We are looking for a ‘people person’ to assist at this weekly group: being a welcoming and encouraging presence; helping the facilitator to set up activities, and being alongside our clients while they learn new skills and have a go at different art and craft techniques.

You don’t need to be an expert – just enthusiastic to ‘have a go’ and a willingness to be creative.

 Length of term and time requirements:

We are a new Community Interest Company offering arts, gardening and wellbeing workshops to all.  We are currently running on a 100% voluntary basis and are looking for some revenue to offer more to our local communities. Do you have a few hours spare each week to help us out? Do you have previous experience with applying for funding? Do you think gardening and The Arts should be accessible to all? Aim of the post: To generate an income from local, regional and national grant pots to increase the range and effectiveness of Flourish Arts Network outreach.

Person Specification: The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience;

• Relevant qualifications, previous experience in grant / bid writing, fundraising, and excellent communication skills.
• Successful track record of achieving agreed financial income targets with a charity, CIC, social enterprise or not-for-profit organisation.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, work collaboratively and supportively as part of a team.
• Manage time effectively and work to deadlines; be organised in monitoring grants and responding to grant providers.
• Volunteer as little as two hours per week.
• Be passionate about the wellbeing of others.

Duties can include;

• Apply to a list of grant/funders which will be provided. Research potential grant providers to seek funding opportunities especially those relating to Flourish Arts Network's areas of operation.
• Determine and create plans to streamline the grants administration procedure.
• Initiate contact and write bids to raise funds to support for Flourish Arts Network.
• Liaise with grant providers to ensure receipt of applications, and get feedback for any unsuccessful bids in order to learn and develop moving forward.
• Closely track grant expenditure and monitoring for successful bids, in line with the terms of each grant received.
• Join us for for refreshements and conversations at some of our free events.

Based in the Reception of the Main Gallery, you will be the first point of contact for visitors to the Gallery, giving a warm welcome, assisting with enquiries and ensuring a high-quality visitor experience. You will also support the day to day running of the Gallery, dealing with administrative duties and supporting the Gallery Shop, sharing product information with visitors and taking sales.  

Tasks and Responsibilities  

• Welcoming and engaging visitors, providing information about the gallery and programmes  

• Responding to telephone, email and face to face enquiries  

• Being a visible presence in the Gallery space, ensuring everyone’s safety and the security of artwork and our retail space 

• Guiding visitors around the gallery and wider site 

• Assisting with sales and shop displays, including cash handling 

• Maintaining a neat and tidy reception and retail area  

• Supporting our retail work, with stocktaking, pricing and other tasks 

• Monitoring visitor numbers and contributing to evaluation initiatives  

• Representing the Gallery and Richmond Arts Service

Richmond Arts Service is based at Orleans House Gallery on the Riverside in Twickenham, promoting arts and culture through a programme of contemporary art exhibitions, festivals, events and activities for everyone in the community.

Home to the Richmond Borough Art Collection, comprising of over 4,400 artworks, at a site with a rich 300+ year history, Orleans House Gallery works with local, national and international artists and community partners to engage with the community, as we have done since 1972.   

Based in either our Main Gallery or Stables Gallery, the role is integral in providing a high-quality visitor experience by bringing our gallery spaces to life by welcoming and engaging visitors, as well as sharing your passion and the stories of our exhibitions.

• Interpreting our gallery spaces, exhibition content, the Richmond Borough Art Collection and the gallery’s history for all ages and abilities

If you're interested in theatre, museums, research, arts or culture, you may be interested in joining the Friends of the University of Bristol Theatre Collection.

We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Treasurer to join Treasurer to join our governing Council and oversee the financial health of the Friends organisation.

This voluntary role involves leading on the financial affairs of the charity, ensuring they are conducted within the legal, accounting and good practice conventions.

You don’t have to be a chartered accountant, but experience in finance, managing charity budgets, accounts, or day-to-day finance would be valuable.

The Treasurer ensures that appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are in place; and reports to the Council of Trustees about the financial health of the organisation. They work in partnership with the Chairperson and fellow trustees to ensure the financial viability, ongoing development and long-term strategy of the charity.

It provides a unique insight into theatre and live art, creative processes and broader cultural contexts.

The holistic approach to collecting archives and objects, and the interconnectedness between the collections, make it an outstanding research resource. The collection is visited and used by students, the theatre community, both professional and amateur, academics, artists, designers and historians, as well as enjoyed by members of the public - open to all and free to access. The Theatre Collection holds both Accredited Museum and Accredited Archive Service status. In 2020, its collections were Designated Outstanding by the Arts Council, England.

Volunteer Youth Support Worker

About Us 

At Mary’s Youth Club, we’re more than just a place to hang out. We’re a safe, supportive space where young people aged 10–19 can be themselves, try new things, and feel like they belong. 

From creative arts and music to games, sports, and wellbeing sessions, we run exciting drop-in activities and workshops every weekday. Everything we do is shaped by young people, with a strong focus on inclusion, creativity, and community. 

The Role 

We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to support our team in delivering fun and engaging activities for young people. No experience is needed – just a positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in! 

This role is for our Wednesday satellite session ‘Craft & Create’ delivered At Mildmay Community Centre (N16 8NA).

This role would particularly suit someone who is interested in, and able to offer, arts and craft, music or other creative sessions 

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in youth work, give back to your community, and help create a safe, welcoming environment for young people to grow and thrive. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

• Supporting young people during drop-in sessions

• Helping set up and run activities with staff 

• Being a friendly and approachable presence for young people 

• Encouraging creativity, teamwork and confidence 

• Assisting with tidying up and ensuring the space stays safe and welcoming

Established in 1856, we are proud to be the Arts University in Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City.

Founded in 1856 as Plymouth Drawing School, Arts University Plymouth offers a range of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Pre-Degree study across Art, Design and Digital Media.

Our campus is home to our creative studios, workspaces and laboratories, our public gallery, ‘MIRROR’, Fab Lab South West, and Plymouth Arts Cinema. Making Futures is the university’s flagship international research platform.

About the role

To help us take the next transformative steps in delivering our strategy, we are seeking an experienced Chair with a passion for the power of creative education and research to transform lives, societies and cultures.

This is an exciting non-executive leadership opportunity for someone who can steward the university’s governance towards our 2030 ambitions, whilst working with the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive team to navigate the ever-changing and challenging higher education sector. This role will be pivotal in maximising the institution’s potential and positively impacting students and communities.

As Chair, you will champion sustainable growth, social justice, and the empowerment of our graduates to meet tomorrow’s challenges.

Who we are looking for

This is an opportunity for a strategic leader to make a significant impact whilst advocating Arts University Plymouth’s place within the specialist HE sector.

We are seeking to appoint a Chair Designate with significant experience in governance who can lead with confidence, influence, and integrity.

The ideal candidate will work to foster a supportive environment while constructively challenging when necessary, helping us to push boundaries and achieve our goals.

The successful candidate will be an exemplary leader who champions our mission and values and who actively engages with students, staff, and other members of the Board of Governors.

The person appointed as our next Chair will demonstrate a deep commitment to inclusivity and reflect our dedication to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of their leadership.

Importantly, we hope to appoint a values-led individual to become our next Chair, who shares our passion for the university, our pride in Plymouth and the South West region, and our deep commitment to creativity and innovation.
