Join us in the ambitious ‘Birmingham In Action’ campaign, which commits to raising over £600 million of charitable funding and 1 million volunteer hours, positioning the University of Birmingham as one of the leaders in philanthropy in the UK. To fulfil our exciting campaign ambitions, we are recruiting a Head of Philanthropy – Global, to maximise philanthropic funding and to take our campaign to the next level.

A key member of the Development and Alumni Relations Office’s (DARO) Philanthropy team, you will be responsible for growing major gifts opportunities and building a sustainable pipeline of future donations from global philanthropic markets. You will have experience of delivering against financial targets, along with the ability to translate complex information into a compelling ask in both verbal and written form. As the Head of Philanthropy - Global, you will be responsible for growing our international major gifts programme. In collaboration with the Associate Director of Philanthropy you will develop and implement fundraising strategies to increase major giving in Asia and North America as well as emerging areas of focus. You will manage a personal portfolio of six figure + (GBP) potential supporters and personally raise gifts in excess of £1m p/a. You will manage the international philanthropy team of two individuals and support them to deliver their annual fundraising and supporting targets.

As a senior fundraiser in DARO, you will be innovative, self-motivated, and take ownership of fundraising opportunities. As part of a dynamic team and led by some of the most respected names in higher education fundraising, you will work across the University to generate significant gifts for amazing philanthropic projects and encourage new donors to make long-term, sustainable gifts. You will have an enthusiasm for building relationships, the skill to interact with high-level donors and supporters, and the ability to showcase the game changing work of our academics and clinicians.

Your aim will be to lead on developing a fundraising strategy and growing the museums' contributed income accross multiple fundraising channels.

Strategy: working closely with the Chief Executive, you will lead the development of a fundraining strategy to deliver contributed income across individual philanthropists, companies and grant makers.

Research and Prospecting: working alongside the Chief Executive, Development Committee and the Board, you will identify and research prospective people, companies and grant-makers that could support Queer Britain.

Pipeline Management: using our CRM system, you will maintain our pipeline, ensuring records are up to date and accurate.

Cultivation: using the full resources of Queer Britain, you will create cultivation plans that may include informal meetings, tours of the museum, meeting with key members of the team, workshop visits and private dinners.

Making the ask: you will be fearless in asking people to support the museum, and will support the Chief Executive with pitching to companies and writing grant applications. 

Stewarding Supporters: you will ensure that all Queer Britain supporters understand the impact of their donation with a stewardship programm that entertains, engages and encourages renewal.

Guts UK is the only charity that covers the digestive system from top to tail, including the gut, the liver and the pancreas. The charity focuses particularly on the conditions that have no other specific charity or voice - conditions that are underserved, such as pancreatitis, diverticular disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), childhood gut and liver disease, and digestive cancers. With their mission being to improve the lives of the millions of people affected by digestive conditions, they are looking for their first Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager to help them reach that goal.

The Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager is responsible for developing and implementing plans to maximise income from corporate partners and high net worth individuals with the propensity to donate significant sums. There is huge scope to develop both income streams at Guts UK, as this is the first dedicated position covering these income streams.

With some fantastic corporate partnerships in place already, there is great potential to build on the existing foundations and leverage those corporate partnerships to secure more ranging from transactional right up to transformational.

The philanthropy function has green shoots to nurture and develop. This is an exciting role for a candidate who wants to grow and shape this income stream, and demonstrate their personal impact on generating income, and providing donors with an incredible supporter experience.

Who are Guts UK looking for?

This role would suit an experienced, corporate and/or philanthropy fundraiser with well-developed relationship management skills. Someone who is excited by the opportunity of shaping, developing and elevating these important supporters for the charity.

Guts UK are open to applications from those looking to develop their expertise and will be fully supported, should they not have equal experience in corporate partnerships and philanthropy. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate experience across areas such as corporate prospecting, pitching and account management. 

Guts UK is a small charity with big ambition so a background that includes working within a smaller charity would be helpful for the candidate to have but isn't essential.

Engagement Officer (Midlands & West)
We are looking for an Engagement Officer to work with members of the UK fire services community in an inhouse, face to face fundraising capacity. This role covers a region reaching from Severn Park in Avonmouth (Bristol), to Staffordshire and across the Midlands and part of Wales.

The successful candidate will ideally be located around the Birmingham area, or within the Mid / West of England, to enable frequent travel across the region to visit stations and training centres regularly. 

