About Us
Whispaws Animal Sanctuary is a UK-based charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned dogs and cats in Serbia. We provide veterinary care, rehabilitation, and adoption opportunities, and run sterilisation campaigns to reduce the street dog population. Our work also includes a street feeding campaign, ensuring that abandoned animals living outdoors receive regular food and care.
We are a small but passionate team, committed to improving animal welfare through hands-on rescue work, community outreach, and fundraising.
The Role
We are looking for reliable, proactive volunteers to join our team and support us with general administration, social media, and fundraising. You may choose to help in one area or across several, depending on your skills, interests, and availability. The work can be done remotely, although if you are based near Sevenoaks, Blackheath, or Chislehurst, there are opportunities to join our in-person fundraising events.
Key Areas of Involvement
General Administration

Who We’re Looking For

Honest and clear about what tasks they can take on, and follow through reliably

Organised and able to complete agreed tasks in a timely manner

Do you love quizzes, entertaining people and raising money for animals? We’re looking for volunteers to run our regular pub quizzes and keep the fun going.
Quizzes are held at:
- The Barn Owl, Quedgeley – 6pm on the last Sunday of the month
- The Old Crown Inn, Uley – 7pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month
What you’ll be doing: Choose from two volunteer roles at each quiz:
- Host – Read out the questions, keep scores, announce winners and keep things lively.
- Welcome Lead – Sign in teams, sell raffle tickets and help answer any queries.

Calling all animal lovers! We're looking for passionate volunteers to join Team Teckels at our charity shop in Stroud.
Teckels rescue, rehabilitate and rehome hundreds of vulnerable cats and dogs every year. Your support in our charity shop will make a massive impact on their lives.
We have customer facing and non-customer facing roles available. Shifts will be planned according to your availability and the shop opening hours of Tuesdays to Saturdays 9am to 5pm. Ideally, this will be a morning 9am to 1pm or evening 1pm to 5pm shift once a week.
We welcome volunteers whenever the shop is open, but we are especially looking for help on the shop floor on a Saturday morning or afternoon, and with sorting donations on a Friday and Saturday.c

Help raise awareness and funds for Teckels in your local area. Our Community Volunteers champion our work, represent Teckels at events, and inspire others to get involved.
What you’ll be doing:
- Hosting stalls at local fairs and events
- Supporting supermarket collections or Pets at Home fundraising days
- Collecting donations and bringing them to the Centre
- Putting up posters, handing out leaflets, or sharing social posts

We're looking for friendly volunteers to help out at our popular Summer Fair & Dog Show, taking place on the 23rd and 24th August.
Timings:
- Friday: Help with set up
- Saturday: 9am-5pm
- Sunday: 9am-5pm
You can help for the entire weekend if you like, but we ask for a three hour shift on the Saturday or Sunday, and any extra support will be gratefully received!
What you'll be doing:
There's a few different roles available, but here's an idea of some of them
- Helping us set up on the Friday
- Hosting a stall during the event with fellow volunteers
- You might be running games, selling refreshments, or running a tombola, or be on entrance or car parking duties.
- Some roles require you to handle cash and use a card reader linked to your phone. Please let us know if you're not able to do this.
What you'll need:
- Be able to sit/stand in a field for a few hours
- Happy speaking to the public
- Be comfortable around dogs
- As this is an outdoor event, dress for the weather and be comfortable in all weather conditions.
