About This Job

Are you passionate about Agile delivery, team facilitation, and helping digital products reach their full potential? As an Agile Delivery & Scrum Manager within Cadet Digital Services, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our digital platforms, including the Westminster MIS and its supporting applications, are delivered efficiently, collaboratively, and with a strong focus on user needs.

Working closely with the Product Owner, developers, QA engineers, and our Solutions Architect, you will lead Agile ceremonies, help maintain a healthy delivery rhythm, and support the refinement and organisation of work across multiple streams. You will play a key part in turning strategic intent into clear, actionable delivery plans, and will work autonomously to keep delivery flowing smoothly.

If you enjoy creating structure, coaching teams, solving delivery challenges, and helping technical and non technical colleagues work effectively together, this role offers the opportunity to directly shape how digital services support cadets and volunteers across the UK.

Essential Skills/Experience

· Experience working as a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Manager, Agile Project/Delivery Coordinator, Business Analyst, or similar role within a digital or technology environment.

· Strong facilitation skills and confidence leading Agile ceremonies.

· Experience translating requirements into user stories and delivery ready artefacts.

· Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (developers, testers, designers, product roles).

· Good understanding of Agile delivery practices (Scrum, Kanban) and practical application in real teams.

· Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non technical groups.

· Ability to manage competing priorities, track risks, remove impediments, and keep work moving.

Supporter Relations Executive

The Supporter Relations and Fundraising Operations team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is a key point of contact in the charity for supporters and members of the public and ensures the highest standards in operational processes and compliance, in order to ensure a first-class supporter experience.

The Supporter Relations Executive will be responsible for delivering supporter facing engagement activities ensuring delivery of an excellent experience for every contact, recognise opportunities to increase supporter loyalty, and generate the maximum amount of income for dementia research. This role primarily works within the Supporter Relations sub- team alongside other Executives. To ensure appropriate resourcing across the wider team and maintain SLAs, the role will also carry out donation processing and other operational tasks relating to supporter activities, where required.

We have 2 roles available. 

Key Responsibilities:

Supporter Enquiry Management

· Provide exceptional supporter care, ensuring every supporter and member of the public enjoys an outstanding experience when engaging with the charity, in all communications: inbound telephone calls, emails, social media messages and enquiries by post.

· Respond to a wide range of enquiries including marketing campaigns, donations, fundraising events and requests for materials, within a timely and professional manner. 

· Receive and respond to feedback and complaints from members of the public and supporters, as the first point of contact in the team, escalating where required.

· Ensure the integrity of the CRM database, Salesforce, by amending supporter records accurately, including coding of and processing donations.

· Promote fundraising, engagement and retention opportunities when communicating with supporters, using a range of initiatives to explain the positive impact of their donations in contributing to the charity mission, ‘for a cure’.

· Ensure formal guidelines and best practice are adhered to in relation to Direct Debits, Gift Aid, FR codes of Fundraising Practice, Gambling Commission, and Data Protection Act.

Supporter Stewardship:

· Engage in outbound telephone calls and written communications to increase the value of, or to retain supporters; this will include thanking, stewardship activity, obtaining Gift Aid declarations and vulnerability checks.

· Support the Fundraising Relationship team to manage accounts specific to their regions, to ensure excellent supporter stewardship.

· Effectively and consistently seek opportunities to build networks among our fundraising community, ensuring these are directed to appropriate fundraising teams.

· Seek opportunities for repeat fundraising, by identifying opportunities and engaging with supporters as part of our re-engagement process.

· Manage the supporter follow‑up process to ensure funds are received promptly and accurately. 

·  Engage supporters in the best practice in ‘in aid of’ fundraising policies and deliver promotion of this opportunity.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Experience of working in a customer facing role.

· Experience of handling queries and complaints.

· Confidence working with computers – good knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM databases.

· Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

· Confident and engaging telephone manner.

· Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.

· A professional and hard-working team player with a positive and collaborative work ethic.

· Outgoing, enthusiastic and able to remain calm under pressure

Where you’ll be working

We are recruiting a fixed-term Policy Campaigns Manager to lead our campaigns function at ARUK. The Policy Campaigns Manager will report to the Senior Public Affairs and Campaigns Manager and have line management responsibilities for the Policy Campaigns Officer.

In this role you will be joining a friendly and fast-moving Policy and Public Affairs team, during an exciting year for dementia research as we campaign on our core mission for a cure. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to oversee our active campaigns and identify opportunities to mobilise our supporters and drive influence and impact for and with people affected by dementia.

