Founded in 2019, the Poverty Truth Network believes that this can only happen when those most impacted by poverty are at the heart of the movement to end it. Our specific contribution brings together people experiencing poverty with those with responsibilities for alleviating it. “Nothing About Us Without Us Is For Us.” 

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, we are recruiting for an Operations Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Poverty Truth Network, including the oversight of systems, staff performance and finances. 

You will be a highly motivated person with a clear leadership record; dedicated to social justice; with a proven track record of operational delivery, including financial, administrative and governance management.

Key tasks of the role:

• To form part of the Core Leadership Team, providing overall strategic leadership across the Network 
• To lead on the financial management of the Poverty Truth Network, including the delivery of Management Accounts and the production of an annual budget
• To manage the Operations Team, setting clear goals and objectives linked to the Strategic Plan
• To lead on and establish the appropriate processes to ensure high levels of staff performance and development, including appraisals and performance management 
• To develop, and where necessary implement, administrative systems which ensure effective, efficient and safe practice across the Network
• To ensure that the Network operates in line with its charitable purposes, overseeing changes to its constitution as and when necessary
• To regularly update the Charity’s policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations / legislation, providing advice to the Director and trustees as appropriate 
• To oversee the production and sharing of papers for trustees in an organised and timeous manner
• To oversee the effective running of online and in-person meetings and events for the Network, liaising with other teams as appropriate
• To lead on the delivery of the Network’s Support Grant Programme
• To deputise for the Director as and when required
• Undertake other activities as needed dependent on jobholder’s knowledge, skills and experience

This role involves working from home with some travel.

The Role:

As a member of the Work Experience team, you will play a key role in facilitating meaningful work experience placements for young people in Tower Hamlets. In this role, you'll work closely with local employers in Tower Hamlets and the City of London to support them in delivering engaging placements.

Responsibilities will include actively recruiting and onboarding new employers through phone calls, online meetings and carrying out on-site health and safety checks. In addition, you’ll support the Work Experience Manager in delivering school-based sessions, such as assemblies and Q&A drop-ins, to help prepare young people for their placements. You’ll also assist in coordinating placements at The Switch by creating schedules and supporting young people with their tasks. During delivery weeks, the team is responsible for providing responsive support to employers and schools. In case of any issues, you may be required to work from the office five days per week during these periods. 

Details:

· The role sits in the Work Experience team and reports to Work Experience Manager

· Working hours are typically 9am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, and 9am – 4pm Fridays

Our day centre service is currently open three days per-week offering respite, food and somewhere safe to be for anyone facing street homelessness. It provides advocacy and casework services to those who are vulnerably housed or homeless, supporting them to address their individual crisis and the underlying causes. What you'll do:

Payroll

Be responsible for the day to day delivery and coordination of the administration of the Payroll function, ensuring a timely and accurate payroll service is delivered to Look Ahead's employees, workers and Board members, to agreed deadlines
Produce and review any monthly exception reports to identify and rectify any payroll errors arising
Work with the HR Admin and Payroll Manager, Director of People and Director of Finance to ensure that payroll data processing reviews are rigorously and independently checked, validated and signed off
Act as liaison with internal and external auditors and other 3rd parties (as appropriate) on all matters with regard to Payroll processes, controls and systems

HR Admin

Acting as the first point of contact for all HR Admin related queries, via phone and email; responding promptly, whilst managing expectations effectively
Ensure letters for contractual changes for staff are sent out in a timely and accurate way and all relevant systems updated

The Role

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the CEO/Director will be responsible for the overall strategic, financial, and operational leadership of Chelsea Theatre. This is a hands-on role with a focus on balancing the day-to-day running of the operational activities of the venue, with essential components such as stakeholder management, community engagement and income generation. 

Key Responsibilities

The postholder will: 

• Provide leadership and responsibility for the charity’s purpose, administration and financial management plus ensure compliance with the law and regulations. 

• Generate significant earned income from one-off and repeat hirers, including local community organisations, commercial contracts, arts organisations and private hires, with a focus on high quality customer care.

About the role

The P&C Administrative Assistant will be based in our London office (two days a week), sharing time between general HR administrative and general office support duties. The role will support the People & Culture function on general HR and administrative tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities

Human Resources

• Monitoring shared P&C inbox, addressing enquires in a timely manner.
• Collecting and maintaining various HR trackers and databases.
• Providing administrative support for the recruitment process, posting job adverts, contacting candidates, scheduling job interviews and collecting recruitment related documentation.
• Assisting in the new joiner induction and on-boarding processes.
• Updating and maintaining staff records.
• Ensuring data is stored in line with principles of GDPR.
• Completing pre-employment checks, including reference, right to work, and vetting checks.
• Supporting the probationary process for new joiners (including scheduling meeting, distributing relevant documentation and collecting completed forms and feedback.
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• General Administration:
• As part of onboarding, facilitate the induction process for new joiners in the London office, including:
• Issuing access passes
• Coordinating with the TSS team on new joiner equipment
• Facilitate the DSE assessment process
• Act as a Health & Safety Officer and Fire Safety Officer for the London Office.
• Any other duties of an administrative nature

Person Specification

Essential

• Degree or equivalent work experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of basic principles of GDPR
• Methodical, accurate and organized with a keen eye for detail
• Proven ability to successfully communicate and mediate with both management and staff
• Good understanding of Microsoft Windows including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable

• Experience of using Microsoft Applications
• Experience of using Human Resources Information Systems
• Experience of working in an International NGO
• Proficiency in additional language would be advantageous
• Proven ability to successfully operate in multi-cultural environments

About the role

We are seeking a proactive and organised Finance Officer to join our small, friendly team for 1 day per week (0.2 FTE) on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role, offering a mix of home and occasional office-based working from our base in Hackney. 

Reporting to the Director, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and accurate management of our finances. You will be responsible for bookkeeping, financial reporting, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your finance skills within a supportive environment where your contribution will have a direct impact. 

We’re looking for an experienced finance administrator or officer with a strong understanding of bookkeeping and financial reporting, ideally within a charity, social enterprise or small business. You’ll possess exceptional numerical skills, a keen eye for detail, and excellent organisational and time management abilities. You’ll also be a proactive problem-solver with a warm and friendly communication style and the ability to work collaboratively within a small team.
