About You and the Role

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the management and delivery of the organisation’s marketing work spanning advertising, social media, print, content creation, data capture and intelligence gathering, evaluation and reporting.

Working closely with the Head of Digital and Communications and the Design and Communications Officer, this role is instrumental in the delivery of marketing and communications strategies, and plays a role in nurturing relationships with stakeholders, including partners, artists and audiences.

The role will also be responsible for sharing intelligence and ideas to support colleagues across the organisation in identifying/developing new digital strategies to positively impact upon Modern Art Oxford’s reach, engagement, brand and profile.

Principal Responsibilities

• To work closely with the Head of Digital and Communications and in consultation with the wider team, to plan, develop, manage and deliver Modern Art Oxford’s marketing and communications strategies spanning advertising, print, content production and campaign-specific.
• Develop and manage Modern Art Oxford’s digital marketing work, with assistance from the Design and Communications Officer, including content production for social media, email marketing and website platforms.
• To manage ticketing for our public programme events using Eventbrite.
• To promote and communicate Modern Art Oxford’s artistic programme, spanning exhibitions, projects and learning work, to a diverse and broad range of audiences and stakeholders to support the organisation’s targets for visitor figures and online engagement and reach, whilst consistently protecting and building its brand and profile.
• To lead in promoting Modern Art Oxford’s commercial offer to a broad range of audiences, including our artist-designed café, our shop and our hires offer.
• To manage multiple programmes of work including content management, scheduling, project delivery and evaluation to ensure Modern Art Oxford’s communications work is delivered in an effective and timely manner.
• To gather and share intelligence to identify new and impactful methods to grow Modern Art Oxford’s communications activities in line with the organisation’s mission and business plan.
• Write effective and accurate copy for a variety of different audiences and channels.
• Lead internal content production processes to ensure high quality and accurate campaigns are produced on time and within budget.
• Support the Head of Digital and Communications in the delivery of campaign-specific projects such as fundraising activities and strategic partnerships.
• Support the Head of Digital and Communications in delivering reports for various stakeholders, including funders and the board, by the management of regular data collection processes.

General

• Liaise with external service providers and ensure high quality relationships are maintained with stakeholders such as artists, VIPs, supporters, and suppliers.
• Deploy a range of systems/technologies/approaches relevant to marketing to support colleagues in representing Modern Art Oxford appropriately and effectively.
• Recruit and line manage temporary interns and volunteer placements.
• Work with the Head of Digital and Communications and senior management colleagues to contribute personal expertise to strategic planning and report writing.
• Support the wider work of the Digital and Communications team by attending internal events where appropriate.
• Accurately manage devolved budgets, reporting regularly to the Head of Digital and Communications.

Person Specification

Essential

• A minimum of four years experience of working in a digital marketing or communications role within an arts or comparable organisation.
• Demonstrable experience of content creation and distribution across a wide range of digital platforms.
• Experience of creating printed media, including liaising with designers, printers, distributors and ad providers.
• Experience of working across multiple strands of communications work including campaigns, print, ads, social media, website management and email marketing.
• Strong knowledge of marketing analytics platforms such as social media and Google Analytics and AdWords.
• Experience of working professionally on paid social media campaigns.
• Experience of design packages, such as InDesign, Photoshop, or Canva, and content editing platforms, such as Premier Pro or CapCut.
• Excellent written, editing and verbal communication skills. Rigorous attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy.
• Excellent customer service skills both on the phone, in person and via email
• Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communications skills. Proven ability to work effectively in collaborative, complex and fast-moving environments.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills: the ability to schedule, prioritise, budget, deliver and evaluate packages of work.
• Experience of managing expenditure budgets and an understanding of financial compliance.

We are looking for a Research and Operations Manager to join our passionate fundraising team. You will play a pivotal role in driving high-value fundraising outcomes across Rethink Mental Illness and Mental Health UK by delivering a strategic, insight-led approach to prospect research and portfolio management.

Managing the Senior Philanthropy and Research Officer you will oversee the identification, qualification and prioritisation of prospects across Philanthropy, Trusts & Grants and Corporate Partnerships. You will lead on due diligence processes, prospect pipeline management, connection mapping and the development of systems and tools that enable data-driven decision-making. Working closely with senior fundraisers and the Interim Head of Trusts and Philanthropy, you will ensure teams have the intelligence and insights needed to build strong, meaningful donor relationships.

The Role

Driving Success in Our Charity Superstore

• Leading on visual merchandising and display to create a welcoming and inspiring shopping experience that reflects our brand and values.
• Ensuring efficient stock management and generation, so our shop floor is full of high-quality, desirable items that attract customers.
• Maintaining impeccable shop standards and ensuring the store layout supports both customer engagement and operational efficiency.
• Managing and being accountable for implementing and complying with agreed shop operating policy and standards including Health and Safety and Trading Standards.
• Building relationships and working closely with wider functions across the charity such as Facilities, Marketing, Volunteer, and social media teams to ensure the plans are fulfilled and executed.

• Oversee effective stockroom systems to ensure smooth processing and redistribution of donations, including identifying high-value or surplus stock for resale through online marketplaces or other Yorkshire Cancer Research stores.

