About the role:

To be responsible for the effective operation of the shop in the absence of the shop manager, to include: -

• Coordinating day to day running of the shop
• Optimising sales
• Maintaining effective stock processing and merchandising
• Managing and training shop volunteers
• Cash & banking
• Ensuring compliance with Trading Standards and Health and Safety

About you:

As Assistant Shop Manager you will have the opportunity to be part of a small, but dedicated and successful retail team. You’ll be a highly motivated self-starter who takes full ownership of your role. You will lead and support the Shop Volunteers in maximising the fundraising income for the shop. Concern Charity Retail in Northern Ireland:

There are currently seven Concern shops in Northern Ireland. Two of these are bookshops, one in Derry and the second is in Holywood Co. Down. The remaining four are standard charity shops and are situated in Ballycastle, Newcastle, Ormeau Rd. Belfast, Andersonstown and
Antrim Rd. Belfast. We are entering an exciting new phase of our retail shop expansion programme.

CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT

It is the nature of this post that weekend working (Saturday) and occasional additional seasonal hours are part of the normal working week. Working hours will also involve some evening work to meet the needs of the post. The Assistant Shop Manager would be recruited on the basis that they could provide flexible cover if required across the 2 or 3 of our Belfast shops.

The part time Assistant Shop Manager will work 2 days per week plus an additional 26 days annum, to provide holiday cover of an additional 3 days per week over 5 weeks, plus 11 floating days for support over public holidays or emergency - total 0.50 FTE.

• Responsible for the recording of void premises and issuing of building keys.
• Occasionally provide assistance to the Trust’s reception/office manager for general office duties and reception cover if required.

Knowledge and Experience:

• A minimum of one year’s experience in a busy property department.
• A broad understanding of commercial property or demonstrable experience of transferable skills if you are from a different sector.

The Concerts Team
The LSO’s Concerts team meticulously plans and organises all of the orchestra’s live and online performances, including the LSO’s main residency at the Barbican Centre; other UK concerts; commercial studio recordings; overseas tours; and all rehearsals.  The team develops key relationships with the LSO’s musicians, extras, conductors, composers, soloists, artist’s agents, promoters and other venues

Overall Responsibilities of the Tours Assistant/Coordinator:

• Prepare and follow up cost estimates, contracts, technical riders and invoices for tours and UK concerts 
• Coordinate logistics for overseas tours including travel, accommodation and per diem rates for the Orchestra. 
• Prepare, label and assist in distributing electronic train/flight tickets, assist in creating seating plans 
• Update and maintain the LSO diary and database (ArtsVision).
• Assist and advise players with their immigration arrangements. 
• Assist with instrument freight documents for overseas tours.
• Liaise with third parties on preparations and logistics for upcoming tours.

• At least six months of relevant experience, preferably gained in the Arts sector

The Role 

The role of Shop Manager involves actively running our new shop in Hull and implementing processes and ways of working.

As our Shop Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operation of the shop including managing a Deputy Shop Manager and team of volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures.  
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Manage and be accountable for implementing and complying with agreed shop operating policy and standards including Health and Safety and Trading Standards. 

• Be responsible for ensuring the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and window displays. 

• Be responsible for attracting and recruiting a team of new volunteers, ensuring they are well trained and take every effort to create a welcoming and happy environment. 

• Be responsible for ongoing volunteer training and engagement, ensuring the volunteer management system is actively kept up to date.

• Be responsible for ensuring the team are working towards achieving all key performance indicators. 

• Ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received). 

• Prepare and complete all shop administration including cash handling and banking functions to the highest standard, accurately and on time, always adhering to charity policy and procedures. 

• Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be ideally educated to A Level or equivalent. 

• To have experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development. 

• To have previous retail experience in charity sector or commercial sector is desirable. 

• To have experience of meeting and exceeding targets within a retail environment.

We are currently recruiting for a Patrons Manager to join our Development team on a full time permanent basis. 

The Development team is responsible for securing significant revenue income from a variety of public, private and commercial funding sources to support the ambitions of Southbank Centre, in close collaboration with all internal departments and external partners. The Patrons Manager role sits within the Philanthropy team which focuses on those gifts from individual donors, usually in excess of £5,000. They manage regular giving schemes such as our Patrons and our Commissioning Committee as well as leading on soliciting restricted major gifts for particular projects.

