Watford & Three Rivers Refugee Partnership is dedicated to supporting refugees and asylum seekers by providing immigration services, advocacy, a social hub and ESOL classes. As Communication Volunteers, you will play a key role in sharing the stories of refugees and asylum seekers, raising awareness about their challenges, and promoting the charity’s mission. As part of a team you will develop and implement communication strategies to engage supporters, attract donors, and build partnerships. This role involves managing social media, creating compelling content, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engaging content for social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tiktok), newsletters, blogs, and website updates whilst monitoring engagement and responding to comments.
- Write press releases, articles, and promotional materials to raise awareness.
- Develop partnerships with influencers, community groups, media outlets and other charities and organisations.
- Support campaigns that promote refugee rights, integration, and policy change.
- Help develop communication guidelines that ensure respectful and ethical storytelling.
- Assist in volunteer and donor engagement through impactful messaging.
- Provide updates on the charity’s work through reports, newsletters, and event promotions.
Skills & Experience
- Passion for refugee rights, humanitarian work, or social justice.

Asian MS is a national support group that offers tailored and culturally-sensitive services for Asian people with MS, their carers, friends and family. It's aimed at people whose heritage originates from South Asia.
As an Asian MS Community Engagement Volunteer you will the Group's local representative, helping us to find and attend events and reaching out to your local Asian MS community to raise awareness and extend the reach of the Group.

More than 130,000 people live with multiple sclerosis (MS) in the UK. Every one of them shares the uncertainty of life with MS. People are most likely to find out they have MS in their thirties, forties and fifties; news that can be worrying and heart breaking. MS can get steadily worse, or symptoms can come and go unpredictably throughout someone’s life.
Could you spare three hours a week to provide emotional support and information to those affected by MS? If so, the MS Helpline team would like to hear from you.
We’re the UK charity for people with MS. We’re fighting for better treatment and care to help people with MS take control of their lives, and we’re funding research that we believe will stop MS for good. We’ve already made important breakthroughs, and big advances in MS treatments are possible within our lifetimes. With your support, we will stop MS.
Time and Commitment
The MS Helpline is open from Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm. All of our MS Helpline volunteers carry out their volunteering from home and give emotional support and information to people affected by MS by telephone.
We are looking for volunteers that can commit to a 3 hour telephone shift a week.
You will be attending comprehensive helpline volunteer training programme throughout May 2025. All training sessions will be remote via Teams during weekdays between 10am-4pm. There will be pre-reading and exercise tasks to complete in between training sessions.
About you
We do not ask for previous experience although we are looking for people with good listening skills and a clear, warm telephone voice. You should have good IT skills as the role will require use of Microsoft Office such as Outlook and Teams, internal databases and call handling system.
We also ask that you have access to a confidential and comfortable working space, computer and broadband suitable for MS Helpline Volunteer role. If you are shortlisted for the role interview, we will ask you about your home and equipment set up, as unfortunately not everyone may have the appropriate set up and equipment for MS Helpline Volunteer role.

National Helpline Volunteer Role
Join our team of dedicated helpline volunteers and help change the lives of bereaved people.
Volunteers have always been, and remain at the very heart of Cruse, supporting thousands of bereaved people every year and playing an incredible role enriching so many aspects of our organisation. The National Helpline is a key service within Cruse, enabling us to support bereaved people with compassion and empathy.
As a Helpline Bereavement Volunteer, you will join a thriving volunteer community to provide emotional support, information and signposting over the phone to bereaved people. You provide this through a person-centred, empathetic and non-judgemental approach to supporting all our callers, in accordance with Cruse Bereavement Supports policies and procedures. This role is home-based only, so you must have a quiet and private space to work in, access to a computer (Tablets or iPad’s will not be suitable) and a stable Wi-Fi connection.
You must be open to communicating with a diverse range of clients over the phone and understand that some of the content of the calls may be distressing to hear. Although it may be difficult at times, the reward of being able to support someone is one of our volunteers’ main motivations for doing this role.

