Oxford Hospitals Charity is looking for a talented and creative fundraiser to lead on growing income from individuals. You will join a wider Fundraising team of eight people and play a key role in developing exciting activities; encouraging new support to grow our existing supporter base and inspire our loyal supporters to continue giving.

You will use your experience to help the charity maximise our fundraising by designing engaging and intentional multi-channel donor journeys. The Sophie Lancaster Foundation was founded in 2009 after Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend were attacked because of their alternative appearance. Sophie later died from her injuries. The Foundation was created by Sophie’s mother Sylvia to address prejudice against alternative subcultures and to promote understanding and tolerance through education, advocacy and policy work.

The role involves creating a fundraising function from the bottom up and then developing and implementing a fundraising strategy. Diverse income streams to be targeted include corporate partnerships, individual donors, grants and foundations, events and digital campaigns. You’ll work closely with the team, CEO and Trustees to ensure fundraising activities align with our clear objectives.

Responsible for creating and delivering a fundraising plan that meets income targets, you’ll identify funding opportunities that align with our mission. This includes researching grants, preparing applications, managing funder relationships and reporting. Building donor engagement through regular giving, legacy programmes and other initiatives will also be part of the role.

Maintaining accurate, GDPR-compliant records of fundraising activities and donor data is essential. You’ll also prepare reports for internal use and external stakeholders.

Strong written communication skills and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines are important. Responsibilities

The Trusts and Grants Fundraiser will lead on our applications, reporting and the administration of our appeals to charitable trusts and foundations, and support bids to public funders.

You will:

• maintain and manage our existing pipeline of charitable trusts and foundations

• undertake research and identify trusts and foundations whose priorities align with our work, in line with organisational priorities

• work closely with the General Manager and Director of Education to research, prepare and submit high quality, compelling applications, ranging from 4-6 figures and including multi-year proposals

• record applications made, track outcomes and provide reports for finance and management

• prepare timely updates and reports to funders that communicate the impact of their support and maximise the opportunity for ongoing or future support, working with colleagues to ensure feedback, case studies, data and financial information is available as required

• work closely with colleagues to maximise the opportunities of stewardship and long-term cultivation, e.g. by inviting funders to events and projects where appropriate

Background and purpose

We are the only UK-wide charity for everyone affected by a genetic and acquired bleeding disorder. 

At the Haemophilia Society (THS) we want to empower everyone affected by a bleeding disorder to live life to the full, whatever your stage in life.

One in 2,000 men, women and children in the UK have a diagnosed bleeding disorder, which are a group of conditions, including haemophilia and von Willebrand disorder, that result when the blood cannot clot properly. 

As many as a third of bleeding disorder diagnoses have no known family history and can be the result of a random gene mutation. This means a bleeding disorder diagnosis can come completely out of the blue.

THS brings together people with bleeding disorders and their families to share experiences and understand more about how to live well with a bleeding disorder. Together, we can all make a difference.

About the role

We’re incredibly lucky to have a generous and dedicated community who are always looking for new ways to support our work. We are looking for a passionate fundraiser who can take ownership of our community fundraising and empower our members and supporters in their fundraising ventures. You’ll act as the face of THS for people looking to raise money in a variety of wonderful ways – ensuring they have what they need to be as successful as possible. This will include managing a number of key events such as the London Marathon, Ride London and Swim Serpentine.

At Scripture Union, we’re looking for two experienced and driven fundraisers to join our team. The fundraising team work to a target of around £2m per year, generated from a range of channels and segments. We’re looking for two more people to grow this team as we expand our mission to reveal Jesus to the younger generations in England and Wales. 

About the roles    

We’re looking for two fundraisers to tackle the following areas: 

• Individual Giving, working to maintain and grow our portfolio of donors giving between £10pa -  £1,500 pa each.

• Fundraising Innovation, coming up with fresh new ideas that will generate more income for the mission that take us beyond our tried and tested fundraising activities. 

