Building Safety Manager
We are seeking a Building Safety Manager to lead on compliance and resident safety across a portfolio of homes within a major housing organisation.
Position: Building Safety Manager
Salary: £57,094 to £68,500 per annum depending on experience plus £1,300 car allowance
Location: London, Stratford with hybrid working
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: 3rd May 2026 at midnight

About the role
This is a high profile position within a growing building safety function, focused on protecting residents and ensuring homes are safe, compliant and well managed. You will take ownership of a portfolio of buildings and play a key role in delivering the requirements of the Building Safety Act.
You will also manage and develop a team, working closely with senior leaders and internal teams to drive strong safety standards across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the safety and compliance of a defined portfolio of residential buildings
- Leading on building safety case reports and supporting applications for Building Assessment Certificates
- Overseeing fire safety systems, M&E systems and wider building safety measures
- Reviewing risk assessments and ensuring effective mitigation of safety risks
- Procuring and managing specialist safety services in line with internal policies
- Maintaining accurate and up to date building safety data and records
- Building strong working relationships with residents, internal teams and external stakeholders
- Line managing and developing Assistant Building Safety Managers
About you
To succeed in this role, you will bring strong technical knowledge alongside excellent communication and leadership skills.
You will have:
- Experience in operational building safety within residential or similar environments
- Knowledge of fire safety systems, M&E systems and specialist safety installations
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong IT skills and experience using multiple management systems
- A Level 4 qualification in Building Safety or be working towards this
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Assistant Building Safety Manager
We are seeking an Assistant Building Safety Manager to support compliance and resident safety across a portfolio of residential buildings.
Position: Assistant Building Safety Manager
Salary: £37,451 to £45,500 per annum depending on experience plus £1,300 car allowance
Location: London, Stratford with hybrid working
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

About the role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing building safety team and support the delivery of key safety and compliance activities across a residential portfolio.
Working closely with Building Safety Managers and senior leaders, you will play an important role in ensuring buildings are safe, compliant and aligned with current legislation, including the Building Safety Act.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting Building Safety Managers with the management of building safety compliance
- Assisting with site inspections to ensure adherence to current safety regulations
- Gathering building information and supporting the preparation of Building Safety Case Reports
- Helping to ensure fire safety and wider building safety activities are tracked and recorded through the Golden Thread
- Reviewing maintenance and testing activities and identifying potential risks

Building Safety Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Housing Association based in London for a Building Safety Manager to take a leading role in ensuring resident safety and full compliance with current and emerging building safety legislation.
This is a key appointment within the organisation, offering the opportunity to shape and lead building safety strategy across a varied residential portfolio, including higher-risk buildings, and to act as a central point of accountability under the Building Safety Act.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, the Building Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, embedding, and maintaining robust building safety management systems. You will ensure that statutory obligations are met, risks are effectively managed, and residents are engaged and informed.
Key responsibilities include:
Acting as the organisation's lead professional for building safety and compliance
Implementing and maintaining Building Safety Cases and Safety Case Reports
Managing and maintaining the Golden Thread of information
Ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, and associated regulations
Leading on fire and structural safety risk management across the housing stock
Liaising with the Building Safety Regulator, Fire and Rescue Services, and other external bodies
Providing expert advice to senior leaders, boards, and operational teams
Supporting resident engagement and transparent communication on building safety matters
About You
The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, regulatory understanding, and the ability to operate confidently in a highly scrutinised environment.
You will likely have:
Significant experience in building safety, fire safety, or compliance within social housing or a regulated property environment
Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act and related legislation
Experience managing higher-risk buildings and safety case documentation
The ability to influence and challenge at senior level
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. fire safety, building safety, construction, surveying or risk management) are highly desirable.
