The PR & Media team raises awareness of who we are, what we do, and the impact Marie Curie has through local and national broadcast, print and online media. This team also looks after our work with high profile supporters and celebrity ambassadors. 

The National PR Lead is responsible for the successful delivery of Public Relations and Media strategies to support a designated portfolio of work. You will play a vital role in leading priority PR workstreams. Your expertise will ensure we use the most effective PR tactics to meet team and organisational goals. 

You will be responsible for:   

• Delivering PR and media strategies for specific portfolios, leading priority workstreams, and ensuring effective tactics to meet campaign and organisational goals.  

• Leading PR strategy development, execution, and evaluation to increase brand recognition and media reach; managing campaign objectives and sharing insights for continuous improvement. 

• Identifying, training, and briefing spokespeople including senior staff. 

• Managing reactive news and news desk functions to stay ahead of media agendas. 

• Maintaining strong media relationships, ensuring consistent key message delivery, and advising on reputational risks and issues. 

• Line management and team leadership for two National Media & PR Officers. 

Key Criteria: 

• Established experience in a similar PR position, managing a news desk or a press office.   

• Experience working in a large complex environment, ideally in the charity sector.  

• Excellent understanding of national consumer media (tv, printed, online, podcasts etc) 

• Line management experience and the ability to lead teams  

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with stakeholders of all levels.  

• Ability to work unsociable hours.

This role will manage the delivery of our legacy marketing strategy across our priority markets reporting into the Global Legacy Director, and working closely with the Legacy Officers, the Direct Marketing and Digital Teams. Reporting and analyzing results to inform future learnings and strategies to drive awareness and consideration of legacy giving to IFAW.

Role and Responsibilities

The Legacy Marketing Specialist will have a global role, managing the marketing in each of our priority countries, Canada, US, UK, France, Germany, Netherlands and Australia.

• Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of all legacy campaigns across stewardship and acquisition including multi channel activity including digital, print, and events. Ensuring high-quality delivery and maximum impact.
• Work closely with and collaborate with internal teams including Direct Marketing, Design, Production and Digital as well as external agencies to develop compelling content and messaging aligned with the organisation’s brand and communication strategies.
• Monitor and report on campaign performance, analysing results and recommending new channels or strategies to grow legacy donor acquisition and retention.
• Manage the expenditure and across all legacy marketing activity and working closely with the Production team ensure cost-effective campaign delivery and adherence to financial processes.
• Deputise for the Global Legacy Director as needed and contribute to cross-team initiatives to support integrated fundraising goals.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Proven experience in UK charity of legacy marketing or fundraising across acquisition and stewardship.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and evaluation of multi-channel marketing activities across traditional and digital platforms.
• Demonstrable ability to collaborate with internal teams and external agencies, providing clear briefs and constructive feedback to deliver impactful campaigns.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create compelling content and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, measure campaign performance, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

 To provide excellent support to the Head of Operations and CEO having full regard to the charity’s objectives and priorities at all times, meeting or exceeding the Charities legal, ethical and moral standards. Myeloma UK is looking for a motivated and highly proactive Senior Policy Officer to join our Patient Advocacy team within the wider Research and Advocacy directorate. 

You will have experience in analysing, developing, and communicating complex policy issues, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritise a fast-moving and wide-ranging workload.

You will also have experience working collaboratively and building relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. 

You will have the ability to present findings and recommendations to a range of audiences and produce high-quality succinct briefings in a timely fashion, underpinned by evidence.

Empathy and sensitivity are required to work closely with patients and their families and friends.

Experience in the health charity sector, public/patient engagement work, and working on the National Institute of Health Care Excellence (NICE) and Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) consultation processes would be beneficial but not essential.

As Senior Policy Officer you will be part of the Patient Advocacy team who work to ensure that the patient voice is heard and acted upon by UK and devolved nations healthcare policy decision makers. You will represent the charity externally including national meetings with senior healthcare decision makers.

Your role is vital to developing strategic approaches to health technology appraisals (HTA), regulatory pathways (MHRA), clinical development programmes (academic and industry clinical trials) and commissioning routes to broaden access to new myeloma drug therapies and diagnostic technologies.

You will apply your skills flexibly across key policy areas including access to treatment, patient voice, stakeholder engagement and general healthcare policy and work with colleagues in communications and fundraising to make sure our supporters and the wider myeloma community understand the positive impact we make.

What the job involves

We’re looking for a Senior Supporter Journeys Executive to help us shape how our supporters experience our charity. Working at the heart of the Individual Giving team, you’ll design and deliver engaging, insight-led journeys that build loyalty, reduce attrition, and encourage long-term support.

This is an exciting time for the charity as we're delivering a new 3-year fundraising strategy with a particular focus on loyalty. In this newly created role, you'll play a key part in making sure every touchpoint, from the first welcome to ongoing engagement, feels personal, timely, and meaningful.

