The Role

As a PBS Practitioner, you will work collaboratively across the East Midlands to deliver high-quality, evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support to individuals with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and autism in supported living and care home environments.

You will ensure all interventions align with PBS frameworks, contractual obligations, and sector best practices. Your work will focus on promoting placement stability, reducing restrictive practices, and enhancing the overall quality of life for the people we support. You will also Advocate and recommend best practice and strategies to minimise behaviours of concern and reduce incidents supporting the safety and wellbeing of customers and colleagues.

Some of the main duties of the role include:

• Taking a leading role in implementing PBS, reducing restrictive practices and ensuring that we work within regulatory requirements, national policy and sector best practice guidance.
• Managing an active caseload across several our services in the East Midlands, including completing functional behavioural assessments and the development of PBS plans tailored to individual needs.
• Co-creating proactive, person-centred interventions focusing on skill-building, environmental adaptation, and improved quality of life.
• Provide urgent reactive PBS strategies when crises arise, minimising placement breakdowns.
• Model PBS in practice by coaching support teams and delivering bespoke training sessions to empower teams.
• Deliver clinical supervision to staff teams and individual practitioners, embedding PBS and trauma-informed approaches into everyday practice.
• Facilitate incident debrief sessions—ensuring learning, emotional support, and clear action planning following incidents.
• Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, families, social workers, therapists, and commissioners to ensure coordinated, person-centred care.

What we are looking for

Our ideal candidate is a resilient PBS professional with experience influencing and supporting staff teams. You will be a compassionate, solution focused professional who has experience providing person-centred support for people with learning disabilities, autism and complex behaviour. You must have a good understanding of regulatory, legislative and compliance requirements, as well as legal frameworks such as the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and DOLS.

As an excellent communicator, both verbally and written, you will have the ability to work under pressure while remaining calm. IT skills and confident and confident use of computerised systems are required for this role. We are looking for someone with strong statistical abilities to be able to translate and analyse complex data.

Other Requirements: a valid driving Licence and access to a car.

Working Hours

You will be working alongside Support Workers due to the nature of the role so you will need to be available and have flexibility to work under project rotas, and to attend Clifton Place for trainings and meetings when needed.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping a growing program, increasing unrestricted income, and transforming the lives of disabled children across the UK.

We are seeking an Individual Giving Fundraiser to lead the delivery of our individual giving program, with a focus on multi-channel campaigns, appeals, and supporter journeys.
This role will project manage all areas of individual giving, from concept through to delivery and evaluation, working with colleagues across Fundraising, Communications and Supporter Care to maxmise income, deepen supporter engagement, and grow sustainable regular giving.

You’ll be responsible for delivering existing appeals (e.g. our Christmas Appeal and Grand Draw), developing new fundraising products, and ensuring that donors receive thoughtful and inspiring journeys.

At Newlife, we believe every child with disabilities deserves the best possible future. For over 30 years, we’ve been the UK’s leading charitable provider of specialist equipment for disabled children.

We offer an emergency response service, delivering vital items to family homes often within 72 hours. Alongside this, we run a free, nurse-staffed national helpline, provide sensory toys through our Play Pod loan scheme, and campaign for policy change.

Our unique model combines a recycling and retail operation that generates income, creates inclusive employment opportunities, and delivers significant environmental benefits. Along with Support from trusts, corporates, communities, and individuals through traditional fundraising channels.

Together, these raise c.£15m annually, with c.£4m directly funding our services. Demand continues to rise making fundraising growth more urgent and more important than ever.
We are now investing in our Fundraising team to build a sustainable, supporter-led program that sits alongside our thriving social enterprise as a core income stream.

Key Responsibilities

Individual Giving & Campaign Delivery

• Deliver the individual giving operational plan, managing all campaigns and appeals within agreed budgets and income targets.
• Lead the development and delivery of multi-channel fundraising campaigns (direct mail, digital, email, retail-linked activity etc.), ensuring integrated messaging and brand consistency.
• Support the delivery and operations of the charity lottery
• Ensure all activities comply with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice, and relevant legislation around data, privacy, consent and Gift Aid.

Donor Acquisition & Retention

• Generate and convert new donor prospects, meeting agreed acquisition and income targets.
• Design and implement a regular giving proposition to acquire and retain committed donors.
• Oversee and optimise donor journeys, ensuring excellent stewardship, cross-sell and conversion opportunities, and seamless progression across the giving pyramid.

Innovation & Insight

• Review and refine the current appeals portfolio, identifying opportunities for growth.
• Work with available data to ensure strategic decisions are evidence-based and data-driven, using segmentation and testing to maximise impact.
• Research, explore and pilot new products and approaches to widen our supporter base and increase lifetime value.
• Set and monitor KPIs, reporting on performance and return on investment.

Cross-Team Collaboration

Work closely with colleagues across fundraising to maximise income and supporter engagement.
Develop strong relationships across Newlife’s wider teams, embedding fundraising within the organisation and ensuring sensitive and thoughtful involvement of families where appropriate.

About the role  

We’re Scripture Union (SU), we’re one of the UK’s longest-established children and youth ministry organisations, and we’re looking for a creative and entrepreneurial individual with a passion for helping children and young people in our vibrant capital to explore and respond to the good news of Jesus.

You might have heard of us before if you're one of the 1.5 million+ who have attended one of our Christian holidays or missions over the years, or maybe you're one of the 40,000+ subscribers to have used our brilliant devotionals or been stirred by our exceptional bible resources. We've been at this for a fair few years... over 150 to be precise. Over this time, we’ve remained passionate about helping children and young people develop a vibrant faith in Jesus. As our name describes, the radical power of God's word has always been central to our approach.

We still do all the great stuff with resources and holidays, but in the last few years, we have sharpened our vision with a renewed focus to help the 95% of young people (primary and secondary school age) across the UK who have never stepped foot inside a church, to hear and respond to the good news of Jesus. We do this through equipping and resourcing the local church, training up volunteers from local churches (we call them ‘Faith Guides’) and collaborating with local and national partners across the UK to connect with children and young people and support them on a journey of exploring faith in a way that is relevant and meaningful.

About your team 

You’ll be joining our brilliant South Region team, which covers our largest region from Kent to Cornwall, offering numerous opportunities to contribute your expertise in a variety of contexts, from urban and suburban to coastal and rural settings. You’ll have a brilliant time getting acquainted with this rich tapestry of local and national partners. Across the south region, we currently work with 130 churches and have 150 faith guides, we’d like to see these numbers grow significantly over the next few years. 

In the south region we have the highest density of Christian holidays and festivals, with events that we organise and run directly and a variety of festival and missions that we support and partner with. You’ll have a fantastic opportunity each summer to get hands on engaged in these mission and festivals throughout the year. 

Our South Region also includes our vibrant capital, one of the most multicultural and ethnically diverse cities in the world, with over 300 languages spoken. With many like-minded missional organisations having a footprint in and around the capital, and all of the Christian movements and denominations represented here, London holds key strategic value and will be the focus of your ministry activities. You’ll be joining an exceptional and growing team of five staff. We are particularly interested in how sports, arts, and culture can be explored to further enable the mission both in London and across SU and would be particularly interested in candidates with expertise in either of these areas.
