Salford CVS (Community and Voluntary Services) is the city-wide infrastructure service for the VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) sector. We support almost 1,000 VCSE groups and organisations in Salford, with 7,000 paid staff and 62,000 volunteers between them. Leading an exciting new community engagement project, you will understand and break down barriers to physical activity and maximise provision to help residents become healthier and happier. To make this happen, we will look to you to design and deliver a far-reaching investment programme for VCSE organisations, so you can expect an extremely high profile. In particular, you will:

• Secure buy-in from diverse groups and stakeholders to make things happen.
• Bring together public bodies, investors and colleagues to secure and deploy funding.
• Manage the relationship with our core partner Salford Community Leisure.
• Constantly monitor and report on project activity.
• Find innovative ways to connect with hard-to-reach groups and increase their participation in physical activity.
• Effectively manage your time and oversee your own administration.

As you would expect, we require a confident and ambitious self-starter with:

• Experience of overseeing commissioned or grant-funded work, including reporting to partners.
• A track record of providing information to individuals and groups.
• Proven ability to conduct research, analyse data and gain clear insights.
• Outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrable flair for multi-tasking and prioritising conflicting demands.

About the role

Through Salesforce management you will drive our organisational strategy, for the benefit of colleagues, supporters and people affected by Parkinson’s. You will manage the continuous improvement of all Salesforce platforms, working with stakeholders and Operations teams to identify and help to deliver Salesforce solutions to meet user and business needs. You’ll scan the horizon for new functionality, keeping up with releases and use cases in the nonprofit sector and beyond.

What you’ll do

• Be accountable for Salesforce technical decisions for the CRM Programme and be prepared to justify those decisions to all levels in the charity.

• Define and manage the roadmap and supporting backlog for both NPC and NPSP to ensure products that will most positively impact the business and people affected by Parkinson’s are prioritised.

• Manage the roadmap and supporting backlog for the BAU Salesforce platforms (NPSP)

• Line manage, coach and develop systems administrators and provide hands on support where needed.

• Create the documentation necessary to facilitate change and to add clarity to all stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.

What you’ll bring

• Certified Salesforce Administrator is essential. Other relevant Salesforce certifications (e.g. Consultant, BA, App builder, Developer) are beneficial. 

• Extensive experience in leading technology transformation initiatives, including product development, user experience, and system integration. 

• Proven ability to manage complex technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable impact. 

• Practical understanding of Salesforce NPC, Service Cloud and NonProfit Success Pack.

• Experience with designing, testing, implementing, debugging, and supporting Salesforce integrations, APIs and applications.

The Community and Corporate Fundraising Officer will develop and manage a strong pipeline of community and business supporters, combining excellent stewardship with proactive prospecting, networking and creative fundraising approaches.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Fundraising

• Identify, develop and secure corporate partnerships, including Charity of the Year opportunities, sponsorships, payroll giving, and in-kind support.
• Build relationships with local businesses, engaging them in volunteering and staff fundraising activities.
• Prepare compelling proposals, pitches and presentations to secure new partnerships and strengthen existing ones.
• Recruit and steward local businesses for the Unpaid Carers Hub, our web-based corporate partnerships offer.

Community Fundraising

• Pro-actively grow income from local community groups, schools, clubs and faith organisations across Surrey.
• Act as an ambassador for the charity at local events, deliver talks and presentations, inspiring people to support our work.
• Support and encourage DIY/community fundraisers, providing resources and guidance to maximise income.

Events

• Plan and deliver fundraising events from concept to completion, managing budgets, logistics and marketing timelines to ensure strong ROI.
• Recruit participants for charity-led and third-party events, including running challenges and bespoke campaigns such as I’m a Director, Get Me Out of Here!.

Communications and Stewardship

• Work with the Fundraising and Communications teams to create engaging fundraising materials, content for social media, newsletters, and supporter updates.
• Deliver excellent supporter care, ensuring donations are acknowledged promptly and relationships nurtured for long-term engagement.

Data, Reporting and Administration

• Maintain accurate records on Salesforce, producing reports and data analysis to monitor progress and inform decision-making.
• Track, evaluate and report on activity, identifying learning points to improve future performance.

Other Duties

• Represent and promote Crossroads Care Surrey at networking events, business forums, and in the wider community.
• Contribute to seasonal appeals and cross-team campaigns.

Person Specification

Essential

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in fundraising within the charity sector
• Proven track record of generating income for corporate partnerships and from community fundraising groups such as Rotary clubs.
• Strong relationship management skills, with experience of building and sustaining partnerships.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including pitching and presenting.
• Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Location: On-site at Glass Door Night shelter venues in the boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham or Wandsworth 

Duration: 1 November 2025 to April 2026

Reporting to: Service Manager – Night Shelters 

Shifts available:  

• 7:00pm to 7:15am 

• 7:00pm to 8:15am (driver) 

• 9:45pm to 7:15am 

• 9:45pm to 8:15am (driver) 

Pay: £14.50 per hour, or £15.00 per hour when you are the designated driver for that shift. 

Job Purpose

As an Overnight Homeless Shelter Worker, you’ll be part of a small, professional team running Glass Door’s night shelters between November and April. Working alongside at least one other staff member, you’ll be awake and engaged throughout the night, supporting up to 35 guests who are experiencing homelessness. 

Your role is about creating a safe, calm, and welcoming space where guests can rest, feel respected, and be treated with dignity. You’ll build trust through friendly conversation, keep an eye on everyone’s wellbeing with regular checks, and step in when problems arise – from offering reassurance to someone in emotional distress, to calmly handling challenging behaviour, to calling emergency services if needed. 