Hours: 30 hours per month (equivalent of 6.92 hours per week)

We are looking for an Engagement Officer who can inspire the Fire and Rescue communities to support Fire Fighters charity and the work it carries out.

The Role
Building relationships with the fire and rescue services in your area, you’ll become an integral part of the local fire services community, you'll work collaboratively with our national team of fundraisers and to help secure much-needed income for the Charity.

You will provide talks to new recruits, making them aware of the services the charity provides for them as new service users, and encourage signups to individual giving schemes. You will work with your team to maximise recruitment, re-engagement and retention of individual supporters.

With a flexible approach, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling your visits to stations, managing and maintaining personal data and recording outcomes on our Customer Relations Management (CRM) software. 

You will need to be able to travel across the region, which includes: Severn Park in Avonmouth (Bristol), Staffordshire and across the Midlands and parts of Wales.

About You
We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser to join our team. You’ll need excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate to a wide range of audiences, with the ability to deliver PowerPoint Presentations in a confident, and clear manner.

You'll need good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, and work without close supervision. You'll also need to be competent on standard Microsoft packages, have efficient time management skills and a proficient use of social media and apps. 

This role requires you to be able to travel and occasionally stay away overnight. 

A good knowledge of the UK Fire and Rescue Service community is beneficial, and knowledge of legal requirements relating to Fundraising and Data Protection and Information Security principles is required.

About the role

We are the UK’s largest independent non-profit investigative newsroom. Our reporting is published by media partners around the world and holds power to account across five areas: environment, health, big tech, dirty money and local power.

This role will manage 2–3 of our editorial teams, providing strategic fundraising support to help them deliver journalism that drives real-world change. While the exact portfolio will be confirmed with the successful candidate, the role will initially support 2-3 of our core teams and may also contribute to work on emerging issues such as mis- and disinformation and its impact on UK communities.

Our teams include:

• Bureau Local: Works with communities across the UK to uncover hidden stories and drive accountability. Recent work includes exposing the exploitation of migrant workers, running a community-led investigation shaped by the Trans+ community, and bringing vital transparency to the family courts through reporting and mentoring.

• Enablers: Investigates the lawyers, accountants and financial structures that enable corruption and allow illicit finance to flow through the UK. Their reporting has prompted major regulatory investigations and scrutiny.

• Big Tech: Scrutinises the power and influence of major technology companies, examining issues such as moderator working conditions, surveillance, algorithmic harms, digital rights and the impact of AI on society. Our fundraising

The Bureau is almost entirely funded through grants and donations – without our supporters, we couldn’t do what we do. Over recent years, we’ve grown to a team of 35 people with an annual income of £2.8m, backed by a committed network of trusts, foundations, and individuals.

This is an exciting time to join our fundraising team as we build on those strong relationships and explore new ways to diversify our income.

Responsibilities

• Work with project leads to develop their ideas into a strong case for support, translating complex issues into powerful, accessible narratives for funders.

• Manage relationships with existing funders, ensuring timely reporting, effective stewardship and continued support.

• Research and develop a pipeline of new prospects.

• Write compelling proposals and applications to secure new grants.

• Collaborate with our other Fundraising Manager, who leads on the remaining themes, and provide support in those areas when needed.

• Support the Bureau in identifying ways to diversify our income, such as helping to grow our major donor programme.

Skills and experience

Background

Pesticide Action Network UK (PAN UK) is the only charity in the UK focused solely on tackling the problems caused by pesticides and promoting safe and sustainable alternatives in agriculture, urban areas, homes and gardens. It is an independent, non-profit organisation, which works nationally and internationally to eliminate the use of the most hazardous pesticides, reduce dependence on pesticides overall, and to increase the adoption of sustainable alternatives to chemical pest control.

Our Head of Policy & Campaigns leads our work in the UK which aims to better protect both the environment and human health from pesticide harms. Through policy work, lobbying, research, media and strategic communications, we aim to influence a range of decision makers, from the UK government and devolved administrations to local councils and the country’s biggest supermarkets. The role also includes working alongside PAN UK’s Director to secure funding to cover the UK team’s salaries, overheads and activities. It is an incredibly varied role, involving everything from leading on strategy development for the UK team while also being intricately involved in writing and editing publications and executing other activities such as events and mobilising the public.

The Head of Policy & Campaigns is part of PAN UK’s Senior Management Team (along with our Director, Head of Finance and Governance and Head of International Programmes) which sets the direction of the organisation and ensures it is well-managed and delivering on our mission. 