The successful candidates will work across a variety of responsibilities which includes but are not limited to:

• Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors with the capacity to give gifts of £5,000 and above with a focus on their individual motivations for giving, stewarding them and soliciting them according to their interests and Southbank Centre’s priorities.
• Secure regular giving from Patrons and Commissioning Committee by communicating effectively and engaging them with our work, while also developing bespoke opportunities for these donors to give beyond their annual subscriptions.
• Develop strategies to grow support for Southbank Centre from major donors including identifying new networks and presenting Southbank Centre’s work in compelling ways.
• Meet financial targets, maintain financial records and regularly review portfolio to update forecasts and budgets and identify risks and opportunities.
• Manage the Events Assistant to ensure we deliver high quality cultivation and stewardship experiences for donors and prospects which illuminate the impact of Southbank Centre’s programme.

Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors (London) - £29,000  per annum plus London Weighting (pro-rata)

Here at One Million Mentors, our aim is to ensure that every young person in the country has access to a trained mentor as they transition into adulthood. We believe that investing in mentors will help to address the skills gap agenda and improve social cohesion.

This is one of two Regional Manager roles in London; a Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors, and Regional Manager for Programme Delivery.

The Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors focuses on mentor supply, securing sufficient volunteers primarily for London and also for 1MM’s national outreach. The role is responsible for overseeing high-quality sourcing of volunteers to join as 1MM Mentors, in London and nationally. This includes partnership development, online site listing, and matching mentors/mentees, and oversight of some corporate programmes. Also to consider safeguarding measures, fundraising, meeting growth targets and leading all aspects of mentor management. The role will help to establish a pipeline in line with 1MM’s aspirations for 2024 and beyond.  This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

1MM Regional Manager for Volunteer Mentors main tasks include:

• Helping 1MM to scale by helping establish over 150 new, high quality mentoring matches each quarter. (A match means that the mentor and the mentee have completed 1MM’s training and have had their first meeting)

• Meeting all quality assurance KPIs.

• Maximising conversion, retention, and mitigate drop-off

• Providing ongoing support for key stakeholder partners, including Employers, and maintaining strong relationships.

• Securing at least one new partner per quarter.

• Becoming familiar with the 1MM Platform, using it comfortably for ongoing administration and providing support to users.

• Providing regular reports on progress related to the role.

• Potential for line-management responsibilities as the team grows.

Terms and Conditions: This is a full time role offered in London, for 6 months (continuing subject to funding). This is a hybrid role with two days working at home, two days in the London office, and one day where it is up to you.

We are looking to recruit a Visitor Experience Assistant to join our team based at our Midlands site. You will join us on a part-time, permanent basis, working 1000 hours per year (annualised contract) and in return, you will receive a salary of £11,807.78 per annum.

The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Midlands. Our purpose is to share the RAF story, past, present and future – using the stories of its people and our collections in order to engage, inform and inspire. Our Vision is to inspire everyone with the RAF story – the people who shape it and its place in our lives.

We have two public sites (London and Midlands) and a stored collection (Stafford). Our trading company and active fundraising supplement Grant in Aid which comes through the Ministry of Defence.

Purpose of the Visitor Experience Assistant role:

The Visitor Experience Assistant will deliver a range of visitor experiences, providing consistently high standards of customer care and actively support strategic priorities of the museum especially in relation to interpreting the story of the RAF and increasing commercial income.

The role is an essential element to maintain visitor and site safety and security, ensuring safety checks and monitoring are completed and reported to the Duty Manager.

This position is permanent, working 1000 hours annually. The working hours each week will be dependent on business requirements (maximum 35 hours per week during peak season and minimum 10 hours per week during off-peak season). You will work a flexible pattern which will include working some weekends, bank holidays and occasional evening/overnights.

Key responsibilities of our Visitor Experience Assistant include:

• Providing high standards of pro-active and re-active customer care, providing a warm welcome to all our visitors
• Enriching the visitor experience by pro-actively sharing your knowledge of the Museum and its collection and stories, with our visitors
• Regularly monitoring the condition and cleanliness of front of house facilities, taking corrective action and/or reporting issues, as appropriate
• Supporting in the management of volunteers working on front of house activities. • Support commercial and fundraising activities, including undertaking collections
• Understanding the Museum’s commercial activities, products and offers, and promote these to our visitors
• Discretely and sensitively safeguarding the security of visitors, colleagues and Museum assets, responding to heightened incident measures as appropriate, in line with Museum policy and procedures
• Monitoring and reporting defects associated with the Museum’s facilities, exhibits and/or interpretation
• Monitoring the safety of the Museum and visitors and comply with the Museum’s incident and accident reporting procedures
• Assisting with the effective evacuation of the Museum in the event of an emergency, in accordance with procedures

What we are looking for in our Visitor Experience Assistant:

• Demonstrable experience in customer-focused environment
• A good level of general education
• Good level of computer literacy and IT skills including Microsoft Office software
• Up to date First Aid qualification.