You will lead the development of the campaigns function for ARUK, building on existing initiatives, championing best practice in campaigns and building our reach and engagement. You will also be responsible for working across a range of functions including our policy, research, communications, digital, brand and volunteering teams.

This is a 12 month FTC or on return of the substantive postholder

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver our live campaigns and marshal our campaigner base to advocate for change in dementia research and for people affected by dementia

· Work with colleagues across research, policy and public affairs teams to develop and deliver our campaigns that mobilise people affected by dementia and our supporters to influence decision makers and change policy and practice

· Work with the policy managers to ensure that our campaigns align with our strategic priorities and theories of change

· Work closely with public affairs colleagues to plan campaign actions that align with key political influencing moments e.g. Budget; Spending Review; King’s speech; General Elections

Develop and deliver our campaign communications to grow the reach, influence and impact of our campaigns

· Lead the development and growth of our campaigner network, building supporter journeys, and producing compelling and creative campaigner communications across email, social media and other channels

· Work with colleagues across CRM and digital to improve data management, delivering regular reporting on campaign actions and use this data to enhance the campaigner experience and empower more people to take action. ​

· Work with colleagues across the organisation to build campaigning expertise and experience with local ARUK supporters and improve our reach with MPs in their constituencies

Line Manage our Policy Campaigns Officer

· Oversee the work of the policy campaigns officer including setting objectives and providing support to a range of workstreams.

· Consider the learning and development needs of the policy campaigns officer and ensure that they are able to grow and develop in their role. 

Involve people affected by dementia in campaigns development and delivery

· Identify campaign champions and storytellers with lived experience who can advocate for change

· Provide training and ongoing support to people with lived experience to empower them to take part in and shape our campaigns

Research, insight and continuous improvement

· Provide expert advice across the charity on campaigning, taking an open, flexible and innovative approach

· Develop mechanisms to keep abreast of best practice in campaigns and any legal or regulatory issues specifically around mental capacity and consent, data protection and lobbying etc

· Continue a campaigning culture across the organisation by being an ambassador for the benefits of campaigning and working with colleagues to showcase the opportunities and impact of our work.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Educated to A Level or equivalent 

· Experience of delivering successful national campaigns 

· Experience of building fruitful relationships with colleagues across organisations 

· Experience of developing impactful campaign strategies with clear policy rationale and creative tactics 

· Experience of writing compelling campaign communications 

· Experience of working with campaigners 

· Experience using CRM databases such as Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce and handling sensitive personal data

The Senior Email Channel Officer is a critical role in planning, creating, delivering and optimising our email campaigns and automated supporter journeys. The role ensures supporters receive timely, relevant and engaging communications that strengthen their relationship with the charity and drive meaningful action. The post holder will have experience in achieving KPI’s such as improved campaign engagement metrics; improved automated journeys to increase retention, reactivation and income; delivering email accuracy and quality; and contributing to the overall Supporter Experience Strategy to build lifetime value through more supporters, staying longer and doing more.

This is a 12-month FTC

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign and Automation Journey Planning & Delivery

· Hands on delivery, including build and test high‑quality email campaigns that support fundraising, supporter engagement and other organisational priorities such as volunteering and campaigning actions.

· Build, test and optimise automated email journeys that welcome, retain, steward and reactivate supporters, building performance knowledge and insight that can be replicated across different supporter products and journeys.

· Support the Email Channel Manager with overseeing the email marketing calendar and sign offs where needed.

· Work with data and CRM teams to improve trigger logic, personalisation and segmentation, using your audience understanding to incorporate targeting and personalisation using customer data and dynamic content logic.

· Advise on the integration of email within multi-channel campaigns (e.g. email, SMS, Whatsapp, direct mail, social and telephone)

Reporting, Performance & Insight

· Monitor performance and continuously refine journeys to improve conversion, engagement and lifetime value.

· Work with Business Intelligence, Insight and Digital Analytics teams to produce regular reports on email performance, offering clear insights and recommendations.

· Use A/B testing, segmentation and behavioural insights to drive continuous improvement.

· Ensure activity aligns with KPIs around engagement, retention, income and supporter satisfaction.

· Contribute to platform migrations or upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions and improved capability.

· Identify and implement workflow improvements between the Supporter Experience and Data teams to increase effectiveness and reduce lead times for campaign deployment.

Training & Upskilling

· Champion email channel best practise to uphold high quality assurance and executional standards.

· Support the Email Channel Manager with upskilling and mentoring junior team members in email and channel best practice, automations, segmentation, project planning and supporter journeys.

