This role sits within the Philanthropy, Partnerships & Commercial (PPC) team, made up of Philanthropy & Trusts, Corporate Partnerships & Commercial, Special Events & Stewardship, and Fundraising Operations.

The focus of the Philanthropy & Trusts team is to build a solid base of support through excellent stewardship of existing trusts and major donors alongside cultivation of new prospects, reached through prospect research and the networks of senior volunteers. The key purpose of this Philanthropy Manager is to meet both financial and strategic KPIs in order ensure the long-term health of the Philanthropy pipeline. They will do this by personally managing a portfolio of key individual relationships as well as line-managing the Philanthropy Officer to deliver against their targets. This role, together with Battersea’s other Philanthropy Managers, will also work closely with senior leadership, senior volunteers and other individuals to open up networks and introduce new major donors to Battersea.

Role: Fundraising Manager

We are seeking a dynamic, creative and results-driven Fundraising Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for fundraising, relationship-building and supporting the growth of a small charity. As our Fundraising Manager, you will implement our fundraising strategy across multiple channels. You will work closely with senior leadership, colleagues and volunteers, to build and sustain our donor base while helping to diversify our funding sources.

Key responsibilities:

1. Fundraising planning and execution:

· Develop and implement fundraising plans to achieve annual income targets from diverse funding sources.

· Manage a range of fundraising activities, with a specific focus on individual giving, legacies, corporates and other philanthropic activities.

· Create compelling cases for support, donor communications, and fundraising materials.

· Explore new fundraising opportunities, particularly in the digital environment, and make recommendations for implementation.

2. Donor relationship management:

· Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors and fundraisers.

· Implement stewardship plans for donors at all levels to enhance donor retention and loyalty.

· Manage donor database and track donations, ensuring accurate records of giving and engagement.

3. Event management:

· Plan, promote, and execute fundraising events, including supporting third party events, virtual campaigns and donor engagement activities.

· Offer high quality stewardship to supporters.

· Coordinate logistics, suppliers and volunteers for events.

· Manage event budgets and track event-related income and expenses.

4. Collaboration and team support:

· Work closely with the communications and marketing teams to create fundraising campaigns and materials.

· Collaborate with senior leadership to develop fundraising priorities and strategies.

· Provide support and guidance to volunteers involved in fundraising activities.

5. Reporting and analysis:

· Monitor, evaluate, and report on fundraising performance, providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.

· Analyse trends in donor giving and provide insights for future fundraising efforts.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential attributes:

· Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a related field (ideally in a small charity setting).

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling fundraising materials and reports.

· Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

This is a new role working within Battersea’s Philanthropy & Trusts team to seek and secure new income as part of a £4-6million pound capital fundraising appeal over the next 3 years.

One of the key pillars of Battersea’s current strategy is to ensure that we continue to provide expert care for all the dogs and cats that come through our gates. One of the ways in which we do this is by investing in our facilities to ensure that they continue to meet the changing needs of the animals we care for. Our new capital fundraising appeal will help to achieve that aim.

The key purpose of this Philanthropy Manager (New Business) is to meet both financial and strategic KPIs, by cultivating a pipeline of new major donor prospects to secure significant donations for this capital campaign.

Our bright, purpose-built Therapy Centre in central Reading supports the MS community in both Berkshire and surrounding counties. This year we provided more than 15,000 treatments to over 400 families and  were thrilled to received a King's Award for Voluntary Service, equivalent to an MBE, for our life changing work.

The role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Fundraiser, with a proven track record, to take a pivotal role in securing funds to support our life changing work. 

With no NHS funding, we need to raise over £700,000 each year to support ourwork. Your success will mean we can provide the best possible support for anyone affected by MS in our community and make our ambitions a reality.  

You will

• Lead and support a small fundraising team, looking for ways to maximise use of our resources. 
• Seek, select and prioritise opportunities to raise funds and increase the Charity’s profile. 
• Regularly monitor progress and inspire our team to reach their targets and goals.
• Take the lead on Trusts, Foundations and Individual Giving and oversee supporter communication and stewardship.
• Be confident indeveloping and evaluating the income generation capability of the Charity as we seek to drive income growth

The Tours & Projects Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of several key areas of the Orchestra’s core performance activity, including but not limited to: international stand-alone concerts, tours and residencies; UK tours, engagements and festival performances; commercial recordings and special projects.

