Graphic Designer
Salary: £32,630 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Work Pattern: Full time,37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Location: Based at WWT Slimbridge, with an option for hybrid working (minimum of 1 day a week in the office).
About The Role
We are looking for a talented designer to bring our stories to life through compelling visual designs that engage our audiences across both digital and print platforms.
In this role, you’ll transform ideas into creative assets that elevate our brand, ensuring every piece of work is visually striking, strategically aligned, and consistent with our brand. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop impactful visuals, refine concepts, and maintain a cohesive look and feel throughout all marketing outputs.
Whether it’s inspiring new visitors to our 10 UK wetland sites through national campaigns, driving membership growth, or delivering successful fundraising appeals, the breadth and diversity of our work creates endless opportunities to make a meaningful impact through creativity.
This is a full time position working 37.5 hours Monday to Friday. For this role we can offer the opportunity for hybrid working (with a minimum of 1 day a week in the office and for team meetings).

The Economist Educational Foundation is a fast-growing charity on a mission to ensure that every child is empowered to think critically and communicate effectively about the world’s most complex current issues. Last year, 10,800 teachers downloaded Topical Talk lessons, reaching 532,000 children in over 86 countries. We are on track to double this number, reaching over 1 million school children by the end of 2026.
Topical Talk helps children join inspiring discussions about the news by providing weekly lessons for classroom discussions, international prizes and teacher training partnerships. Our programme has received international recognition, including from UNESCO and the Global Media and Information Literacy Awards. High-quality graphic design is central to what we do; our teachers love our resources because they are beautifully presented, designed to enhance student learning and to inspire a lifelong curiosity about the world around them.
The role
We are seeking a creative, agile and ambitious Graphic Designer to lead the visual identity of our flagship educational programme, Topical Talk Headlines.
Working three days a week, this role offers an extraordinary amount of creative freedom. Every week brings a brand-new global news story, and it will be up to you to establish its unique look and feel. From choosing typography and vibrant colour palettes to deciding between illustration and photography, you will have the autonomy to design resources that make complex, intimidating global issues accessible and engaging for young people aged 10-16 around the world.
Reporting to the Director of Programmes and working closely with our experienced in-house Designer, you will be embedded in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will partner with our expert team of ex-teacher content creators to brainstorm, iterate and deliver world-class classroom resources on tight, overlapping deadlines. While your primary focus will be Topical Talk Headlines, you will also support wider brand and marketing projects across the charity as time allows.

Bold and brilliant graphic design can bring our brand to life and supercharge our creative output to ensure more people can live well with hearing loss. This is a key role, combining creative vision and leadership, with robust project management to ensure all design work is consistently high quality, building our brand and on time and on budget.
You will work with colleagues from across the charity, on a range of digital and print projects from briefing to concept to project management to completion and assessing impact. You will also be key in building our graphic design function, continually identifying and reviewing how we can develop the team’s capabilities.

We’re looking for a creative and organised Design Officer to join our Marketing team on a FTC until August 2027. This is an opportunity to play a key role in helping people recognise The National Lottery Community Fund and understand the difference our funding makes to communities across the UK.
Working closely with the Brand Manager and colleagues across Communications and Engagement, you’ll help create clear, accessible and engaging design materials for a wide range of channels. From templates, presentations and reports to campaign assets, event materials and branded guidance, your work will help us tell our story consistently and creatively.
This role would suit someone who has a flare for design and enjoys balancing hands-on design delivery with brand stewardship, working with different teams, managing varied briefs and finding practical creative solutions in a busy organisation.
You might start the day reviewing new design requests from colleagues, then spend time creating branded assets for a campaign, presentation, report or event. Later, you may be advising a team on how to apply our visual identity, updating a template, or working with an external designer to make sure commissioned work is on brand, accessible and delivered on time.
You’ll be expected to balance hands-on design delivery with brand guidance, helping colleagues produce communications that are clear, consistent and engaging.