You'll be responsible for developing and improving multi-channel journeys for both new and existing supporters, coordinating the creation of journeys from various channels to help increase conversion. You’ll also support the design and rollout of journeys for key segments, including legacy enquirers and tribute fund donors.

Working with our data and insight colleagues, you’ll monitor journey performance using key metrics like retention and lifetime value. You'll use our CRM and Email Service Provider to identify opportunities, track activity, and coordinate testing of messaging and value propositions to maximise engagement.

As a key collaborator, you’ll work with colleagues across the organisation and with external agencies to ensure our supporter journeys are joined up and focused on the individual.  

What we want from you

This role is a great fit for someone with experience in Individual Giving, donor stewardship, or similar supporter experience roles. You'll have a strong understanding of what drives loyalty and retention, and a clear grasp of donor lifetime value.

Your project coordination skills will be essential as you manage multiple priorities across teams, ensuring clear communication and efficient delivery. We need someone who’s comfortable working with data and insight to inform decisions, using CRMs (ideally Raiser’s Edge) and email platforms like Adestra to improve supporter journeys and campaign performance. You'll also have a good working knowledge of direct marketing concepts and multi-channel delivery, including mail, email, and digital.

We're looking for an independent thinker who can not only manage projects but also proactively identify and develop new opportunities from their own observations. With your collaborative mindset, you'll be able to work effectively across teams and adapt to changing priorities, always focused on delivering an exceptional supporter experience that's insight-led and truly impactful.

About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.

The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must deeply understand how to reduce the violence that affects young people. We then have to make this information highly relevant and accessible to the people making decisions for vulnerable young people. In practice, this means we need to find out what works and what doesn’t through high quality qualitative and quantitative research into children’s lives. We then must convert this into really accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations (like schools, councils, police forces and more) can change what they do, how the systems have to change. We then need to work with and inspire those making decisions. Together, we believe we can change things permanently for children.

At the heart of this work is our new Area Leaders Programme. It provides support to local councils on what they can do in their towns and cities to change things. To work, the sessions need to be brilliantly designed with great materials and really well delivered. This is where you come in.

About the Area Leaders Programme

The Area Leaders Programme (ALP) brings together local partnerships in a town or a city to better protect children from being drawn into violence. These partnerships often include the police, youth justice services, children’s services, health, education, youth and community organisations.

We aim to do this by supporting areas to develop the five Ps of violence prevention:

• Partnerships: Build strong, accountable partnerships with clear roles, governance, and measurable goals.
• Profile: Understand the local drivers, context, and patterns of serious violence.
• People: Identify the children most at risk and ensure they get the right support at the right time.
• Places: Pinpoint high-risk locations and take action to make them safer.
• Practice: Share and apply best practice consistently across all key agencies.

About the role

As Senior Designer and Facilitator, you’ll play a vital role in shaping how ALP supports local partnerships. You’ll help turn evidence into practical action by designing engaging workshops, tools and resources that help professionals plan and work together more effectively. You will also take a leading role in facilitating active and inspiring workshops.

You’ll work closely with the ALP Change Lead, Senior Manager, our delivery partners and the wider Change team to make sure we’re constantly improving the support we offer.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Delivery

• Design creative, evidence-informed workshop plans and activities.
• Facilitate engaging workshops, both online and in person.
• Create visual tools that make complex ideas clear and easy to understand.
• Incorporate the voices and experiences of young people into ALP workshops.
• Develop and test tools that support areas to map local services, referral pathways and gaps in provision.
• Develop creative approaches to problem solving.

Collaboration and Support

• Work closely with local partnerships to help them identify challenges, opportunities and practical next steps, including creating local action plans.
• Support partnerships to navigate complexity and implement plans in the context of complex systems.
• Work as part of a collaborative, learning-oriented team, helping us continually refine our approach.

Learning and Improvement

• Capture insights from workshops and feed them back into improving the programme.
• Use design thinking to support other parts of YEF’s change work where needed.

You must have significant experience in:

• A relevant design discipline, this could be service design, systems design, speculative design, policy design or a similar field.
• Applying design skills to address social purpose and/or inequalities.
• Workshop facilitation with participants from diverse professional backgrounds.

Ideally you will also have this sort of experience (but it’s not necessary to apply):

• A formal qualification in a relevant area of design, or applying design for social purpose, or relevant experience.
• First-hand knowledge of the system that supports highly vulnerable children, particularly those at risk of or involved in violence. You understand the barriers these children face and what it takes to get them the right support.

While it’s not a criterion, we’re especially interested to hear from applicants who have lived experience of youth violence.

• This role will drive effective adoption and utilisation of digital platforms across Good Law Project, via providing knowledge and hands-on technical skills to enable campaigners and fundraisers to get the best out of these systems, guiding staff to implement best practice, and comprehensive training to empower colleagues.

Key Details
