The Communications Officer will be responsible for supporting the communications and digital team to maintain consistent and high-quality communications across our global membership, donors and external stakeholders.
They will handle the day-to-day operations of our programme communications, website, social media platforms, member community forum, asset management, email marketing, and event communication, ensuring consistent messaging and branding.
The post-holder will need to have a collaborative and inclusive spirit as this role will involve working closely and across teams within and outside Start Network. They will be a great writer, editor with good attention to detail, and an eye for design.
The Communications Officer will report to the Communications Manager and will work closely with the Digital team to ensure success of both digital and traditional communications.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Content development, publication, and dissemination

Craft and edit compelling multimedia content for a global audience including news articles, press releases, blogs, videos, and case studies

Adapt content for websites, social media, email campaigns, etc., ensuring each format is optimized for its specific audience and channel.

Plan and maintain the content calendar together with the Digital team to ensure consistent delivery and audience engagement.

Promote and disseminate content through various channels including but not limited to social media and partner platforms

Collaborate with Start Network teams, members, and hubs to transform and disseminate reports, learning materials, grants, impact stories and other resources into clear, compelling, and accessible formats.

Uphold the Start Network brand by ensuring all external facing materials is according to the brand guidelines
COMMUNICATIONS MATERIALS, AND ASSETS

Develop and maintain communication materials of Start Network including but not limited to fact sheets, brochures, marketing materials, presentations, core scripts, impact reports, guidance and templates, etc and ensure the team and members are able to effectively use them

Ensure that visibility guidelines for members and programmes are kept up to date, and work with members and hubs to ensure these are being used accordingly

Maintain the organisation and accessibility of Start Network's digital assets. This includes maintaining our digital asset platform and keeping tabs on photos, videos, presentations, logos, and other creative materials from and for members, hubs, and the Start Network team.
COMMUNICATIONS PLATFORM MANAGEMENT

Support the management of Start Network’s social media channels and manage day-to-day engagement in close collaboration with the Digital team

Lead the management of the member community by posting weekly news and updates from across our programmes and lead on the production of email newsletters and e-marketing.

Support the communications team meetings, including book diaries and setting up Zoom links when relevant.

Manage the communications inbox and ensure enquiries are dealt with swiftly.

As our Head of Brand and Health Engagement, you’ll be responsible for managing a team to produce sector-leading, highly effective, marketing campaigns and customer journeys, inspiring more people to engage with and support the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and its lifesaving work.
Every penny counts so each piece of activity needs to achieve demonstrable results, driving active support and engagement with the BHF aligned with our brand & marketing strategies. You’ll champion effectiveness within your own team and take a lead role in the development of integrated marketing communications.
Working with peers, this role will ensure the integration of activity across all the BHF’s marketing communications and challenge agencies and in-house teams to develop the most effective approach.
Crucial to making sure activity is effective and delivers against targets will be the successful leadership of the Brand and Health Engagement team – a team which will need to work at pace and with clear direction.
As part of the BHF leadership team you will identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvements in ways of working.
Working arrangements
This is a 12-month fixed term contract, covering an internal secondment.
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office.
At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least two days each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.
In addition, the role involves regular attendance at the offices of our London-based agency partners.

About you
As our perfect candidate, you bring significant marketing communications experience including briefing creative and media agencies for the development/delivery of multi-channel through the line campaigns (TV, digital, print, and social content) and end to end customer journey planning (online and offline).
A strategic and self-motivated individual who can be both innovative and creative, you have experience of tracking campaign results, ROI modelling, and managing significant creative and media budgets.
Your knowledge and expertise will span brand strategy, agency, and campaign management. - Develop, contribute to and implement impact-driven and strategic communications campaigns that build Kineara’s fundraising capacity and raise awareness of the issues

Prospectus is delighted to be collaborating with a non profit environmental think tank, developing research and analysis related to ecological limits, to recruit for an Interim Head of Communications on a 6 month contract. This role can be based in London or predominantly remotely, with an expectation for some regular in-person engagement at their London office (preference for 2 days per week in the office but some flexibility with this). Ideal start date mid-June, with a potential for this role to become permanent after the 6 months. This is a full time role but would also consider part time candidates (minimum 3 days per week).
This department operates with a largely outsourced model - this is a stand alone role with no internal team to manage (just external agencies). The Interim Head will be responsible for strategic communications and ensuring messages are delivered to key audiences, monitoring emerging trends and driving brand awareness.