Working in a fast-paced environment as part of a friendly, fun and creative team, the role of Tours & Projects Manager provides a unique opportunity to work with leading musicians and conductors. Excellent organisational and budgeting skills, attention to detail, innovative thinking and a flexible approach to working will help you manage, develop and execute a diverse range of projects to the highest standard.

With oversight from the Senior Concerts Manager and Concerts Director, the post-holder will work closely with the Concerts Coordinators, Concerts Assistant and the Orchestra Operations Team in the delivery of outstanding performances in territories as varied as the UK, USA, Asia and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and coordinating of all international tours and residencies undertaken by the Orchestra,

• Planning and coordinating of UK-based performances, engagements and tours outside of the Orchestra’s core regional residencies.

• Planning and coordinating commercial recordings and special projects, shared with Concerts & Projects Manager, according to orchestra schedule.

• Developing and managing detailed itineraries, travel schedules, visas, freight and accommodation for musicians, artists, staff and equipment.

• Preparing project budgets, managing and maintaining set budgets and final reconciliation and invoicing, including international tax applications on behalf of the Orchestra.

• Liaising with the Orchestra’s Head of Production and Stage Managers regarding practical arrangements for all concerts and projects, including, but not limited to, stage plans, stage extensions, ATA carnet applications; truck requirements, second instruments etc.

• Liaising closely with the Orchestra Librarians on orchestrations and editions for repertoire being performed or recorded.

• Supervising the Concerts Coordinators and Assistant in the practical delivery of contracts, PPE letters, technical riders, dressing room and security lists, rehearsal venue bookings, flight and hotel lists etc.

• Keeping abreast of all relevant agreements and updates from the Association of British Orchestras and Musicians’ Union concerning touring best practice and regulation.

• Liaising with the Orchestra Committee and Artistic Committee regarding player matters as directed by Senior Concerts Manager/Concerts Director.

• Travel with the Orchestra on all international tours and attending concerts & projects within the UK as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential:

• Minimum three years’ managerial experience in classical music administration preferably with a focus on tour management

We're looking for a Rehoming Manager to embed a culture of high performance, creativity and excellent customer service at our Rehoming centre in Shoreham. Working closely with the rest of the management team, you'll manage and support the development of our rehoming team, who work tirelessly to find forever homes for the dogs in our care.

What does this role do?

As Rehoming Manager, you will:

• promote a culture of rehoming across the whole centre team, maximising the effectiveness of interactions and their conversion to adoptions,
• lead, manage and develop the rehoming team, instilling a performance based approach, focused on meeting both objective based and customer service targets,
• collaborate with other managers to optimise kennel occupation and to ensure appropriate assessment and triage of dogs is completed,
• drive a culture of continuous improvement across all public facing activities, focusing on the development and wellbeing of colleagues and a consistently positive experience for volunteers. 

Could this be you?

To be successful in this role, you'll need experience of leading a small, diverse team, with particular focus on driving high performance, delivering excellent customer service and meeting targets. You'll also need some operational management experience, with the ability to make decisions swiftly and effectively, with a solution focused approach. Excellent communication skills are essential, including the ability to have challenging conversations empathetically. Above all, you'll have a passion for rehoming dogs and the work Dogs Trust does.
 
This role can be either a live out or live in role, with accommodation accessed by a flight of stairs. This role includes working every third weekend and regular night duties 2-3 times per week.

About the role

The Project Assistant will manage day-to-day activities for the School Health Integrated Programme (SHIP), working closely with the Ministry of Health and Child Care and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. Based in Harare, with implementation in Glenview-Mufakose District, the role focuses on coordination, monitoring, documentation, reporting, and supporting capacity-building initiatives to ensure successful delivery of project targets.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate SHIP activities with ministries, partners, and schools to meet project objectives.
• Organise capacity-building sessions for health workers and school health coordinators.
• Prepare activity reports and contribute to quarterly and annual donor reports.
• Monitor project implementation through site visits and follow-up actions.
• Support outreach activities and ensure proper record-keeping systems are maintained.
• Track project expenditure and monitor budget variance for compliance and value for money.
• Represent the programme at meetings with ministries and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate patient satisfaction studies and assist with operational research.
• Support partners in planning, monitoring, and quality assurance of project delivery.
• Identify underperformance issues and implement corrective measures in consultation with partners.

