies House.
GB Homes Subsidiary Entity:

Working closely with the National Director/CEO on planning for the future wind-up of the entity, providing all financial management, reporting and compliance resources as required in the interim.

Working with the Director of Programme Delivery, provide financial resource and support to the management of the former GB Homes asset portfolio, developing appropriate reporting mechanisms that provide data which can be included into the combined budgeting and reporting of Habitat GB
-
Accountable for integration and ongoing provision of the operational requirements of the GB Homes subsidiary, including insurance, technology, and communications requirements.
Fundraising & Programmes support:

Work closely with the Directors of Fundraising & Partnerships, and of Impact & Influence to set ambitious and achievable targets across restricted and unrestricted fundraising, track performance, and ensure high quality forecasting, reporting and budget management.

Be responsible for the development and oversight of policies, protocols and systems required for restricted fund management which align with Habitat for Humanity International and external donor requirements.

Work collaboratively across Habitat GB to agree service delivery expectations and ensure the timely provision of relevant inputs from the Finance, Operations & Compliance team across partnership and programme cycles. For example, audit or financial reporting requirements from donors, up to date policies, review of proposal documents, grants and contract agreements.

Work closely with the Directors of Programme Delivery & Retail to ensure Habitat GB has the specialist knowledge and financial skills relevant to our diverse types of programmes, including a new and growing retail operation, as well as construction project delivery.
Risk Management and Compliance:

Lead on the development and maintenance of the organisational Risk Register, being responsible for the management and mitigation of financial, regulatory and operational risks and coordinating with others on the reporting and review of other risk areas.

Ensure Habitat GB is fully compliant and up to date with all its data protection and insurance requirements and has access to appropriate legal and other expert resources where necessary.

Be responsible for technology infrastructure, hardware and the management of outsourced support services.
People Policies and HR Administration:

Support the Head of People to deliver a high-quality People and HR service to the organisation and our partners, including efficient HR administration, pension and payroll, people management, safeguarding, strategy and leadership.

Working closely with the National Director and others, have overall responsibility for the provision of up to date, user-friendly and legally compliant policies and procedures which support an efficient and effective organisational culture and environment.
Leadership & Management:

Lead a high performing and ambitious team, inspired to implement and grow the strategy and with a core focus on positive impact for Habitat GB’s community and strategic partners through the provisional of excellent functional and subject matter expertise.

Person profile:

Holder of a relevant professional or accounting qualification: e.g. ACCA or equivalent.

Expertise in charity sector compliance (FRS102) reporting requirements.

Expert knowledge of financial strategy, management and reporting, with experience relevant to funding and grants, retail, commercial or construction.

Proven track record of developing and leading complex financial strategies and supporting teams to deliver high quality functional inputs in an inclusive, collaborative environment.

Hands-on experience with relevant accounting systems and the ability to quickly learn new systems (Habitat GB uses SUN and SAGE systems).

The organisation is an independent funder and our income is generated from our endowment which consists of both significant property holdings and financial investments, therefore we do not fund raise, the organisation has distributed over £298 million in grants to a range of organisations that seek to promote the life chances of children and young people through Education, with around £15 million in grants distributed each year. The charity gives grants to benefit children and young up to the age of 25 (or up to 30 for younger people with special educational needs and/or disabilities) who live within nine Boroughs in West, Central and North London.
We are delighted to be working with the charity to recruit a permanent Financial Controller to join its established team based in conveniently located offices in Central London.
The role:
Reporting directly to the COO, the Financial Controller will ensure the provision of consistent, robust financial advice to the charity as a whole. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance and financial operations, ensuring these are compliant with statutory requirements and appropriate and effective financial controls are in place. They will also maintain a financial planning framework that will facilitate the delivery of the charity's financial strategy. This will involve managing one direct report, overseeing all financial reporting and tax compliance, preparing the charity’s management accounts and the end of year accounts for approval and sign off by the Trustees. In addition, the role will be responsible for managing an annual financial audit process preparing the annual budgets in advance for SLT sign off and providing sound financial advice across all of these areas.
This person will also manage all external relationships with banks, financial institutions, property Investors and auditors wherever Finance is the main issue being dealt with. This person will also oversee all Grants related financial transactions in close collaboration with the Grants department.
The person:
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant and will be able to provide excellent financial management and reporting for the Charity. They will be confident working with different internal stakeholders and external professional advisors and will be capable of considering their different requirements and priorities in a knowledgeable way. This person will have excellent attention to detail and will be highly organised and a strong communicator across a wide range of audiences. Educated to Degree level or the equivalent (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CIPFA), this person will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication and will be up to date on all MS Office packages and financial software including SAGE being essential.
Candidates with prior experience of working with endowed Trusts, Foundations or Charities or who have worked in Charities that have income derived from a permanent endowment (either partially or totally), will be of particular interest, so please draw attention to this when applying.
This person will have demonstrated substantial financial management experience at a senior level in the Charity or Not-for-Profit sectors, with extensive knowledge of UK Charity Accounting Standards (SORP, Charity Commission compliance and VAT). Also experienced in strategic financial planning, preparing complex financial statements, budgeting and cashflow forecasting, and have good knowledge of financial planning in a Funder or Grant-Maker setting. As our income is generated from our endowment which consists of both significant property holdings and financial investments a substantial experience of managing income and cashflow from property and investments is essential.

