Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. Purpose of the Operations Manager role:
As Operations Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in the effective day to day management of key business support services including operations, IT data and premises. Key duties and responsibilities of the Operations Manager:
Operations:
- Manage the non-pay elements of the Operations Budget, including IT budget. (approximately £400K annually)

- Responsible for co-ordinating the Data Champions Group to ensure that all Data Protection Polices are kept up to date.

- Act as the ICO liaison.
- Responsible for setting GDPR training requirements

IT:
- Work with the external IT contractors to ensure effective delivery of the WA IT strategy.

The Exchange is seeking an experienced, talented and driven Venue Hire Manager to maximise venue hire income for The Exchange with responsibility for all aspects of hire events.
Situated in the Thames-side town of Erith, The Exchange is dedicated to creating opportunities for people to come together and celebrate life, craft, and community. Principle Duties:
- Venue Hire Management: Lead for all hire enquiries and bookings from initial conversations through to event delivery and after-care.
- Sales and Business Development: Proactively drive venue hire sales, convert enquiries, and reach budgeted targets, working to develop opportunities with current, returning, and prospective clients. To be conversant with the wider sector, benchmarking against competitor spaces, engaged with external networks and leading on venue hire promotion and marketing opportunities.

- Promoting the location through a variety of marketing channels such as social media.
- Responsibility for all venue hires from enquiry to bookings to on-the-day and after care. This includes supervision and scheduling of duty managers, tending to any incidents or queries, liaising with catering services and supervising their requirements and logistics, building security.
- Negotiate and agree venue hire events including final contracts, invoicing, and scheduling.
- Ensure excellent communication with all colleagues to ensure smooth event procedures and positive client outcomes, including cleaning and organising the venue and facilities pre and post event.

The Senior Grants Officer (Business Development) will join ClientEarth’s thriving and growing Business Development team. A key role for securing new grant income, the postholder will play a crucial part in the research and cultivation of potential new funder relationships, and will develop and submit winning funding proposals to trusts, foundations and institutional donors.
They will manage their own portfolio of prospective funders, and undertake detailed prospect research into the foundation donor market whilst liaising with ClientEarth’s global teams across different programme areas and geographies. Working closely with the Business Development Manager, they will identify potential alignment with ClientEarth’s strategic priorities and inform decision-making in relation to funding opportunities.

In this role, you will be managed by Alex Wright. A fundraiser for over 12 years, Alex previously worked for a range of national music charities and is a trustee of two arts education charities. As part of the Business Development Team at ClientEarth, he manages the cultivation of new relationships with trusts and foundations in the US and securing new grant income. Alex joined ClientEarth in 2024 and is based in our London office.
Main Duties
- Prospect research and pipeline development - Proactively undertake research to identify, qualify and prioritise new funding prospects/ opportunities to support the build of a pipeline of high quality leads to guide future fundraising efforts;
- Business Development and Income generation - Draft clear and compelling written fundraising materials including cases for support, funding proposals, and concept notes;
- Systems and processes - Provide timely and accurate information to the Business Development Manager on funding opportunities in their portfolio and progress with workplan, as requested, to enable accurate monitoring and reporting to the Head of Business Development;
- Understanding of ClientEarth’s programmes and funding needs
Role requirements
- Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English
- Experience of working in a fundraising or business development role for a charity, NGO, private or public entity;
- Experience of drafting compelling and successful proposals for trusts, foundations and statutory institutions and securing multi-year grants, ideally at the six-figure level and above;
- Experience of supporting the relationship development process with a new donor, from prospect research through to ask.
- Strong project management skills to lead the proposal development process to meet funder deadlines, including stakeholder management;
- Strong alignment with ClientEarth’s values and commitment to our vision, and mission and equity, diversity and inclusion strategy objectives.

About the Role
MSI is in the process of rolling out a Global Data Warehouse (GDW) using the Microsoft Modern Data Warehouse (MDW) suite of applications, principally Azure Synapse, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Power Apps and Power BI. The merger of Fight for Sight and Vision Foundation on 1st April 2023 will enable us to address both questions. By combining our strengths and expertise we’ll be the only significant national funder with the efficiency, capability, and capacity to increase investment in medical research and social improvement. Together we can mitigate both the prevalence and impact of sight loss.
We have a clear ambition, led by our CEO, Keith Valentine, who has valuable lived experience of sight loss. This ambition includes retail growth plans and an income generation strategy to open more shops over the next 5 years. We currently operate 11 shops selling donated goods, including an online eBay shop.

The East Sheen Shop Manager will play a crucial role in the future growth of our newly merged charity and the impact that we can achieve through partnership for people with sight loss.

