Job Description: Fundraiser Manager 

Reports to: Chief Executive

Location: Woking, Surrey (Hybrid)

Hours of work: Full-time: 35 hours per week.

The role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Community/Events fundraiser, who has a passion for the cause of homelessness. You will continue to build a sustainable Events & Community fundraising programme. The role will involve building relationships with donors and fundraisers to increase income from corporates, individuals, and legacies. 

This role plays a pivotal role in growing York Road Project’s voluntary income as well as raising awareness and brand recognition in our local area. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Chief Executive and Fundraising sub-committee to develop and implement a fundraising strategy and execution plan that meet the organisation's income targets.

• Support the Chief Executive in building relationships with major donors.

• Proactively seek out and develop new funding opportunities, with an emphasis on chasing opportunities for long-term and unrestricted income. 

• Develop a York Road Project annual fundraising event/campaign, overseeing all administrative tasks, such as mailing list preparation, guest lists, and distribution on campaign items.

• Promote ‘challenge events’ (such as the Surrey Half Marathon) and encourage supporters to take part.

• Encourage supporters to leave legacies in their wills to support the work of the organisation.

• Collaborate with other colleagues and trustees to ensure a coordinated approach to fundraising.

• Accurately record and manage donor data, keeping records up-to-date and GDPR compliant.

• Promote the idea of regular donations to our ad-hoc donors.

• Stay current on fundraising trends and techniques, act as the charity’s thought-leading expert, and drive these trends and techniques into the organisation's fundraising activities.

• Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with relevant regulation and ethical 

standards; for example, The Fundraising Regulator, The Charity Commission etc.

• Create marketing and promotional material in accordance with York Road Project branding, to support fundraising activities as required.

• Develop a volunteer program to enhance community involvement and contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives. These activities will be fundraising related, in order to engage local businesses.

• Identify opportunities to develop funding support from companies and organisations to elicit support (at local, regional, and national levels).

• Manage low risk press releases and enquiries.

• Create content for social media (and other digital channels) while always ensuring consistency in line with brand guidelines. 

• Plan and drive digital campaigns including Small Charity Week and World Homeless Day.

The Policy Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our policy agenda to ensure people affected by dementia benefit from progress in research. By leveraging expertise in policy analysis, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement, the Policy Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic policy initiatives that influence government decisions, public health priorities and research funding.

The post-holder will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including policymakers, researchers, clinicians, and people with lived experience of dementia to help make the case for increased investment in dementia research, advocate for more accessible routes to diagnosing and treating dementia and prepare health systems to be ready for future dementia treatments.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Policy development

· Develop and manage programmes of work on key strategic policy areas that position ARUK as a key influencer both nationally and internationally.  This may include the commissioning of external evidence generation.

· Provide expertise on the relevant evidence, insight, and policy context to enable the development of new innovative policy ideas and solutions that deliver on our strategic priorities.

· Manage the development of substantial and credible policy outputs, including briefings, reports, submissions to government departments and their agencies, parliamentary committees, and other UK and international organisations as appropriate.

· Work with the communications team to ensure our policy work is disseminated to our key audiences via a range of appropriate channels to maximise our reach and impact.

· Develop and maintain mechanisms to keep abreast of the policy environment.

· Analyse, interpret and make judgements on complex project activities, delegating and managing the policy advisors to achieve set deliverables through their management of day-to-day activities. As Policy and Public Affairs works in a matrix structure this may include managing deliverables with policy advisors across the team.

· Support the join-up between projects and across the wider team to ensure shared knowledge and the opportunity to maximise influence and impact.

Stakeholder engagement and management

· Develop and manage stakeholder engagement of key policy contacts.

· Actively promote patient and public involvement in the development and delivery of projects.

· Work with Public Affairs colleagues to strengthen existing and emerging relationships with political and other parliamentary stakeholders to maximise the impact of our policy work.

· Attend external working groups and help develop partnerships beneficial to ARUK.

· Work with other charities to ensure ARUK is playing a leadership role in shaping government medical research policy.

Research and data analysis

· Oversee the analysis of necessary data and understanding, working with other ARUK colleagues, to produce accurate, timely and insightful policy materials, briefings and media stories.

Line Management Responsibilities

· Line manage and develop a Policy Advisor, providing coaching, mentoring and performance management as appropriate.

· Work with Senior Policy Manager and other Managers to support our team mission, wider team development and our commitment to excellence.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a SQL Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. This position is based in the Information Management and Technology department and answers to the Business Intelligence Development Manager.

The post holder will take a prominent role in developing a varied suite of Business Intelligence solutions as well as maintaining existing solutions, primarily using Microsoft SQL Server based tools. Work will span the full range of data processes, from system integration to developing and populating data warehouses through to developing user reports. About you

The Role

Based either at our Head Office in Basingstoke, Hampshire, remotely or hybrid, you will lead and manage the development and delivery of income growth from corporate partnerships.

In this fast-paced and exciting role, you’ll be proactively identifying and securing new partnerships, whilst nurturing and maintaining existing relationships. Working with the wider engagement and fundraising team, you will ensure donors receive the best experience and an integrated and joined up fundraising plan is delivered.

About You

We’re looking for an enthusiastic manager with knowledge and experience of corporate account management and new business development. You will be experienced working in a fundraising environment and managing key fundraising projects.

Men's Minds Matter brings psychological clinical expertise and lived experience to suicide prevention and intervention. In 2021, we launched the MMM model of psychological entrapment and suicidal crises (PESC-M), which now underpins everything we do. · Strong knowledge of the mental health sector and/or suicide prevention.

Duties and responsibilities: General

• To work collaboratively with other mangers and assist, when necessary, with providing cover during periods of absence and play an active part in SWAN’s Leadership Team

Supervision and Development of Direct Reports

• Responsible for the recruitment of their service team
• Responsible for the effective induction of new staff members and support through their induction period

Senior Finance Business Partner

This role is offered on a hybrid contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home three days a week.

Purpose of job:

In this role you will business partner with the Funding directorate to ensure high quality, accurate and timely budgeting and forecasting with respect to both restricted projects and unrestricted operational activity in the Funding team. You will work closely with the Funding Leadership Team and wider department and be their trusted financial advisor. This role will also give the successful candidate a unique opportunity to contribute to Comic Relief’s Shifting the Power Programme, a long term, transformative, civil society strengthening programme, co-funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), operational in Ghana, Zambia and Malawi.

You will be responsible for internal management information for senior management, alongside external reporting to funders. As part of the external reporting, you will be required to build relationships with external stakeholders including government funders such as FCDO and associated partners (including Anchor Partners who are co-funded by Comic Relief and FCDO as part of the Shifting the Power programme). This role may entail some overseas travel to partners. 

Key responsibilities:

Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting

· Lead on budgeting & forecasting for the funding directorate including restricted budgets and forecasts and supporting on troubleshooting in these areas

· Accountable for ensuring donor reports completed by the Grants Accountant and Finance Assistant are accurate, completed to high standard and submitted on time

· Prepare management accounts and analysis for the Funding Directorate 

· Develop and maintain metrics and financial KPIs related to grant making

· Support on restricted funding applications

· Review funding decisions and work with the Grant Accountant to ensure decisions are accurately reflected in the grants and finance system.

· Develop technical expertise in relation to our funding principals such as Shift the Power, and advocate for the adoption of these principles within financial planning, reporting and relationships.  Shifting the power principals challenge the conventional top-down approach, where donors hold power, and advocate for a more democratic, inclusive and sustainable approach, where local communities have a say in shaping and implementing projects that impact their lives.
