Akshaya Patra is one of the world’s largest school meals charities – nourishing 2.35 million children in India every day and now expanding our impact across the UK.

Our UK after-school programme, Empower Hour, provides hot, nutritious meals and targeted tuition to children growing up in poverty – extending the school day by 60 minutes to give them the fuel, support and enrichment they need to thrive.

What began in one school in 2024 is already serving ten, and – alongside driving continued expansion in India – we are now ready to scale our delivery to reach thousands more children across the UK’s most disadvantaged communities.

To help lead this exciting phase of growth, we are seeking a Director of Finance and Operations – a senior leader who combines strong financial stewardship with operational leadership and is motivated by purpose as much as performance.

You will sit on the Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the CEO, and oversee two core portfolios:

• Programmes – overseeing Watford kitchen operations, Empower Hour delivery and holiday hunger initiatives.
• Finance and Resources – leading financial planning and reporting, systems, compliance, HR development and organisational infrastructure.

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

Working within experienced and committed teams, the Behaviour Change Worker will deliver trauma responsive interventions including one to one support and group work to prevent harm.

There is a requirement for evening working – approximately once per week to deliver group work interventions.

Key Responsibilities 

• Complete specialist risk assessments according to service guidelines and Respect standards, alongside developing personalised safety and support plans for programme participants. 

• Deliver one to one specialist behaviour change interventions for people with vulnerabilities, complex or multiple needs and those who require additional support to access our services. 

• Co-facilitate short term and long-term group work, providing a Respect accredited DVPP programme. 

• Promote the service externally and ensure our interventions are accessible. 

• Provide proactive, trauma responsive and holistic support, with a focus on increasing victim safety and reducing the risk posed by a perpetrator. 

• Work within a multi-agency framework to effect change, manage risk and ensure safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children is paramount. 

• Offer professional consultancy, training and advice to other agencies on working with perpetrators. 

• To work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the safety of the victim is held central. 

• Represent the service user voice in a multi-agency context. 

• Attend Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) and Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) meetings as required. 

General

About the role:

As Deputy Director of Audiences, you will play a pivotal role in defining and delivering our ambitious audience strategy, with a strong focus on engaging people under 35 and expanding our reach through a bold, innovative digital content programme.

You will lead the charge in:
• Bringing the Globe to audiences everywhere through compelling storytelling, and impactful data.
• Creating a vibrant, inclusive and inspiring welcome to everyone who interacts with our work.

We are on the lookout for a passionate and proactive Senior Fundraising Officer to join our small but driven team at a pivotal moment in our journey.

Working closely with the Head of Charity, you will play a key role in bringing our bold three-year strategy to life, helping us grow income across multiple streams and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of a fast-moving, high-impact charity.

You will work hand-in-hand with the Head of Charity to drive income across a diverse mix of fundraising steams, from community, events and individual giving to corporate partnerships and trusts. You will also be the friendly, first point of contact for many of our supporters, offering thoughtful stewardship, responding to enquiries, and making sure every donor feels appreciated and connected to the impact they are making.

As a key member of the team, you will work closely and collaboratively with colleagues including those in charity finance, our fund advisors and key stakeholders within the hospital senior leadership team. You’ll stay on top of budgets to inform your fundraising decisions and grow a culture of income awareness across the Charity and Trust.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We have embarked on our 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

Location: Based onsite in Crisis Skylight Merseyside, 96 Kent Street, L1 5BD

Hours: 35 per week between the hours of 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday on a rota basis

About the role

As an Engagement and Assessment Worker, you will be the first point of contact for someone who comes to Crisis for help to prevent or end their homelessness. You will:

• Welcome them to the service on site and at partner agencies,

• Listen carefully and non-judgementally to their story,

• Complete thorough Crisis and Mainstay assessments using a trauma informed approach,

• Agree realistic options and the support needed to assist them to prevent their homelessness or a pathway out of homelessness.

• Help them formulate a holistic plan and help them take the initial steps, where necessary.

• Hold a caseload of members who require short term intervention to end their homelessness.

About you

• Experience of working successfully with disadvantaged/or socially excluded groups and individuals, utilising a psychologically informed approach.

• Ability to deliver excellent customer service, ensuring accessible, welcoming, and safe ‘front of house’ environment in a busy service.

• Experience of assessing presenting needs, and an understanding of strengths-based assessments. You will have empathy and understanding of the barriers to accessing services.

• Ability to manage successful relationships with external agencies and relevant service providers and successfully advocate on members behalf.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills used to ensure accurate record keeping on a variety of Case Management Systems/Databases.

• Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to successfully manage a busy and diverse workload.

• The ability to use your own initiative to contribute to the effective running of the service and to work flexibly as part of a team.
