The purpose of this role is to support the Centre Manager in managing the facility known as SCTC Raleigh which is hosted at HMS Raleigh. We operate within and as part of HMS Raleigh, this requires significant co-ordination and liaison across the wider team at HMS Raleigh. The purpose of SCTC Raleigh is to facilitate and support the delivery of cadet training for all organisations of the Royal Navy Cadet Forces. This role is responsible for facilities management and health and safety reporting to the Centre Manager.

Responsibilities

· To support the Centre Manager to facilitate all activity hosted at the centre

· Lead on arranging all logistics in support of the centre’s activities

· Ensure the centres facilities are maintained appropriately

· Manage the routine health and safety records and actions for the Centre Manager

• A Community Development qualification and/or transferable Community Development skills and experience.

• A basic understanding of the Asset-Based Community Development approach (ABCD) is required however full support and development of this practice and our internal ways of working will be provided.    

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships that drive action.  

• A track record of successful collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders.  

• Effective and efficient organisational and IT skills.

• The successful candidate will need to be based within a 30-minute commute of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel regularly across the wider area (travel expenses covered).  The successful candidate must possess a valid full UK driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes.  

• There will also be a requirement for occasional travel to other UK locations for meetings and events depending on the charity’s needs such as our annual all colleagues in person event.   

• The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week over 5 days, Monday - Sunday. As Head of Principal Gifts, you will play a transformative role in securing the philanthropic investments that drive groundbreaking discoveries, life-changing innovations and sustainable solutions. Your work will directly impact fields critical to shaping the future – from climate resilience and AI to global health and business innovation. Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Development: Principal Gifts and Global, you will have the opportunity to work on transformational gifts – interesting, complex gifts which will build your career.

Sporting Events Officer 

At Tommy’s, we believe every baby lost is one too many. Our mission is to make pregnancy and birth safer for all by funding pioneering research, providing expert information, and supporting families every step of the way.

We’re looking for Sporting events Officer who shares our passion and values, and who wants their work to have real impact. In this vital role, you’ll be administering multiple teams in various sporting events and delivering the best event day experiences for them.

Place of work: Nicholas House, 3 Laurence Pountney Hill, London, EC4R 0BB

Hybrid between home and office: with a minimum 2 days per week in the office for full time employees

Salary: £31,000 - £33,000

Contract type: Permanent

Reports to: Head of Sporting Events

Hours: Full time, 35 hours a week

What you’ll be doing

• Leading on the administration for all events
• Working closely with the rest of the team towards ambitious recruitment and income targets
• Be the main contact with partnered event organisers
• Lead on co-ordinating staff, volunteers and suppliers for sporting events

• Strong Excel and organisational skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive mindset
• Team player who stays calm under pressure
• Strong collaboration skills (internal and external stakeholders)
• Clear communicator with a customer-service focus
