Yoga Stops Traffick is an international campaign to raise awareness of and funds for survivors of human trafficking in India. We are seeking 2 volunteers to help us improve and evolve this campaign.
What will you be doing?
Yoga Stops Traffick is an international campaign run by UK registered charity Adventure Ashram to raise awareness of and funds for survivors of human trafficking in India. Every year thousands of yoga practitioners from all corners of the globe roll out their mats, from the UK to Iceland to Costa Rica, to stand in solidarity with young survivors. The funds raised from Yoga Stops Traffick help rescue and rehabilitate survivors of human trafficking, sexual and domestic violence, modern-day slavery, and child marriage.
We are seeking 2 volunteers to improve the Yoga Stops Traffick campaign. We've been running this campaign for many years now but sadly despite the campaign's great potential, it has been less and less successful each year. We need some creative marketing and social media experts to help lift this campaign back to its full potential.
Main responsibilities of the role:
• Bring your creative social media and marketing ideas to the team to help us think of new ways to increase awareness of Yoga Stops Traffick to yoga studios and teachers in the UK and worldwide, and help us develop plans to turn these ideas into well-executed action.
• Use your corporate partnerships experience to advise us on the best ways to develop new corporate partnerships - help us identify the best potential partners for the campaign and develop plans for approaching them and developing those relationships.
• Help us plan our social media activity to increase our reach, improve our engagement levels and ultimately drive the success of this campaign.
• If you are experienced using Wordpress and skilled at improving SEO that would be an added bonus - our website has terrible SEO and ranks badly and we no longer have the skills in-house to know the best way to improve our website. However, if this is not part of your skill-set but you can improve our general marketing and social media plans - we would still be grateful for your help!
• Provide other administrative support as needed (this could include website updates, creating marketing materials, sending campaign emails, responding to campaign-related enquiries)

Through our work and collaborations, we support agencies and individuals to implement evidence-based nutrition programming, predominantly in low- and middle-income countries and in fragile and conflict-affected states.

What we do
ENN’s work includes our “Field Exchange” publication that provides up to date information from research, programme learnings, and news from the sector, generated by practitioners, and distributed to our large network of researchers, practitioners and policy makers globally. We have projects specialising in Infant Feeding in Emergencies, Wasting and Stunting, Maternal and Adolescent Nutrition and support for Small and Nutritionally at-risk Infants under six months & their mothers and also manage a peer-to-peer forum offering timely answers to the questions challenging those on the front line of providing services to treat and prevent malnutrition in the world. ENN does not directly implement programmes but works to improve the effectiveness of all nutrition practitioners by helping to shape policy and practice at global and national levels.
Our Funding
ENN receives funding from governments, UN agencies, private foundations through grants and agreements, as well as contributions from partners.
This Role
The Emergency Nutrition Network intends to expand its funding base. To do this we would like to open funding opportunities with the private and corporate sectors, new foundations and other donors that may have an interest in working to improve nutrition for people in emergency and high malnutrition contexts.
The work will involve identifying potential funding sources, developing relationships and helping to finesse opportunities that can match ENN with potential funders. This role will work with colleagues and will be closely supported by the CEO and technical team.
The position will report to the CEO.
About You
We are looking for someone who would enjoy the challenge of working with a charity to raise funds to provide support for projects and practitioners working in difficult and resource poor situations to treat and prevent malnutrition.

This is a busy role and would suit someone will excellent admin and customer care skills who has a methodical and organised approach and is able to pay attention to detail.

We know a caring, sensitive and non judgemental response can make a real difference to someone seeking support. We are looking for volunteers with good verbal, listening and communication skills, no previous experience on a helpline is required. Why we want you
We want to gain the support of people with many different experiences of the countryside to inform what we do so we can work towards a thriving countryside for everyone.
You'll join a group of enthusiastic volunteers taking actions and giving feedback that directly supports our campaigning work. Some actions will take as little as 5 minutes!
Sign up is easy - we just need a few details and then you'll join our activist pool. Please note you must be 18 or over to sign up for this role.
What you will be doing
The types of actions we’ll ask you to take part may include:
- Build our understanding of what motivates you to support our campaigns, what you’d like to see us do in the future and how best you’d like to take part through surveys and feedback
- Sign a petition, send a letter to your MP using a template or take a survey
- Read / share articles & like / share posts / blogs
- Attend an online session / webinar / training eg on lobbying
- Feedback on campaigns content (reports, website, podcasts)
The skills you need
- An interest in the countryside and environmental issues
- Willing to give feedback as part of the role
- Access to a computer, tablet or smartphone with internet
- No experience necessary!

About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Regional Development Event Volunteer for the London area. As an Event Volunteer, you will be participating in events and promoting them locally.
We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones.
About you
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally.
You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers.
You’ll be friendly and welcoming and able to work as part of a team, with flexibility to travel across London.

SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCHERS (SSR)
As a member of The Working Group research team, our Social Science Researchers (SSR) study the human rights liberties and suppressions of women and girls within each country to identify and address social issues. They implement and manage research projects, collect and analyse data, and report findings of said research. Their work helps shape IWI’s policy decisions, social reforms, and human interactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
o Understand the needs of the project, i.e. the research questions it needs to answer;
o Design an appropriate methodology to deliver the project;
o Design and write survey questionnaires;
o Apply a range of research techniques to gather relevant information, including document analysis, surveys, case studies and interviews (face-to-face, telephone and online);
o Liaise with and direct social research field interviewers to gather information;
o Gather information by directing or carrying out qualitative fieldwork;
o Conduct reviews of relevant literature and evidence;
o Analyse and evaluate research and interpret data using a range of analysis packages;
o Prepare, present and disseminate results in the form of reports, briefings, research papers and presentations;
o Offer research-based briefings and advice, which may involve writing action plans;
o Advise external bodies on social policy;
o Prepare and present tenders for new research projects or respond to research tenders prepared by others.
SKILLS
o Quantitative and qualitative research skills for undertaking tasks such as interviewing, survey design and controlled trials;
o Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills;
o The ability to think logically and creatively;
o A natural sense of curiosity to understand social issues and the impact policy can have;
o Good verbal and written communication skills, to write reports and present findings;
o Strong interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining relationships;
o Teamworking skills and the ability to work well independently;
o Confidence in using Microsoft office software and a range of digital tools and platforms;
o Project management skills to oversee all aspects of a research project right through from initial plans to the final report;
o Accuracy and attention to detail for handling data and reporting research findings;
o A flexible approach to work, with the ability to work on several different research projects simultaneously;
o Organisation skills, good time management and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS
o Fluency in English is a MUST. Additional UN languages are a plus;
o At least 4 years of research experience;
o At least 2 years of experience working for a government authority, INGO and/or private sector.
