We are looking for a Community Fundraiser who has these key skills to help us raise vital income for our charity.  You will develop and deliver fundraising initiatives through partnerships with local groups, schools, associations and individuals.  This role will also involve delivering a number of fundraising events so being organised and creative is key and having a marketing focus to ensure maximum success.

You will be based at our purpose built children’s hospice just outside Maidenhead, which provides support to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families. The role involves working in close partnership with the Area Manager to ensure the effective running, development, and strategic delivery of Hestia's Redbridge Crisis Alternative Service. This includes overseeing service provision during evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays to ensure year-round availability, as well as maintaining compliance with contractual, legislative, and organisational requirements. A key part of the role is supporting Recovery Workers and Peer Support staff in helping individuals de-escalate crises, develop self-management strategies, and build resilience. The postholder will also contribute to partnership development, monitoring protocols, and service performance by managing KPIs, outcomes, and user feedback. Additionally, they will be responsible for leading meetings, reflective supervision, accurate reporting, and supporting the annual Business and Equality plans to ensure services remain responsive to customer needs.

Beyond service delivery, the role carries responsibilities for health and safety management, budget planning, and resource optimisation. It requires effective leadership in managing staff and volunteers, including recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisals, performance management, and disciplinary procedures when necessary. The postholder will also provide support to students and volunteers, and work with the Senior Management Team and external stakeholders such as NELFT NHS to strengthen strategic partnerships. They will promote co-production by fostering reciprocal relationships between staff and service users, encouraging collaboration rather than dependency. Here's what the team will be looking for:

The role requires demonstrable experience in managing services for people with mental health and complex needs, alongside expertise in staff recruitment, induction, supervision, motivation, appraisal, training, and handling disciplinary or grievance matters. Strong experience in performance monitoring and maintaining consistently high service user standards is essential. The postholder must also be capable of managing complex budgets, promoting the organisation externally, delivering presentations, and producing marketing material when needed.

In addition, the role demands an excellent understanding of mental health crisis management, community care, health and safety, welfare benefits legislation (including welfare reform), and working in partnership with statutory services. Candidates should have proven skills in assessing, implementing, and reviewing support plans, as well as strong IT proficiency, including MS Office and case management systems, to produce accurate reports and audit staff performance. Strong written and spoken English, the ability to interpret complex reports, and sound knowledge of safeguarding practices are also critical for success.

The Role

About The Role

This role will be part of our partnership with a leading bank which aims to build financial resilience and break the cycles that lead to financial exclusion and poor financial health negatively impacting people’s housing situations. You will deliver high quality housing advice and advocacy in line with the Birmingham hub’s local community priorities: supporting families experiencing homelessness, improving conditions in the Private Rented Sector and reducing barriers for those experiencing multiple disadvantages.

This will involve working alongside people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing to identify issues facing local communities.  You will plan and deliver casework to individuals and communities to resolve their housing situation, networking and engaging with community groups, local organisations and individuals to understand local housing issues and raise awareness of housing rights.

About You

You will have the ability to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communities and with all stakeholders, including running group workshops and presentations. About Sculpt UK

Sculpt is a UK-based charity with over 20 years’ experience, who support young people to shape their own future. Our vision is that we live in a society where young people can be fulfilled through their education, work and participation in wider society. The need for our work is clear given the increasing problems young people face and their lack of confidence and awareness regarding their journey into the world of work.

We run a range of bespoke programmes that work directly with young people in conjunction with partners - schools, careers hubs, employers, local government and further/higher education. Sculpt addresses interconnected areas that contribute towards our vision: Employability, Youth Voice and Leadership, and Community Action. We build the skills and experience of young people focusing on the transitions between school, education and work. What are we looking for?

Sculpt UK is hiring a bookings coordinator and youth programme officer who would deliver our direct intervention work with young people aged 12-16 with a focus on skills building around employment through our holistic work experience programmes. Approximately 75% of our under 16s work involves working with young people who have SEND or who are at risk of becoming NEET (not in employment, education or training). Training on working specifically with SEND students will be offered to the successful applicant.

The role will also manage our bookings with schools and individuals across projects. This job is a 70/30 split between Youth Programme Officer and Bookings Coordinator.

Responsibilities :

Youth Programme Officer:

• Adhere to Sculpt UK’s safeguarding practices and procedures at all time 

• Deliver funded programmes focused on youth employability, leadership and youth voice in line with Sculpt UK’s delivery style and ethos

• Work with other Youth Programme Officers to successfully to deliver projects and support in data collection required for reporting

• Use their experience and knowledge of the issues affecting young people to tailor the workshops accordingly to age, need and interest

• Facilitate workshops on topics such as communication, gender stereotypes, social media, finance & skills, teamwork

• Run mock interviews with programme participants

• Contribute to the development of a Theory of Change for each project 

• Ensure young people complete relevant entry and exit surveys 

• Undertake relevant training associated with Sculpt UK’s work included but not restricted to child protection & safeguarding

• Contribute toward and keep up to date with Sculpt UK’s internal / external communications platform such as slack, newsletters and social media

Bookings Coordinator: 

• Have a strong understanding of the USP of each programme offered by Sculpt 

• Manage booking system and calendar

• Take calls with schools and individuals about booking onto programmes 

• Manage bookings from outreach to completion of the programme 

• Book work experience days at partner organisations, including doing the associated administration

• Develop mini reports on each programme to feedback impact to schools and individuals 

• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of projects

About the role

We’re looking for a Financial Accountant with Charities SORP experience to join our Finance Team.

You will be a key member of the Finance team, responsible for supporting month end processing, maintaining the finance system, assisting in the preparation of the statutory accounts and managing audit queries, and advising on technical and charity-specific accounting queries. 

This is an exciting period of change in the finance team with the implementation of a new finance system in October (Microsoft’s Business Central) and this role will be key in supporting that implementation.

Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement are key to this role to ensure that financial data is correctly recorded and that the charity remains compliant with its regulators.

The Finance team works closely with teams from across the charity and in this role, you will often need to pick up requests flexibly and explain complex financial information to non-financial staff.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• Ensuring timeliness, accuracy and completeness of financial information recorded on the finance system. The role holder should be committed to continuous improvement of processes to ensure the financial data recorded is of the highest quality.
• Systems administrator for the key financial systems – these are SUN (General Ledger software), iPOS and JET (invoice approval and management systems) and banking platforms but a system replacement project is underway to implement Microsoft Business Central (General ledger and invoice management). Responsible for managing access rights, training new users, implementing required changes and updates, and acting as the key point of contact with the system providers.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with tax legislation, preparing the quarterly VAT return, and supporting the Head of Finance Operations in making sure that tax recovery is optimised and that the Charity’s VAT accounting methodology is regularly reviewed.
• Day-to-day management of cash in line with treasury policy including maintenance of operational cash flow forecast and making recommendations to the Head of Finance Operations for investment of cash, to ensure optimal return on investment.
• Co-ordinating the audit preparation process by supporting staff across the Charity to prepare high quality information and by preparing audit schedules for auditor review.

• Business Central experience is desirable.