Specific responsibilities

1.       Advocacy, policy and campaigning

• Lead the UK team in developing advocacy strategies, and fully utilising opportunities to make progress towards achieving PAN UK’s mission.

• Conduct high quality research and analysis aimed at influencing decision makers. Ensure it is presented in a way which is both technically accurate and compelling.

• Develop and/or maintain expertise in pesticide policy with the aim of being able to represent PAN UK credibly in a range of external fora.

• Build relationships with a wide range of decision makers including government ministers and civil servants, parliamentarians, devolved administrations, local councils and supermarkets.

• Ensure that the organisation’s policy positions on UK pesticide issues are clear, well thought out and will lead to positive change.

• Find creative ways to involve the UK public in PAN UK’s work, including enabling members of the public to contact decision makers directly.

2.       Communications

• Secure media coverage for PAN UK outputs, including writing press releases and liaising with journalists. Provide written quotes for media outlets and give interviews for radio and TV.

• Write materials including policy reports, political briefings and public-facing communications such as blogs and supporter emails. Edit and sign off all outputs from the UK team, ensuring they are both well-written and accurate.

• Conduct public speaking at a range of events, from high-profile events in parliament to community gatherings (and everything in between!).

• Work closely with PAN UK’s Communications Manager to provide content for the organisation’s website and social media channels. Support the Communications Manager in their broader work which includes raising PAN UK’s public profile and leading on individual giving.

3.       Fundraising and financial management

(Please note that PAN UK does not employ fundraisers).

• Raise sufficient funds to cover the UK team’s salaries, activity costs and contribution to organisational overheads.

• Contribute to efforts to raise core funds, which are led by PAN UK’s Director.

• Identify and build relationships with new funders, particularly trusts and foundations, with the aim of securing funding.

• Maintain excellent relationships with existing funders, making sure to meet reporting deadlines.

• Follow PAN UK protocols to ensure that the UK team’s finances are well-managed.

 4.     Leadership and strategy

• Manage a high-performing team, leading on strategy development and implementation and ensuring that the team runs effectively.

• Line manage the staff of the UK team, running regular 121s, annual appraisals and generally making sure they are happy and productive.

5.       Contributing to the organisation

• Contribute to the effective and smooth running of the organisation through membership of the Senior Management Team.

• Report to the PAN UK Board of Trustees as and when required.

Essential

• At least eight years’ advocacy experience, including experience of designing, developing and implementing both policy work and public campaigns.

Trusts & Foundations fundraising is a core part of the role. Reporting to the Head of Trusts and Foundations, the postholder will be responsible for prospect research, relationship development and bid writing, securing restricted, project-based funding aligned to funder priorities. This includes contributing to cases for support and working with programme colleagues to shape fundable project ideas.

Alongside this, the role supports business partnerships work. This includes contributing to proposal decks and written materials and helping shape project ideas as businesses explore working with Hubbub. Partnerships are typically service- or project-based. Trusts & Foundations expertise is the priority, and Hubbub can support the postholder to develop experience in business partnerships over time.

As Development Manager, you will:

• Contribute to delivery against Hubbub’s annual team fundraising target, securing mainly restricted Trusts & Foundations income for specific projects, roles and the scaling of proven work.
• Grow the Trusts & Foundations pipeline, focusing primarily on new business and building relationships with both solicited and unsolicited prospects.
• Lead on prospect research to identify Trusts & Foundations that align with Hubbub’s priorities, programmes and way of working.
• Develop and write clear, well-targeted cases for support, working closely with Project Leads and Directors to shape fundable propositions.
• Write high-quality Trusts & Foundations bids and supporting materials, taking opportunities through to submission and reporting.

Person specification

Essential

• A strong track record in Trusts & Foundations fundraising, with experience personally securing high five-figure and low six-figure grants (including new business, renewals and uplifts). Examples should be clearly evidenced on your CV.
• Full-cycle experience across Trusts & Foundations fundraising, from research and cultivation through to solicitation, reporting and ongoing relationship management.
• Confidence building new funder relationships from scratch, alongside stewarding existing ones, both in person and remotely.
• Demonstrable experience researching, prioritising and converting Trusts & Foundations prospects into secured funding.
• Proven ability to develop compelling, funder-specific cases for support that respond clearly to funding criteria.

