Battersea's Global Programmes Department is looking for a Grants and Programmes Manager to manage the delivery of a portfolio of work within the Grants and Programmes function. This is an exciting time for Battersea as we expand our work to impact more dogs and cats. Over the coming five years it is planned that the size and complexity of grant making will grow, including the establishment of several multi-year programmes in the UK and abroad.
This is a senior grant making role within the Grants and Programmes team in the Global Programmes Directorate, requiring excellent experience of people management, strategic leadership and good grant making practice.
The successful postholder should be comfortable making proposals, suggesting alternative approaches and solutions, supporting the contributions of others, and advancing the collective interests of a team. They should also be comfortable working with considerable scope, and complexity and nurturing relationships with colleagues and external partners as an integral element of the role. The successful postholder should be able to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, to pose and field questions of considerable complexity and sensitivity and use discretion in carrying out a constructive and effective dialogue; they will be comfortable with proposing ideas, engaging in productive debate, supporting the contributions of others, and in other ways advancing Battersea’s strategic interests.

About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the South East Rivers Trust's Finance and Operations Team. We are a small dynamic team, sitting at the heart of the organisation. The role reports directly to the Finance Manager and will provide support in administering all financial controls and processing for the organisation. The successful applicant will come from a financial background with a strong understanding of financial principles, an accounting qualification and proficiency in Excel. They will have experience in bookkeeping, reconciling accounts as well as dealing with banking, grant applications and expenses.
The role would suit an individual, who is approachable and organised, with excellent attention to detail, able to work on their own or as part of a team. The role involves liaising and following up with all teams to ensure the data provided is accurate and timely, to support grant applications, payments and audit requirements.
To be successful, they will need to be able to multitask, be proactive and have excellent communication skills, following up and advising staff across all teams. They will need to have a positive attitude, and willingness to assist the whole team with other administrative tasks as and when required. This role is predominantly working from home, with at least one day per week, (on a Thursday), working in the office in Leatherhead.
This is a part time position, (of 3 or 4 days per week), to include Monday and Thursday (this being our in office day). There may be a requirement to pick up additional hours to support with busy periods.

Together we provide professional advice and guidance to those responsible for the care of children and vulnerable adults throughout the Church in our diocese.
The main responsibilities of the Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser are:
· To respond and manage safeguarding concerns and allegations against church officers
· Provide specialist guidance and support to parishes on safeguarding matters such as domestic abuse, child and adult at risk concerns.
· To support victims and survivors of abuse
· Work with individuals who have convictions and/or who may present a safeguarding risk, to worship safely
· To assist in the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
· To work collaboratively with parish safeguarding officers, church leaders, senior leaders and partner agencies

We are looking for a person who will bring compassion, expertise and integrity to this key role. A person who has a deep commitment to safeguarding with up to date knowledge of safeguarding practice and policy. You will have the ability to manage complex cases, communicate effectively with diverse groups and be a team player.
