As a paralegal, you will be a key member of the Legal team and will work closely with the team to provide legal support across all aspects of the organisation. This includes our various fundraising activities and campaigns, grant making, working with our partners and suppliers, and managing our contracts as an organisation. We are looking for a candidate with paralegal experience, who has a good understanding of contracts and experience in legal processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working with other members of the Legal team to help deliver quality and consistent legal and compliance support across RNIB.
- Drafting, negotiating, reviewing and advising on straightforward contracts such as NDAs and services agreements using legal precedents and guidance notes, with supervision where required.
- Advising on legal and compliance matters in line with our policies and guidance notes.
- Working with other members of the Legal team on strategic projects, litigation or disputes.
- Championing contract management across the organisation, and being an ambassador for legal matters across the wider organisation.
- With appropriate support, develop and deliver training on our legal policies, processes and guidance.
- Take day to day responsibility for electronic contract storage management.
- Support the external supplier invoicing process and management of the legal budget.
About You
You'll have:
- at least six months' experience working as a paralegal
- ideally, a law degree (or equivalent e.g. CPE, GDL) or a recognised paralegal professional qualification although this is not essential
- excellent organisational skills and be able to manage several projects and contracts
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), able to quickly adapt to using new IT tools e.g. for training, audit, invoices and trade marks.
You'll be a collaborative team member, able to build strong relationships and champion compliance with legal processes.
You'll take ownership of issues, decisions and escalations
You'll be proactive and prioritise and deliver results. Working within a team of 3 lawyers and one senior paralegal, you'll join a highly collegiate and supportive environment.

We are seeking a driven and dedicated Lead Community Advice Worker to join our community advocacy and advice service centred on the community that gathers in Gillett Square in Dalston, Hackney. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of people facing complex challenges, including poverty, homelessness, poor mental and physical health, disability, and racism and discrimination.
About Side by Side
Our Side by Side service has developed through several years of outreach on Gillett Square in Dalston. Recognising that many in the community that gathers there face severe disadvantages on multiple levels yet rarely seek support, we set about getting to know people, listening to their stories, and slowly building trust whilst offering practical help, advice and support. Now, our community advice workers are considered part of the community themselves and without hesitation, people refer themselves and their friends, neighbours and families to us for support.
The Role
As our Lead Community Advice Worker, you will provide holistic advice, advocacy, and practical support to people connected to the marginalised and excluded Gillett Square community in Dalston. You will help them access essential services, navigate welfare benefits and housing issues, and challenge decisions they believe are unjust. You will also provide guidance and supervision to one Community Advice Worker. This role involves occasional outreach in Gillett Square and through home visits.
The role is offered on a part-time, 4 day week basis (0.8 FTE) with a salary of £36,050 pro rata per annum.
We are looking for someone with:

Experience in supporting people with complex lives who face multiple disadvantages and social exclusion.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT LEAD (OASIS ASHBURTON PARK)

Oasis Ashburton Park are now in a position to employ an experienced Youth Development Lead to work alongside wider team in Croydon. The role will be focussed on the Ashburton Park area (surrounding Oasis Academies; Arena, Shirley Park and Ryeland’s) working closely with the academies as part of Oasis Ashburton Park and the ‘100 Years of Ashburton Park’ Project funded by The Heritage Lottery Fund.
As a Youth Development Lead you will;
- Develop and oversee a Youth Advisory Panel to ensure that youth voice is central to the design of our Youth Engagement Programme and the 360 Youth Centre.
- Develop and oversee the Youth Engagement Programme as part of the ‘100 years of Ashburton Park Project’ including a range of activities in and nearby to Ashburton Park, including after school drop-in’s, evening sessions, group work and one-one mentoring.
- Support the development and engagement of young people in a Food Growing Enterprise based at Ashburton Lodge.
- Work closely with Croydon Council and other partners to support young people to engage with a wide range of programmes and activities that are part of the ‘100 years of Ashburton Park Project’.
- Deliver open access sessions, group and one to one interventions with young people including; half term, afterschool, evenings and residentials, using a planned youth work curriculum.
- Line manage youth workers, sessional youth workers and youth volunteers to plan, deliver and evaluate youth work termly.
- Contribute to the development of youth work across the area and lead on specific areas of work on behalf of the team.
Amongst other requirements, the successful post holder must have:
· Relevant experience OR qualification in Youth & Community (JNC), Social Work (QSW) or SEND.
· Proven experience working with young people ‘at risk’.
· Reliability, with a flexible approach to changes and able to work unsociable hours.
· Experience of project and/or people management