About The Role
We are a small charity which is expanding and looking to provide additional administrative support for our busy teams. We have an exciting opportunity to join the South East Rivers Trust and become part of the small and dynamic Finance and Operations team, sitting at the heart of the organisation. This role reports directly to the Finance Director and will provide administration for this and other teams in the organisation.
The General Administrator role has been created to support with a variety of tasks, including calendar management for catchment meetings, which are hosted both in person and virtually, across the region. In addition to logistical arrangements of these meetings, the successful applicant will support with all aspects of hosting, including minute taking. The role will also support the research, writing, collation and management of documents, for internal and external circulation. Other tasks will include supporting with budgets, expenses and invoices, requiring confidence in dealing with numbers, spreadsheets and suppliers.
The role would suit an individual with a strong administration background, who is approachable and organised, has excellent attention to detail, able to work on their own or as part of a team. It involves liaising and following up with all teams, to ensure internal and external stakeholders are communicated to in a timely manner with relevant information. This is an ideal position for someone with excellent Microsoft office skills, strong communication abilities and a genuine interest in making a positive impact. It will cover a variety of duties and afford the successful applicant the opportunity to learn more about the work we do in restoring our natural environment.
To be successful, they will need to be able to multitask, be proactive and have a confident manner, an excellent communicator who is inquisitive and able to work independently. Additionally, they will have a positive attitude, with a willingness to assist the whole team with other administrative tasks as and when required.
This role is a mix of working from home, with at least one day per week, (on a Thursday), working in the office in Leatherhead and attending regular in person meetings held across the entire SERT area.
This is a full time role, which may require attendance at some adhoc meetings outside of office hours.

The role will include coordinating and working with key expert partners, including community energy groups and research partners, across the three sites. The design stage of the project is largely complete, but there is still scope for creativity in delivery.

Job Description
The Youth Violence Intervention Practitioner role is to be part of the youth work team within Redthread with a primary focus on youth violence interventions in a health care setting. In this role you will be part of the Youth Violence Intervention Programme team at St George's Hospital. You will support young people aged, 11-25 years old, who present to hospital following an incident of violence of for whom them there are concerns around exploitation or extra-familial farm. You will work with the young person in the hospital as well as supporting them post discharge to ensure they have the support in place that they need and want. Other tasks include:
- Hold a caseload and work with young people in a range of settings, including in A&E and on the wards, in the community, in face-to-face and group contexts, and promote their personal, educational, health and social development through all interactions.
- Assist with the on-going development of the service model to ensure that clients gain the maximum benefit from Redthread’s interventions.
- Ensure information resources such as client forms, databases and contact files are kept fully up-to-date and secure, in line with GDPR, the Data Protection Act and our Confidentiality Policy and Consent Policy. Maintain high quality recording of interventions with young people on our database, Threads, in line with Redthread’s best-practice requirements. (Training will be provided.)
- Collect and record evidence of project outcomes and young people’s achievements, to ensure the completion of monitoring forms and project progress reports as required.
- Maintain a good level of knowledge of the issues around youth violence and Child Exploitation.
- With guidance and support from the Team Leader, develop skills to further your work with the young people.
- Under the direction of the Team Leader, develop an imaginative programme of events, activities and other interventions which support Catch22’s mission.

This role presents a great opportunity for a candidate with strong administrative, communication and team-working skills to join the Strategic Partnerships team at the RAF’s leading welfare charity. The Strategic Partnerships team manages the Fund’s relationships with corporate partners who play a vital role in making the Fund’s work possible. The team also develops and markets new fundraising offerings as well as identifying, researching and engaging with new corporate partners who will help the Fund stand side-by-side with the RAF Family in years to come.
This is an ideal role for a candidate already working in the charity sector and wishing to develop their skills in an active partnerships team, or for a candidate interested in transferring their skills into the charity sector. This role is an important one in supporting activity across the team, and particularly the work of the Strategic Partnerships Managers, with a focus on administrative support as well as liaising with internal and external stakeholders. In this role you will enable the team to build relationships and meet ambitious fundraising targets, allowing the charity to change the lives of beneficiaries facing hardship now and in the future.
The role will be office based at our London HQ, with a minimum of three days working in the office per week. The successful candidate for this role will need to prove they have the right to work in the UK.

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Project Worker to join the Lucy Faithfull Foundation’s Children & Young People’s Team. Our work makes meaningful and lasting difference to young people’s lives by preventing harmful sexual behaviour and by responding to incidents to restore safety and promote positive outcomes.
This new Project Worker role will support the delivery of a varied range of projects across our young people services, also offering opportunities to contribute to the development of exciting, new, youth-led initiatives. As part of your role as Project Worker, you will support in the development and delivery of our young people’s website, Shore, as well as providing non-judgemental and anonymous advice and support via our chat and email service.