Between them, the two roles account for 1.8 FTE, and we’re flexible about how that’s allocated. It could be that both roles work 4.5 days a week each, or one full time and the other four days. We’re open to suggestions as we seek the right candidates for the team.

The salary for both roles will be £31,500 - £34,800  per annum for an FTE.

• Individual Giving: Grow income from individual donors through the management of campaigns, regular giving and invitations to increase gifts from general individual donors and mid-level donors. Work to acquire and retain new donors and reactivate lapsed donors. 

• Fundraising Innovation: Develop, trial and implement new and innovative approaches to income generation, contributing to our annual target through new strategic ideas. Work with the fundraising team to ensure these activities align with our fundraising strategy and relationships with grant making trusts, major donors and legacy income.

What the job involves

We're on the lookout for a motivated Direct Marketing professional to bring their skills to our Individual Giving Team, with a focus on retention campaigns.

Direct Marketing plays an important role in the Charity’s fundraising and overall corporate strategy. We’re looking for a confident and proactive fundraiser to take responsibility for the delivery and ongoing development of our current retention programme.

You’ll deliver timely, targeted, relevant communications to our warm audiences; newly recruited and existing cash supporters and regular givers with the aim of strengthening loyalty and increasing their lifetime value.

With internal and external stakeholders, you’ll project manage existing direct marketing campaigns in the form of direct mail appeals, emails, telemarketing and occasional stewardship events. You’ll consistently analyse KPIs and make evidence-based decisions to help assist with growing the programme and delivering our overall financial target.

What we want from you

Aside from excellent knowledge and experience of working in a direct marketing environment, which includes developing and implementing retention focused direct marketing campaigns, you’ll also have a range of channel experience and marketing knowledge.

You’ll possess first class communication skills, a strong team ethic and you’ll be at ease working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The ability to manage budgets and projects is also essential, along with proven knowledge of data protection and sector compliance. Knowledge of direct marking and fundraising law would be advantageous.

Responsibility for development and implementation of strategies to retain current and acquire new supporters; as well as the ability to provide excellent stewardship for donors and fundraisers. Key responsibilities include, raising significant income in line with business plan targets. This includes the Charity’s current £2.5M Emergency and Critical Care Appeal. Building strong relationships with the Hospital Board and Executive team, Charitable Funds Committee and hospital staff. Establish and manage productive relationships with donors, fundraisers and other supporters. Deliver an emotive case for support and effective income generation programme. The Donor Engagement Manager is responsible for communicating IFAW’s vision, strategy, and impact to inspire significant philanthropic commitments for IFAW's work from high-net-worth individuals and family foundations. By spearheading best-in-class donor communications, engagement, and stewardship, this role serves an essential function: developing and building IFAW’s reputation to position IFAW as a top charity worthy of significant donations. The Donor Engagement Manager plays a key role in improving the HNW donor journey and achieving our fundraising goals for enhanced programmatic impact globally in conservation, rescue, and policy.

Role and Responsibilities

The Donor Engagement Manager is an integral component of IFAW’s global Development team. Reporting to the Deputy Vice President, Development, the Donor Engagement Manager leads a robust donor communications, engagement, and stewardship program for high-net-worth (HNW) individuals, spearheading the development of strategy and plans, and supervising a team of contractors and freelancers for project implementation. The successful candidate will contribute to the attainment of ambitious growth goals (including current use, endowments, and significant gifts in will), by inspiring donors’ philanthropic support and leading the creation and implementation of a suite of donor communications and experiences.

