An exciting new opportunity has become available as we are looking for an exceptional Finance Manager to join the senior management team. The role is responsible for the organisation’s financial functioning, including forecasting, risk management, systems and financial analysis. About the Service Manager Role

The Opportunity

You will play a crucial role in supporting employees across ImpactEd Group, its trading subsidiaries, and associated companies (including TEP Services Limited). As part of the Shared Services team, you will manage and improve operational and finance systems and processes, enable employees to work efficiently, and provide high-quality management information, compliance support, and organisational oversight.

You will also play a key role in supporting the design and successful delivery of core commercial operational processes. This includes:

• Supporting Managing Directors and Sales Teams with the tracking and progression of leads and opportunities within our CRM system;

• Providing data and reports to inform sales forecasting, pricing strategies and performance KPIs;

• Assisting in financial management, forecasting, utilisation analysis, and margin reporting;

• Work closely with the Finance Manager to support the effective provision of our finance function;

• Identifying process improvements and opportunities for automation or system integration;

• Ensuring compliance with agreed protocols for sales, contracting, and cost management.

You’ll manage the day-to-day use and optimisation of commercial and operational systems (e.g., CRM, finance tools), working with colleagues across the organisation to embed scalable, sustainable ways of working. You’ll also work alongside the People team to operationalise systems that support the ImpactEd Group Employee Handbook and core internal services. Limited administrative support for the Group Directors will be a part of the role.

The Organisation

ImpactEd Group supports education and purpose-driven organisations to maximise their potential. We do this by helping our partners to be consistently impactful and operationally sustainable.

This role is within our Evaluation Practice. The evaluation team works with schools and organisations, analysing the impact of programmes and interventions to help them do more of what works and less of what doesn’t. We work with more than 1,400 schools and 80 education organisations, serving more than a quarter of million pupils. This includes helping our partners to design high-quality research projects, delivering them, and providing systems and tools for data collection, reporting and impact benchmarking.

Opportunity 1:Manager, ImpactEd Evaluation

The Manager role works across ImpactEd Evaluation. Our partners encompass education organisations such as charities, edtech organisations and government, and schools and multi-academy Trusts. We aim to deliver high-quality research and evaluation projects that help our partners make better decisions to benefit young people.

You will act as a consultant on a range of different partnerships to help partners develop their evaluation strategy and approach. For example, you could deliver independent evaluations for organisations like the Careers and Enterprise Company, Nesta or multi-academy Trusts such as Lift Schools. You will also have opportunities to contribute to development of team strategy and learning and development resources.

As a manager you will act as a project lead, delivering high-quality research projects at scale, and support the creation of specific deliverables for projects led by others. This covers the end to end of research design and delivery, including the creation of Theories of Change and evaluation frameworks, data collection and analysis, and impact reporting to help our partners learn about the effectiveness of their programmes. At manager level you will have the opportunity to take on larger-scope partnerships supported by a project sponsor at senior manager level or above.

Opportunity 2: Manager - Research Partnerships, ImpactEd Evaluation

The Manager role works across ImpactEd Evaluation but with a specific focus in our TRAPs team (targeted research and action projects). The TRAPs team are responsible for our national research projects, and work with both individual schools and groups of schools to sign them up to research cohorts: ensuring they can both contribute to a national research programme as well as gaining specific insights for their own school improvement journey.

You will act as a lead on a range of different partnerships to help partners develop their strategy and approach. For example, you could lead on the management of a key multi-academy trust, or could be supporting other team members with individual school partnerships, as well as supporting the Associate Director of TRAPs with overall research project design and planning. You will also have opportunities to contribute to development of team strategy and learning and development resources.

As a manager you will work closely with an Associate Director, lead on school group account management and support with the overall running and development of the TRAPs team.

We are open to a range of backgrounds, but would expect prior experience of research and evaluation delivery and partnership management. The Bird of Prey Project is a registered charity and multiple award-winning visitor centre and zoo working to conserve birds of prey, restore habitats and make wildlife education accessible. At this exciting time for the organisation, we are looking to recruit a new Charity Manager who can manage the visitor centre whilst working alongside the Board of Trustees to develop strategy and objectives for the charity. You will have the incredible opportunity to lead a team working to inspire the public about wildlife, develop the highest standards of bird welfare and restore populations of wild raptors.  

What is the role about?

The Charity Manager works directly with the Board of Trustees to manage the charity and visitor centre.

