What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to connect schools with powerful, practical research. You’ll take a leading role in shaping how NFER communicates with educators, using your creativity and insight to bring our work to life across digital channels.
One day you might be crafting social media content that sparks conversation among teachers, the next, you’ll be writing an email newsletter that lands just right with a headteacher seeking evidence-based ideas. You’ll help turn research into engaging, accessible summaries, so schools can quickly grasp key insights and put them into action.
You’ll also update and improve our For Schools website pages, ensuring every word is useful and user-friendly. Behind the scenes, you’ll track performance using analytics, learning what works and what could work even better. And throughout it all, you’ll collaborate with researchers, designers, and communications experts to deliver thoughtful, impactful campaigns that schools actually want to read.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential skills and experience:
- Experience in marketing communications or a related role
- Excellent writing skills and creative flair
- Confidence using digital tools such as social media platforms, Canva, Google Analytics and CRM systems

To perform this role, you’ll need the following skills:
Technical operational MEL
- Deep expertise in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) methodologies, frameworks, and global best practices.
- Advanced skills in results-based MEL design, including theory of change, indicator development, baseline assessments, impact measurement, and logframe development.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills, with experience extracting insights from large datasets (e.g., DHS, PMA), and translating findings into actionable recommendations for diverse audiences.
- Proficient in statistical software (e.g., STATA, R) and Excel, with applied experience in techniques such as Interrupted Time Series Analysis and multilevel regression.
- Skilled in using MEL platforms, digital data collection tools, and data management systems to ensure efficient and high-quality data capture and reporting.
Sector expertise
- Deep knowledge in sexual and reproductive health programming/women’s health

- Recognised thought leader, with a track record of evidence dissemination, donor engagement, and influencing global SRHR discourse.

- Demonstrated experience in building institutional knowledge systems—such as evidence libraries, learning platforms, and embedded learning practices.

Formal education/qualification
- Advanced degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related fields is essential.
- Additional qualification or formal training in research design or impact evaluation desirable

About the role
This role saves lives at sea by inspiring and motivating a team of supporter-focused professionals who deliver fantastic experiences and respond to volunteer needs in order to secure the vital income that powers our lifesaving delivery. This will suit someone who has an expanse of fundraising and leadership experience as the job will involve overseeing the community branches, shops, regional partnerships and visits delivery plans for the region as well as matrix oversight of other fundraising functions.
As the Regional Engagement Lead, you will lead engagement activity for the South West region. The South West region covers Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, West Dorset, Wiltshire, Isles of Scilly and the Channel Islands with regular travel to the Regional Base in Saltash (applicants must live within the region).
As part of the Regional Leadership Team, you will provide leadership, guidance, vision and direction to ensure your region delivers its core service in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
In this role, you will be responsible for and accountable for ensuring that the RNLI is the most loved and best-supported charity. You will also be responsible for the achievement of the income target in your region. About you
We are looking for a visionary, natural leader who loves to inspire people. Perhaps you’ve worked in a variety of fundraising leadership roles in areas such as community fundraising, charity retail and/or partnerships in other charities or organisations. Or, you may have been a Head of Fundraising in a local charity. If yes is the answer to any of these, then the Regional Engagement Lead could be the role for you.
We are looking for:
- Extensive experience of people leadership and of engaging supporters, volunteers and the general public in order to generate funds.
- Experience in leading field-based teams.
- Previous experience of being part of a senior leadership team.
- Experience working in a matrix style management organisation, adaptable to change.
- Experience in delivering and achieving a regional strategy with the flexibility to travel throughout the region at short notice.
- The ability to create, deliver and continually review a regional engagement or fundraising strategy.
- The ability to execute and deliver income targets, appropriately managing expenditure, increasing engagement and supporter conversions, cultivating relationships and experience of diversifying income streams for fundraising, retail and visitable assets.

To help drive fundraising, we’re creating a new senior role: Supporter and Community Engagement Lead. The Scottish Empty Homes Partnership Team are made up of 10 staff members. Led by our National Manager, we have a Communications, Policy and Projects branch of the team. This role falls within the Projects team.
The Scottish Empty Homes Partnership is funded by the Scottish Government and works to four overarching outcomes to bring privately owned empty homes back into use:
- Strategy: A strategic approach to bringing empty homes back into use is adopted across the country, enabling better targeting of resources and tracking of progress to bring more empty homes back into use.

The role
As Marketing Officer, you will play an important role in helping ReMind UK to realise its vision by overseeing marketing for ReMind UK. You will line manage a Content Executive and together you will design, produce and disseminate materials and communications to raise the profile of the organisation and its work, and in turn raise funding to enable ReMind UK to continue its vital research and support for people affected by dementia.