• Recruiting, developing, and retaining talent, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
• Conducting regular performance development reviews for paid employees, implementing and supporting personal development and growth.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• To be educated to A Level or equivalent or have experience in a similar role at a similar level.

· To have experience of managing a large and diverse team of people/volunteers including recruitment and development.

· To have previous retail experience in the charity sector.

· To have previous experience with a high-volume Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) retailer is desirable.

· Experience of meeting and exceeding targets within a retail environment.

· Experience of opening a new shop is desirable.

· Experience in managing high-volume retail environments.

• Strong organisational and managerial skills with success in previous roles leading teams.

· A commercial mindset with proven profit and loss management.

· To be creative and forward thinking.

· To be to handle challenging situations with confidence and professionalism, finding solutions and maintaining composure under pressure.

· Confidence with technology, being able to adapt to new systems and processes to support the smooth running of Superstore operations.

· Lead on the strategic planning and implementation of income generation activities to help build sustainability of The Carers’ Centre and its services for 19,600 unpaid carers across Bath and North East Somerset.

· Develop and implement a stewardship programme for donors and funders building support and securing new income for The Carers’ Centre.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues to help deliver The Carers’ Centre vision for carers.

Income generation

· Design and deliver a diverse income generation plan to support philanthropy and fundraising in line with The Carers’ Centre Strategic Plan.

· Co-produce annual philanthropy and fundraising targets and take the lead responsibility to instigate and co-ordinate the activity that will achieve them.

· Build long-lasting relationships with key local philanthropists, donors, and funders.

· Work proactively with colleagues to research, identify and scope a portfolio of compelling projects and proposals that will appeal to donors and funders.

· Work closely with communication colleagues to develop appropriate communications campaigns and activities for different supporter groups.

Head of Individual Giving

We’re looking for an experienced and creative Head of Individual Giving to lead and grow our individual giving programme.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you’ll shape and deliver our individual giving strategy, overseeing the recruitment, retention and development of individual supporters. You’ll lead on our major appeals, including an annual national campaign to Catholic parishes across the UK.

You’ll also play a key role in developing new fundraising products, optimising donor journeys, and ensuring our CRM and data systems support excellent stewardship and insight-driven decision making. This is a senior position with significant scope to shape the programme and make your mark.

About You

We’re looking for a confident and strategic fundraiser with a strong grasp of individual giving and a collaborative approach. You’ll bring:

• Proven experience delivering successful individual giving or direct marketing campaigns in the charity sector

Overall purpose

 As the Finance Officer, you will be required to ensure that our income and expenditure records are accurate, complete, free from error and comply with both the relevant accounting standards as well as donor restrictions. This role will play a key part in ensuring that the recording of financial information is compliant and auditable, in both the finance system and CRM.

You will also work alongside the Head of Finance to support the wider organisation in its financial understanding and management. This support will focus on both the fundraising team to empower them to raise as many funds as possible, especially unrestricted funds, and the services team to ensure their financial processes are robust and efficient. You will also be expected to contribute to and uphold our outstanding culture by living and demonstrating our values of being mission-led, welcoming, entrepreneurial and collaborative.

Key responsibilities

Finance responsibilities

• Record all income and expenditure general ledger transactions in the finance system, ensuring correct coding and full supporting documentation is stored in either the finance system or in the CRM.
• Have ownership of both the sales ledger and purchase ledger, ensuring all entries are recorded accurately with the correct VAT treatment while adhering to the relevant controls.
• Ensure all staff and client expenses are captured and recorded accurately, adhere to the relevant expense policy and are paid in a timely manner.
• Prepare and post payment runs alongside the Head of Finance
• Support the Financial Accountant in the monthly bank reconciliation
• Participate in month end processes to ensure the I&E figure is accurate within the pre-determined deadline, including posting prepayments, deferrals and accruals where relevant and other accounting adjustments as needed such as grossing up of platform fees.
• Ensure all finance documentation is complete and auditable including restricted fund evidence, and ensure the relevant GAUs are tracked on salesforce.
• Capture all restricted fund income and expenditure is the finance system on a monthly basis (staff and non-staff) alongside the Financial Accountant and Head of Finance
• Understand clawback risk on grants
• Ensure Breaking Barriers is claiming gift aid where applicable and optimising opportunities to reclaim input VAT in our business/non-business VAT return
• Reconciling to third party platforms on a monthly basis including fundraising platforms and Equals
• Work with the Head of Finance to upskill the fundraising and service teams to ensure they understand necessary financial processes
• Undertake income and expenditure control activities e.g. checking for grant rejection letters and verifying changes to supplier details.
• Be the finance team’s superuser for the CRM
• Support in year-end audit and the creation of relevant notes
• Support with ad hoc projects such as the implementation of a new finance system and policy and procedure updates

Technology

• Support the Financial Accountant, Finance Director and outsourced technology provider as needed for ongoing technology support and occasional projects.

Office and facilities management

• Support the financial team and any applicable offices as needed for ongoing office and facility management

Cross-cutting

• Ensure staff are effectively onboarded and our knowledge management processes ensure that required information on the finance and ops processes is accessible and understood