Role Responsibilities:
Purpose of Job
· To coach, lead and manage a team of volunteers
· Drive sales performance to exceed targets, maximising cost efficiency
· Maximise shop profits through delivery of the retail strategy, including income, gift aid donor sign up and conversion, donations and other income generators.
· To achieve compliance with relevant regulation e.g., health and safety and safeguarding, whilst adhering to all policies and procedures
· To promote strong relations within the local community to enhance the profile and good name of the charity
Main Responsibilities
· To deliver shop income plan
· To achieve gift aid income objectives, donor sign up and conversion. Improving processes to deliver maximum value, coaching colleagues to success
· To support and manage volunteer pricing to ensure items are processed in line with policies and procedures, recognising and thanking the team for their contribution
· To develop a culture of ownership and follow up within own team and volunteers
· To adhere to safe, legal & secure requirements and standards for the shop, both front and back of house
· To induct, train and coach new colleagues, as evidenced through induction paperwork and development plans

· To liaise closely with the Warehouse Manager, Area Support and Volunteer Manager and Area Manager
· To role model exceptional customer service to supporters and donors, providing feedback in a timely manner

Sales and Profit
· Monitor and be accountable for sales and category performance, as well as ensure that the team are aware of and engaged in the shop’s financial performance
· Foster a creative and entrepreneurial shop environment where team members seek to maximise income in new and innovative ways both within the shop and through a variety of channels, such as community events
· Manage the team to maximise income from Gift Aid on donated products
· Ensure that all of Vision Foundation financial procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely fashion by the shop team
Shop Floor
· Ensure sourcing sufficient levels of donated stock locally in collaboration with the shop team
· Establish efficient and commercially successful stock processing systems (such as pricing, quality standards, consumer safety, stock density and culling stock), including backroom systems and ensure these are adhered to by the volunteer team. Ensure that all legal and Vision Foundation internal regulations regarding donated stock are adhered to
· Inspire the team to provide a great customer and donor experience, which enables The Vision Foundation to attract new supporters every day. Ensure that feedback, including complaints are escalated to the Area Manager within the agreed timeframes
· Empower the team to create original, appropriate and commercially successful visual merchandising displays, including shop windows
· Make sure that all procedures for the sale of new products are followed by the volunteer team (if applicable)

We are looking for an experienced professional to lead and manage YMCA East Surrey’s Childcare Services including our Early Years provision. If you are committed to make a positive difference in the lives of children - and the staff that support them - we would be delighted to hear from you.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead on service delivery, management and governance
– To provide strong leadership for the service based on a clear vision for the service, clarity of standards and outcomes to be achieved.
– With the Head of CYP support the strategic development, planning and delivery of specialist services for children and families ensuring an effective co-ordinated offer for these families is in place and to develop new childcare settings as appropriate.
– To have the primary responsibility for establishing, maintaining and developing consistent and high standards of professional and managerial competence amongst all staff involved in the delivery of Childcare in line with that of internal policies and procedures and of regulators such as Ofsted.
– To provide line management to the Service Managers and Co-ordinators and work with them to ensure they provide an effective service to children and families in Surrey.
– Maintain up to date detailed knowledge of legislation and national policy and to ensure SLT, CYP management team and the service are briefed on changes. This will include the duties and responsibilities arising from the Children’s Act 2014 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023 amongst others.
– To have lead responsibility for ensuring the Childcare operates in a way which safeguards children and is fully compliant with children’s safeguarding procedures.
Manage stakeholder engagement and financial integrity
– Lead on ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in conjunction with the Quality and Insight Manager.
– With the Head of Finance and HCYP to produce annual budgets for Childcare services and monitor them to ensure financial viability and appropriate use of charitable resources
– To ensure that key relationships and business processes are in place to improve outcomes for children and families.
– Work with the Development Manager to support the Managers and Co-ordinators to write funding bids and reports for new and existing work
– To ensure childcare services meets both national, local performance and quality indicators in an effective and timely way.

Training and Development
– Contribute to an in-house training programme for CYP staff and volunteers, which is also offered to all YMCA East Surrey staff and volunteers and key partners
– Manage, and when required, deliver in-house training sessions supported by CYP Managers and Co-ordinators
– Work with the Head of CYP and HR to develop volunteering, apprenticeship, and traineeship opportunities across the department

Job Purpose:To be responsible for the management and effective delivery of multi-disciplinary services for children and families. The aim of the services managed by this post is to provide support to children and families to help to belong, contribute and thrive within East Surrey. Also, to support the HCYP with quality, development and training for staff and volunteers across the Children and Young People services.
Hours of work: 35 hours a week,Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with flexibility
Location : YMCA Sports and Community Centre, Princes Road, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 6JJ .
Annual leave: Five weeks (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of five weeks pro-rata after six years’ service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March each year.