· Create and maintain documentation of learnings, processes, ways of working and results where required.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Significant experience delivering email campaigns and automated journeys in a fundraising, marketing or digital environment.

· Hands‑on experience with email marketing platforms and CRM systems.

· Proven track record of improving performance through testing and optimisation.

· Experience working with data teams and segmentation logic.

· Familiarity with behavioural insights or loyalty‑building techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Research Operations Leadership

· Foster and deepen relationships with the global dementia research community, with support of the Research Engagement team, ensuring ARUK remains a trusted leader in funding excellence.

· Provide oversight and functional leadership for research operations across distinctive functions: pre-award, post-award (including invoicing and reporting), and grant system management, ensuring clear ownership, robust processes and alignment with organisational goals and long-term impact.

· Oversee the delivery and continuous improvement of grants review, awarding and management processes, ensuring a high-quality applicant and award-holder experience and timely, accurate, audit-ready outputs aligned with best practice, funding policies and ARUK values.

· Lead research funding governance and policy, ensuring clear decision-making, robust guidance (including due diligence and risk management where appropriate), and consistent application of funding requirements across the end-to-end grant lifecycle.

Scientific Strategy and Innovation

· Provide strategic advice on research funding through horizon scanning and analysis of ARUK’s funding portfolio, identifying gaps/opportunities and shaping options for future funding strategies and schemes.

· Develop and implement new grant schemes and funding initiatives, ensuring alignment with ARUK’s research strategy and the evolving needs of the dementia research community (including early career researchers).

People Leadership

· Line management of three Research Managers, effectively delegating work to support delivery of their objectives.

Knowledge, skills and experience needed:

· Strong science background, educated to degree level in a relevant subject (preferably with a postgraduate qualification or equivalent work experience).​

About the role

Our exciting three year strategy sets out our ambitious goals to drive impact at scale for victim-survivors. We are now looking for an exceptional candidate to lead some of our financial services relationships and consultancy work and support SEA in its mission to raise awareness of economic abuse and transform responses to it within the financial services sector.

  You’ll have substantial experience managing complex casework, including dismissals and discrimination.   Ideally, you will have ER specialist experience confidently managing a high volume of cases in a large organisation. Additionally, experience of tribunal case preparation, restructuring, redundancy, and TUPE would be highly advantageous.

Our platform has been built from the ground up by a small, skilled development team over the past three years. We are appointing a Senior Rails Engineer at a pivotal moment, joining as a senior individual contributor with strong influence on product planning and the roadmap, owning two products in the TEP ecosystem, and acting as the senior technical reference point for the wider development team.

You will work closely with our fractional CTO and the TEP Director to translate strategic priorities into well-built software, helping us actively embed AI-assisted development practices that we believe will significantly change how our team works over the next two years. Supporting our early- to mid-career developers in their work comes alongside the technical role.

 We are a small, mission-driven team and this is a high-trust, high-ownership role. The right person will care about the quality of what they build, be genuinely curious about the problems schools and trusts are trying to solve, and be excited about using AI tooling not as a shortcut but as a genuine accelerant for good work.

 What you’ll inherit

• A proven, established codebase. Three years of well-considered Ruby on Rails development serving 600+ schools across the UK, Australia and the UAE, with active users, real data, and a roadmap shaped by partner feedback.
• A small, capable, agile team alongside you. Early-mid career developers learning from your day-to-day practice, with a culture of peer review, pair programming and honest feedback already in place.
• A fractional CTO and an engaged Director. Architectural sounding board on one side, a Director who understands the platform and the partner base on the other. You will not be navigating priorities alone.
• A clear AI-first direction. AI assisted development tools are in use and central to how we expect the team to work going forward. You will help shape that practice.
• Real product ambition. A roadmap that includes deeper data pipelines, international growth, and the underlying infrastructure to support a national-scale evidence base.
• A base in Leeds. A vibrant, accessible city-centre office at Platform, New Station Street, two minutes from Leeds station, in the heart of the northern tech hub. Remote-first or office-based at your preference.

Role responsibilities

This is an individual contributor role, owning two products in the TEP ecosystem with strong influence on product planning and the roadmap, working closely with the TEP Director and our fractional CTO. You will write production code day to day, own architectural decisions across your scope alongside the fractional CTO, and act as the senior technical reference point for the development team.