Most nights are steady and focused on guest support, but there can be moments of pressure. We’ll provide training so you feel confident and prepared. You’ll also help serve a light breakfast in the morning and ensure our equipment is packed and ready for the next night – with one of you driving the van back to base.

Job Responsibilities

What You’ll Do 

You’ll be part of the overnight team making sure our night shelters are safe, supportive, and welcoming spaces for everyone staying with us. This is an awake, overnight role, you will be alert and engaged for the whole shift. Your main responsibilities will include: 

• Welcoming and supporting guests – Create a friendly, respectful atmosphere and build positive relationships with guests, volunteers, and colleagues. 

• Staying alert all night – Carry out regular checks around the shelter (every 20 minutes) to make sure guests are safe, and comfortable. 

• Responding to situations – Calmly manage any issues that arise, such as someone feeling unwell, experiencing emotional distress, or showing challenging behaviour. This may sometimes mean calling emergency services. Training will be provided. 

• Keep the shelter safe and secure – Follow all safety, security, and health and safety procedures. This includes locking and unlocking doors and making sure the space stays tidy and free from hazards. 

• Recording important information – Write clear, accurate shift reports and note any concerns or observations. Complete incident forms if needed. 

• Supporting volunteers – Offer direction and guidance to volunteers on shift so everyone works well together. 

• Enforcing behaviour expectations – Address situations where may display challenging behaviour, using a calm and respectful approach, conflict de-escalation training is provided for all staff. 

• Packing and unpacking the van – unload equipment and supplies into the van at the start of the shift and repack at the end of the night. The allocated driver will return the van to base (driver shifts are paid for an extra hour). 

• Restocking supplies – Keep an eye on essentials such as tea, coffee, and toilet paper, and restock from the van when needed. 

• Preparing a simple breakfast – In the morning, help serve drinks, toast, and porridge, and make sure guests are woken from 6am so they can leave by 7am. 

• Tidying and closing down – Gather equipment, pack it away, and ensure nothing is left behind. 

• Training and meetings – Attend occasional in-person training sessions, team meetings, or other activities. From time to time, you may be assigned online training to complete while on shift. 

• Work to a rota – Shifts will include evenings, weekends, and public holidays, so flexibility is important. 

• Help with other tasks as needed – From time to time, you may be asked to help with other reasonable tasks that keep the night shelter running smoothly. 

Person Specification 

Essential 

• A genuine commitment to providing a high standard of service and treating everyone with respect, kindness, and dignity. 

• Confidence in handling challenging behaviour calmly and respectfully. 

• Good communication skills, both spoken and written. 

• The ability to carry out manual handling tasks such as moving supplies and equipment. 

• For driver shifts: A valid driving licence for a manual vehicle and be willing to drive the Glass Door van.

The Mix Stowmarket Ltd. is an established youth charity working with young people aged 9–25 across Mid Suffolk. With a committed team, a flagship youth centre, and a trading arm, 127 Trading Ltd, operating two cafés, we’re rooted in community impact and innovation.

Overview of the role

As the organisation’s Head of Fundraising and Marketing, you will be an experienced, ambitious, enthusiastic, and dynamic professional, who is passionate about fundraising and maximising income generation.

Working closely with our new CEO and committed trustees and staff, you will develop and implement fundraising and marketing strategies that align to our vision and drive the expansion of our crucial support to young people in Suffolk.

Main Responsibilities

1. Strategic leadership

· Develop and lead the multi-channel fundraising and marketing strategy to meet agreed income targets and support 

         long-term sustainability for both The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd.

· Work closely with the CEO and Trustees, to align fundraising efforts with the strategic goals of the charity and bring               insight into income generation and stakeholder engagement.

· Actively contribute to the senior leadership team, shaping organisational policies and strategic direction, ensuring the           integration of fundraising, marketing and operational activities.

2. Fundraising and income generation

· Drive the development of diverse income streams, including major donor fundraising, corporate partnerships,                         individual giving, legacies, lotteries, community fundraising and events.

· Proactively seek new opportunities to secure long-term, multi-year funding through well-targeted funding applications           and corporate proposals.

· Build strong partner relationships with a focus on stewardship, retention, and growth.

· Monitor performance, analyse data, and drive continuous improvement.

· Chair the Fundraising sub-committee and contribute to the Data, Impact and Evidence Action Group

3. Marketing and communications

· Develop marketing materials and campaigns that effectively communicate the charity’s mission, vision and                             achievements to various audiences for both The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd.

· Lead the management of digital platforms, ensuring consistent and inspiring content across all channels, including the           website, social media, email and printed materials.

· Ensure that brand messaging is consistent, clear and aligned across The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd to enhance public             recognition and reputation.

· Grow awareness of the charity at a local and regional level, monitoring success through market research.

· Develop compelling narratives and stories of the charity’s impact to engage partners and encourage continued                     support.

4. Team leadership and development

· Lead and develop the Fundraising & Marketing team, fostering a collaborative and positive culture.

· Mentor and support team members in achieving their professional development goals, ensuring they attain business             objectives.

· Regularly monitor and review team performance to meet income generation and communication objectives.

5. Operational excellence

· Ensure compliance with data protection laws, fundraising regulations and ethical guidelines across all fundraising and           marketing activities.

· Review and improve the use of the website and develop systems to track donor engagement, monitor income and                 ensure data integrity and transparency.

· Work closely with finance and operations teams to oversee the management and monitoring of fundraising targets.