Trustee Role ( Branch Treasurer) RSPCA Chiltern Branch
Are you passionate about animal welfare? We are looking for an enthusiastic person who understands charity finance to support us in our mission to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and alleviate the suffering of animals.
We are looking for someone to volunteer as a Branch Treasurer for our Chiltern Branch. This role would play a vital role in supporting the Branch affairs so that it is governed and managed effectively, whilst continually having animal welfare at the forefront of our minds.
About our Branch
At RSPCA Chiltern Branch, our primary mission is to rescue and foster animals—predominantly cats—and provide financial support to pet owners in need of veterinary care. We are supported by a dedicated team of six volunteer trustees, an animal coordinator, and a full-time shop manager. Our successful charity shop in Buckingham helps funds our vital work.
We are seeking to recruit the next generation of trustees, including someone to take on the important role of Branch Treasurer. We welcome applications from people of all social and cultural backgrounds, aged 18 to 99. Our trustees play a key role in shaping our work and are passionate about improving animal welfare.
While we cover a wide area across Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, trustees do not need to live locally, as most of our work is conducted remotely through calls and regular Google Meetings. However, if you are nearby, there are opportunities to assist with occasional tasks, such as delivering donations or meeting for a friendly coffee.
If you are passionate about improving animal welfare, we would love to hear from you.
As a minimum, trustees would normally be expected to attend a monthly committee meeting lasting some 2 to 3 hours.
Primary responsibilities of the Branch Treasurer
- Implement and maintain sound financial systems.
- Take a lead role in ensuring the committee set annual financial budgets and plan the branch income and expenditure.
- Provide a written financial report for every branch meeting.
- Liaise with auditors/independent examiners regarding the production of the annual branch accounts and the treasurer’s report.
- Maintain control of all bank accounts as authorised by the committee.
- Execute and operate branch committee financial decisions and act as branch co-signatory.
- Maintain control over all branch paying-in books and receipt books and to ensure their correct use.
- In the absence of a branch box secretary, to assume responsibility for the branch network of collection boxes.
- Arrange payment of the annual branch contribution to the appropriate RSPCA fund.
- Coordinate financial control of all branch fundraising activities.
- Make quarterly VAT returns to headquarters promptly.
- Ensure the production, monitoring and annual review of the branch’s financial risk management strategy in accordance with the charity commission’s requirements.
- Liaise with branch officers, branch support specialist and Branch finance co-ordinator on Financial affairs as necessary and alert them immediately to any possible difficulties or irregularities.
- Ensure the retention and safekeeping of all branch financial documentation for the appropriate time as set by the charity commission.
What we are looking for in a volunteer
- We are particularly looking for someone who has knowledge and experience in finance, who may already understand charity finance.
- As a trustee, you would be able to dedicate the time to attend monthly committee meetings, which last approximately 3 hours.
- In between meetings, there will be additional volunteer duties such as; providing financial reports at committee meetings, monitoring the budget which has been set by the trustees for the year, processing payments, querying invoices, doing VAT returns, and processing Gift Aid claims.

Strong writing and storytelling skills, especially for science/tech topics. Experience with digital marketing tools (Mailchimp, Meta Ads, Google Analytics, Canva, etc.). Comfortable with both strategy and hands-on execution. Understanding of sustainability, tech, or marine/environmental topics is a plus. Video editing or visual content creation is a bonus.

Amnesty International UK:
Amnesty International UK operates in the UK as two distinct legal entities: Amnesty International UK Section Charitable Trust (‘the Charitable Trust’), and Amnesty International United Kingdom Section (‘the UK Section’). Each entity is governed by its own Board with the two working together and co-operating but remaining independent. Each Board operates and makes decisions based on the long-term interests of their respective entity and within the constraints imposed by applicable UK law, their separate constitutions and the overall rules of the global Amnesty International movement.
Finance, Audit and Risk Sub-Committee (FARSC):
The FARSC is a joint sub-committee of the boards of both the Amnesty International United Kingdom Section (‘Section’) and the Amnesty International UK Section Charitable Trust (‘Trust’).
The purpose of the FARSC are:
- To oversee the internal and external audit processes,
- To oversee the processes related to risk management and internal control including financial, reputational, compliance and other strategic and operational risks and controls,
- To oversee financial reporting. FARSC advises, and reports to, the Boards of Section and Trust.