Critical responsibilities include:

Create dynamic donor engagement plan

· Spearhead donor engagement plans, including cultivation, stewardship experiences, and recognition

· Drive a robust calendar of communications and activities to optimize donor engagement, mission impact, and a best-in class donor experience with IFAW

· Advise and support frontline fundraisers with strategy and content for donor communications and proposals; collaborate with gift officers on HNW individual donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts, including development of custom proposals and cases for support

· Collaborate with communications and program teams to create compelling donor impact reports, donor newsletters, webinars, bespoke proposals, and other tools that drive and support effective engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major- and principal-level gifts as well as larger legacy commitments; maintain curated library of assets for gift officers to use or customize

· Gather and share impact stories, data, and testimonials to demonstrate the value of donor contributions

· Plan and oversee execution of exclusive engagement opportunities (in-person and virtual) for target audience, designed to highlight IFAW programmatic expertise and build stronger donor relationships

· Develop and implement personalized stewardship plans for select principal and major donors, working closely with frontline fundraisers and relationship managers

· Ensure all donor touchpoints reflect the organization’s mission and values, and that donors feel valued and connected

Manage projects and personnel

· Lead, coach, and manage a team of freelancers responsible for communications, stewardship, and engagement activities; oversee contracts, monitor deliverables and expenditures

· Maintain strong relationships with program leaders across the global organization, keeping apprised of IFAW’s programmatic work to identify topics that will appeal to high-net-worth donors and prospects

· Analyze donor engagement metrics, track trends, and report on the effectiveness of engagement and stewardship strategies.

Collaboration and fundamentals  

· Ensure routine fundraising communications and templates for major gifts are up-to-date, accurate, and on brand (e.g., fundraising appeals, donor education emails, gift acknowledgments, holiday cards, swag)

· Manage creation and updates of bespoke proposals so that they are timely and well-designed

· Improve integration of mail / email outreach

· Collaborate with communications and marketing teams to optimize use and creative repurposing of resources and collateral materials

· Enhance web presence (philanthropy pages) to incorporate donor testimonials and demonstrate impact of philanthropic support

· Update and improve naming opportunities for major and principal gifts, named and endowed funds, larger legacies and blended gifts from HNW individuals

Strategic guidance and innovation

· Collaborate with DVP Development to recommend and implement effective points of contact with donors for the purposes of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of six-figure+ gifts

· Identify opportunities to present our work more effectively and enhance the donor experience

· Launch or relaunch giving societies – e.g., cumulative lifetime giving, high-end annual giving, legacy society – with an emphasis on philanthropy and engagement rather than perks and benefits

· Advise on ways to streamline and improve donor communications and engagement, e.g., by leveraging technology, balancing push / pull outreach, adjusting the mix of print / digital and other media  

· Guide the larger Development team in positioning our programs to inspire greater philanthropic support

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Minimum 4-5 years of related experience in nonprofit stewardship, donor communications, fundraising, or related transferable experience

· Experience leading a team in a development setting, including direct supervision of colleagues in donor engagement and stewardship; and/or management of a stable of contractors and freelancers

· Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment and lead numerous functions and various projects simultaneously

· Exceptional written communication, relationship-building, project management and collaboration skills

· Intellectual curiosity

· Must be professional, highly organized, creative, efficient, and collaborative.

· Cultural competence: ability to work seamlessly with colleagues across four continents.

· Able to work successfully both individually and as part of a team.

· Must be flexible and willing to take on new responsibilities within a growing program

· Ability to travel regionally/internationally for trainings and team meetings

· A degree from a four-year college or university preferred

· Knowledge of Microsoft products, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook required; familiarity with Adobe, Canva or other graphic design / visual communications programs a plus

We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, proactive and driven Fundraising Manager to join our team at Brain Tumour Support. You will be joining the team at an exciting time as we seek to grow our supporter base both locally and nationally.

You will assume responsibility for the delivery of the fundraising strategy to achieve ambitious unrestricted income targets through Corporate Partnerships, Community Fundraising and Individual Giving. Motivating and line managing a small, but growing fundraising team, you will ensure activity levels are on track to achieve both income and awareness targets for the charity.

Ideal candidates must come from a charity fundraising background, with the drive to inspire a team, grow income, build relationships and initiate opportunities for development of the fundraising function. This role will suit a dynamic and positive individual, with a proven track record and extensive experience of meeting demanding income targets within various income streams, one of which should be Corporate, community or individual fundraising. Experience of developing and leading a team to success is desirable for this role.
