Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies.
We support children and young people (up to the age of 25) When someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying.
We provide training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.
Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Reporting to: Head of Trusts and Grants
Base: Hybrid Working: From home with the option to work in one of CBUK’s offices
Role Summary
An exciting opportunity has become available for a talented and enthusiastic Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser to join a high performing and friendly fundraising team.
As a key member of the Trusts and Grants Team, the Trusts and Statutory Fundraiser will work closely with the Head of Trusts and Grants to raise funds from a portfolio of charitable trusts in accordance with Child Bereavement UK’s budgets and targets.
We are looking for someone with proven experience of generating income from trusts and foundations.
You will have:
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write researched, powerful and compelling copy
- Excellent research skills to identify prospective funders
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Experience working with commissions is desirable but not essential
This role comes at a particularly important time for CBUK when the charity is looking to evolve and grow services, diversify into new areas, and raise significant funds for ongoing work. The Trusts & Grants Team are a vital part of the charity’s expansion into new areas, and the post-holder will have the opportunity to work with frontline staff to develop new projects and bids.

From multi-year partnerships and supporters, right through to managing volunteers and raising awareness in our communities, the team you join is talented, fast-paced and on a mission to create a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
The successful candidate will be able to deliver first-class relationship and account management, maximising retention as well as driving opportunities to secure new income within Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry and Warwickshire (from prospecting through to pitch development and delivery).
Our team have a wealth of experience and skills to support you, and being a team player is essential. Recruiting, managing, and appreciating the value of our supporters and volunteers is essential. You need to inspire and motivate them to develop lifelong support.
This is a homeworking role, and you will be required to regularly travel across Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry and Warwickshire to meet supporters and occasionally attend internal meetings at locations across the country, including our flagship offices (London, Birmingham, Warrington and Belfast). You must reside in the UK and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK.
About you
- Experience in relationship and community fundraising or ability to demonstrate transferrable skills.
- Good understanding of budgeting and financial management
- Experience in identifying and acquiring new business opportunities.
- Experience in delivering excellent supporter stewardship and/or customer care.
- Able to analyse data and information to make decisions.
- Proven track record in achieving financial and non-financial targets.
- Ability to work remotely and independently and travel across an extensive patch.
Person Specification:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant IT tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