The visitor centre receives over 10,000 visitors per year who provide the majority of the charity’s income. The senior bird team provide a high standard of ethical raptor care to over 20 species, using restraint free management and free-flight techniques, and also deliver experiences and displays to the public. The Charity manager works to ensure that the site is safe and compliant with law & best practice, the senior bird team are provided with adequate resources and that the visitor centre is meeting goals for income generation.   

The charity’s mission is to Conserve birds of prey, restore habitats and make wildlife education accessible. The Charity Manager over-sees the staff team delivering the charity activities, ensuring work is recorded and reported correctly.

You would also be responsible for line managing both Deputy Centre Managers. You should be confident in making decisions and able to balance opportunity and risk. An ability to operate within and develop governance, finance and risk frameworks is also a key part of the role, and whilst a background with working with birds of prey or in wildlife conservation is not necessary, you should be passionate about The Bird of Prey Project’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Line manage and lead personal development of the Deputy Centre Managers.
• Overseeing income generation through visitor experience, including social media and marketing
• Develop new streams of income generation – including fundraising
• Act as company secretary and ensure our compliance with our licensing requirements, Charity Commission guidance, financial regulations, the law, and other relevant regulations/guidance/best practice.

The Service Manager will be responsible for the operations of a group of three specialist services, which support a total of seven customers with moderate to high support needs to live in their own homes. Open Door is a young people’s mental health charity that has been based in Haringey, North London for 49 years. It aims to improve mental health and life-chances of young people. We provide an ‘Open Door’ to free, high quality psychological therapy to 12–24-year-olds delivered by experienced and highly trained clinicians. A Deputy Contract Manager is to support the Cluster Manager who is responsible for the effective management of all contracts within their designated patch, including line managing the relevant frontline staff. Experience with working with Severe Learning Disability, Profound Autism, and behaviours of distress needed.

What you'll do:

• Support the Cluster Manager to drive business planning activities within your contract, ensuring relevant and challenging objective setting and ongoing performance tracking, developing turn around action plans as may be necessary
• Support the Cluster Manager, using sound financial and accounting principles, manage contract budgets to deliver on corporate and local contract financial targets
• Successfully lead and motivate the team to ensure the championing of and maintenance of a positive local culture within your service
• Work to continuously improve staff competence, ensure ownership of all staff issues and speedy and effective conflict resolution

About the role and you

The key purpose of this role is to:

• Effectively manage a portfolio or grants across all of our priority areas
• Work closely with the team, grant holders and Board members, developing strong and supportive working relationships
• Contribute to the development of our new strategy and be committed to our values and share our aspirations around best grantmaking practice

The new Grants Manager will need to be genuinely interested in grantmaking in our priority areas and will have the curiosity to learn and develop new areas of knowledge and expertise. You will need to be able to demonstrate a passion for the work of small, grassroots organisations, have emotional intelligence and strong communications skills, and also be genuinely excited about joining our team. 

This could be the right opportunity for a range of potential candidates. We value the knowledge and expertise gained through lived experience of social injustice alongside sector experience. We’re not looking for a seasoned grant maker but you will need to bring commitment to our work and vision, demonstrate experience of seeking to bring about change on tough issues, and have experience of one or more of our priority areas.

Income generation and fundraising at Solace is ambitious, dynamic and rewarding. This role is situated within the Business Development team working alongside our award-winning Communications, Partnerships & Public Affairs team.

This is an important time for Solace and we are seeking consummate professionals to help with an immediate need to secure funding for our existing services and to achieve sustainable growth and partnership working in support of our work to end violence against woman and girls.

Most importantly, the team aims to develop new responses to the changing ways in which women experience violence against them. The team is seeking to generate £2m+ net new income in the year ahead.

About the Role

In this role you will research and develop new business opportunities in line with our funding priorities and manage a portfolio of statutory and grant opportunities and funders. This will involve working with senior managers for bids on their services and conducting both internal and sector research into VAWG, health and social care, advocacy and advice. You will be required to proof read and edit the wider team’s bids, record submissions on the CRM system, and prepare reports for the senior leadership team and funders.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have measurable income generation experience in a bidding environment or writing proposals/funding applications, strong communication, written and oral skills, with experience of proof-reading, and the ability to manage multiple projects, always maintaining an excellent standard of work.

You will be dynamic and driven, able to work confidently both independently and as part of a team. You will have excellent attention to detail, be a team player who thrives under pressure and can work flexibly to deadlines. You will be numerate and confident working on project and service budgets.

This pivotal role is responsible for the operational and strategic management of all contracts in your designated patch, ensuring high-quality service delivery and positive outcomes for individuals with mental health and complex needs.