Platform development

You will:

• Write well-tested, high-quality code using Ruby on Rails and front-end technologies, delivering features, fixing bugs and addressing technical debt.
• Work within our Trello and GitHub workflow and agile ways of working, reviewing code, maintaining pull request quality and upholding a strong peer review culture.
• Take ownership of architectural decisions on the platform, working with the fractional CTO to ensure they are sound, well-reasoned and documented.
• Balance delivery pace with code quality. We want to move fast without accumulating debt.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our development processes, tooling and ways of working as the team and platform grow.
• Lead on security and platform performance workstreams.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code and similar) as a genuine part of your daily working practice, not as an occasional aid.

Product planning

You will

• Collaborate with the Director and fractional CTO on roadmap prioritisation, balancing new features, fixes, security and technical debt with a clear view of capacity and complexity.

• Translate product priorities into well-scoped, well-estimated technical work, developing cards, running planning sessions and ensuring the team has clarity on what they are building and why.

• Engage in sprint planning and retrospectives, contributing to how we continuously improve our delivery cadence.

• Bring your own perspective on where AI tooling adds value and where it introduces risk. We want someone who uses these tools critically and thoughtfully.

• Contribute to how we think about AI in product development more broadly. This is an area we are actively investing in and your input will shape our approach.

• Provide the Director with clear, honest technical input on decisions that have a product or strategic dimension.

Problem solving

You will:

• Respond to bug reports, both automated exceptions and human reports, working with the team to diagnose and resolve issues quickly.

• Maintain and improve platform reliability, security, monitoring and incident response processes.

Team development and mentoring

You will:

• Provide day-to-day technical support for the development team, the senior technical reference point for our developers.

• Contribute to strategy and working culture as part of a small, growing organisation. We value people who engage beyond their immediate technical brief.

About you

We are open to a range of backgrounds. The right person will bring strong technical depth, creative problem solving and real enthusiasm for the way emergent technologies and AI are changing how development work gets done. You do not need to have worked in education or edtech before, but you should care about the mission.

What you’ll need

• We imagine that most strong applicants will have 7+ years of relevant commercial Ruby experience, with strong Rails experience in production environments. We are more interested in your skills than where they came from.
• A strong instinct for code quality. You care about maintainability, test coverage and what the codebase looks like in two years, not just whether it ships today.
• Genuine, practical experience with AI-assisted development tools. You use these comfortably and can speak with real authority about when and how they work.
• Comfort working in an evolving, established codebase. You are at ease with inherited code and incremental improvement.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, analytics infrastructure or big data.
• Translating product priorities into well-scoped technical work. You are comfortable bridging product and engineering.
• Strong communication skills. You can explain complex technical decisions clearly to a non-technical Director and work effectively with a fractional CTO.

Your knowledge and experience might involve: 

• Asset-based community development 
• Developing and delivering activities in a community setting
• Lived experience of the challenges Buckinghamshire’s rural communities face
• Experience of working in the field of housing delivery and working with local authority planning and housing teams.

Training and support will be provided so you don’t need to be an expert in everything. You will be part of a supportive staff team within the charity, and you will be part of a national network of Rural Housing Enablers offering peer support and shared learning.

You will benefit from an interest in housing and must be able to work with Parish Councils, Housing Associations and Local Housing & Planning Authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Support, advise and steer communities, and town and parish councillors from their initial interest in providing affordable housing, through scheme inception and pre-development phases to completion, with the aim of increasing the speed of schemes through the pre-development phase.
• Assist communities to identify the nature and extent of affordable local housing need in their community including, where appropriate, through a Housing Needs Survey.
• Assist communities to identify a deliverable site for development of affordable housing and/or secure affordable housing as part of market led schemes.
• Build collaborative partnerships with key partners to provide a clear pathway to a successful planning application and delivery. Partners may include, but are not limited to, local communities, parish councils, housing association staff, officers from the Local Authorities (including in their role as providers of affordable housing) and local developers.
• Provide project management including regular reporting on project progress against workplan and housing pipeline.

Key requirements

• Experience of building and sustaining relationships within and across organisations and sectors, and working collaboratively.
• A highly capable communicator in person and in writing. Able to engage the public, local politicians, and officials on their own terms, whilst remaining independent and trusted.
• Experience delivering research, strategic assessment & planning, data analysis, and evaluation reports.
• Excellent organisational, planning and management skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Agile and proactive in approach to challenges and opportunities.
• Able to work under pressure, multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
• Competent user of databases and the Microsoft suite of software.
• Either Full British driving licence and access to private means of transport or ability to demonstrate how you will meet this requirement.
• Available to work evenings and weekends when necessary (in accordance with our Time Off In Lieu Policy)