Essential

• Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related discipline (postgraduate degree an advantage) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience in programme or project management, ideally within an INGO setting.
• Knowledge of public health and eye health in Zimbabwe.
• Understanding of Disability Inclusive Development and experience working with OPDs.
• Experience in monitoring and evaluation and research.
• Understanding of Zimbabwe’s health system and advocacy work.

Desirable

• Ability to work with project budgets, forecasts, and reports.
• Training needs assessment and facilitation skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Ndebele fluency is an advantage.
• Strong networking and advocacy skills.

About the role: 

We are looking for a passionate, ambitious Assistant Charity Shop Manager to join our successful team to help manage our charity shop in Old Swan. 

The Assistant Shop Manager will be an integral part of the wider Charity team.

Main Duties/Tasks: 

You will play a vital role in supporting the Shop Manager to lead, motivate, and develop a team of dedicated employees and volunteers, fostering strong community engagement and maximising the shop’s impact. This includes encouraging and harnessing the gifts of time from volunteers, goods from donors, and income from customers. As a visible and active ambassador for Alder Hey Children’s Charity on the high street, you will ensure the shop reflects the Charity’s values and purpose in all that it does. You will also support van collections and deliveries, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient transport of donated goods, while representing the Charity with enthusiasm and professionalism. 

Income generation: 

• Work with the Shop Manager to maximise sales and profits ensuring weekly targets are met. 

• Support the team to maximise income from Gift Aid on donated products. 

• Support the team to maximise income via our online platforms. 

• Support the team with arranging van deliveries/collections daily.

• Work with the wider Charity team to promote and support fundraising activities and events. 

• Explore ways to maximise sales via events, donation drives, pop-up shops etc. 

• Cash up the till at the end of shift and ensure banking documents are completed. Investigate any discrepancies and report them to the Manager. 

• Support with ensuring the money is ready and accessible for cash collection.

• Open and close the shop at the appropriate times.

Volunteers: 

• Support and management of a team of volunteers. 

• Utilise volunteer skill sets and motivate them to deliver great customer service and perform tasks in-line with charity standards. 

• Maximise the shop’s opening hours and ensure the shop is open and managed by the shop team in the absence of the Shop Manager. 

• Help to provide and support ongoing training and development for volunteers. 

• Work and treat employees, volunteers and stakeholders in accordance with the Charity’s values. 

• Health & Safety (in conjunction with Shop Manager) 

• Ensure the shop adheres to Retail Health and Safety regulations. 

• Implement good Health and Safety practices to help protect employees, volunteers, and customers. 

• Help to ensure employees and volunteers are trained in manual handling. 

• Help maintain the cleanliness of the shop and behind the scenes areas.

• Stock Control (in conjunction with Shop Manager) 

• Ensure continuous, sufficient levels of high-quality stock. 

• Be responsible for deliveries and stock controls. 

• Ensure stock is appropriate to the business and priced accordingly. 

• Maintain a rigorous process of stock rotation, ensuring rotation within expiry dates. 

• Ensure visual merchandising is a high priority, with products featured prominently in window displays. 

Customer Service: 

• Be professional, patient and have a ‘people-first’ approach to customer services. 

• Be committed to the principles of equality, diversity, and collaborative working. 

• Set high standards of cleanliness, display and merchandising.

Other Duties:

The Charity retail team are currently conducting a four-day working week trial, due to end on 30 June 2026. This means that, for example, staff previously working 37.5 hours a week are now working 30 hours a week to enable a four-day working week. The trial is monitoring the benefits of a four-day working week against productivity. We are confident that by embracing a more flexible and balanced approach to work, we can continue to create a thriving and fulfilling work environment while driving growth and success for our charity. A decision will be made before the 30 June 2026 to agree the next steps, based on an assessment of the trial period; the four-day working week trial may be ended, extended or adopted permanently.

ACCT UK is a national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people. The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools.