The Talent Set are delighted to partner with a fantastic health charity to recruit their Community Fundraising Manager. You will provide support for their fundraising families and individuals in the Northern Ireland region, drive new opportunities through our fundraising campaigns as well as building up their volunteer network through new and established Fundraising Groups. This is a part time role working 3 days per week (21 hours).

Key Responsibilities

· Recruiting new supporters, volunteers, and fundraising groups to raise funds for the charity

· Delivering our key fundraising campaigns such as Fundraise Your Way and Double Your Donation to maximise on relationship building and fundraising within the region.

· Delivering at least two Big Fundraiser Days out across your region to create per to peer opportunities and deepen relationships with supporters and families

· To work with the Senior Manager to develop and implement the area fundraising plan the region to support existing relationships and continue to build a sustainable volunteer led fundraising network.

· Ongoing management of supporters and volunteers including monitoring performance and identifying effective methods of motivation

· To act as the relationship manager to support Branches, Family Funds and Fundraising Groups within the region

· Monitor income and expenditure variances and implement solutions to rectify them if appropriate

Person Specification

At WeSwim, we support disabled adults to swim in welcoming, inclusive volunteer run clubs across London. For many of our swimmers, the water offers a new freedom, easing pain, building confidence, and opening up new ways to move and connect. We’re now looking for a Fundraising Officer to lead our community fundraising and individual giving efforts and help shape the future of WeSwim’s income.

We already have a strong community of swimmers and volunteers who care deeply about WeSwim. In this role, you’ll work with the community to create more fundraising activitym supporting our members to fundraise in ways that feel achievable, inclusive and meaningful. You’ll be the main point of contact for community fundraisers, creating simple tools and resources that help people feel confident getting involved.

You’ll also work closely with the CEO to develop and grow WeSwim’s individual giving and monthly donations, helping to transform our mix of income over time. 

You’ll build thoughtful supporter journeys, create simple and engaging fundraising resources, and help deliver campaigns that clearly show the impact of WeSwim’s work. No two weeks will look the same, but every week will be purposeful and people-centred.

This is a part-time role (15 hours per week) with a high level of trust, autonomy and collaboration. It’s ideal for a proactive fundraiser who enjoys building relationships, thinking creatively and taking ownership. Key Responsibilities:

Community Fundraising

Campaigns, Communications & Community Engagement

Yet it’s a disease most people have never heard of, do not understand and currently has no cure. Endometriosis UK is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Fundraising Manager to join our busy fundraising team and support our continued growth. You will line manage the Fundraising Administrator and the Stewardship and Supporter Care Officer, playing a key role in leading a friendly, ambitious team and delivering exciting plans to grow vital income.
With a strong focus on public fundraising, you will be confident managing projects across community fundraising, individual giving and legacies. You will be an experienced CRM user, up to date with fundraising regulations, and ideally bring at least two years’ experience in a fundraising management role, including line management. We are looking for a Community Fundraising Manager who will focus on leadership and net income growth of the Community Fundraising (CFR) team, who are based across the UK. The post holder will lead and manage the three regional engagement Officers, taking responsibility in actively supporting them to achieve in their posts. 

To succeed in the role, you will need entrepreneurial thinking as well as being able to collaborate with colleagues across the UK to ensure consistent support for staff and volunteers, ensuring our community fundraising activities are delivered well, in a timely manner whilst always being mindful of the return on investment.  The Community Fundraising Manager will be responsible for the delivery and growth of this area of fundraising and will be expected to meeting annual income targets and ensuring effective budget management.

You should have a strong track record in managing and developing staff, ideally having overseen regional or community-based officers, with the ability to motivate, coach, and support individuals to achieve fundraising goals. Experience in community fundraising is essential, including planning and delivering a portfolio of activities, nurturing supporter relationships, and ensuring volunteers receive consistent, high-quality support. The role also requires proven ability in budget management, forecasting, and meeting annual income targets.

Success in this role calls for an entrepreneurial and strategic mindset, capable of identifying new opportunities for income generation while ensuring strong return on investment. The post holder must be highly collaborative, able to work effectively with colleagues across regions to drive alignment and deliver well-coordinated campaigns. Strong organisational and project-management skills are key, enabling the manager to oversee multiple initiatives delivered on time and to a high standard. Ultimately, the role requires a confident leader who can balance creativity with operational excellence, ensuring the community fundraising programme continues to grow and deliver meaningful impact.

Hours of Work

Hours of work are 35 hours per week, 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Salary

The annual salary range for the post is between £35,000 up to £42,000 per annum, depending upon experience.
