We're looking for a Senior Category Manager to join our Procurement team on a fixed term basis. In this crucial role, you will be accountable for driving value and impact for Cancer Research UK by leading the development and execution of strategic procurement initiatives across our technology-related services and solutions spend categories. As well as helping CRUK to mitigate risk, you'll support the organisation's long-term goals through effective supplier partnerships and commercial strategies. You'll also build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and influence key decision-making, ultimately ensuring that Procurement deliver measurable benefits aligned with CRUK's mission to beat cancer.
What will I be doing?
Develop and deliver category strategies that align with CRUK's objectives, using market insights, risk analysis, and stakeholder input to drive value and efficiency.
Engage and influence senior stakeholders across CRUK to ensure procurement strategies are understood, supported, and embedded in business planning.
Lead sourcing activities including supplier evaluation, selection, and competitive tendering to ensure optimal quality, cost, and service outcomes.
Negotiate and draft commercial contracts that secure robust terms, mitigate risk, and maximise value for CRUK.
Collaborate with stakeholders to manage supplier relationships, ensuring delivery against KPIs and continuous improvement.
Identify and mitigate supplier risks to protect CRUK's operational and reputational interests.
Monitor and report on category performance to ensure delivery of savings, value, and alignment with CRUK's strategic goals.
What are we looking for?
Proven ability to build and manage strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to drive collaboration and innovation.
Strong influencing and communication skills, with experience in securing stakeholder buy-in for complex technology procurement strategies.
Extensive experience in leading change IT categories, identifying opportunities for digital and operational improvement and delivering measurable benefits.
Deep expertise in managing complex IT contracts and supplier relationships, including managed services, SaaS, cloud, and infrastructure, ensuring compliance, performance, and value delivery.
In-depth knowledge of category management principles, with a track record of developing and executing IT category strategies that align with organisational goals and technology roadmaps.
Comprehensive experience in end-to-end sourcing within IT categories, including tendering, supplier evaluation, and delivering excellent stakeholder experiences across technical and non-technical audiences.
Advanced negotiation skills, with a history of securing favourable commercial terms and drafting robust IT contract schedules, including SLAs, KPIs, and exit strategies.

Project Manager, Peatland Funding

RSPB Scotland is seeking someone to lead the way in our ambition to raise and manage funding for the vital restoration of Scotland’s peatlands, to benefit biodiversity, the climate and communities.
This role will focus on ensuring that a pipeline of peatland restoration funding routes, including funding applications, bids, and expressions of interest, are identified, developed, submitted, and managed, to secure financial support from various sources (public and private). You will be responsible for making sure that project owners are aware of and adhere to all contractual requirements, prepare regular funding reports and work with partners to solve potential problems.
You will be expected to check and submit budgets, make financial claims and update income and project spreadsheets. You will work with RSPB teams and external stakeholders to identify and manage novel funding routes and opportunities to support the Scotland Peatland Programme, acting as a liaison between them and peatland project teams. In addition, you will play a central role of support to peatland teams developing projects for the IUCN Peatland Code, providing funding guidance and expertise and being responsible for ensuring documents are developed and submitted to ensure successful project validation.
This role will sit within the RSPB Scotland Fundraising team and will work closely with the Scotland Peatland Programme, and as such it requires someone who is independently motivated and able to manage potentially conflicting priorities. We will facilitate visits to RSPB peatland reserves across Scotland to help you understand the specifics of restoration on each site.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Evidence of ability to build strong relationships with a range of teams to deliver key results
- Highly proficient in managing multiple workstreams and deadlines, communicating priorities clearly and updating decision makers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to persuade and influence a wide range of people, both internally and externally.

Croydon BME Forum, in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, is tackling ethnic inequalities in health and social care through this “Can You C Me Project”. The Macmillan Team offers personalised support, information, and referrals for individuals affected by cancer, including families and carers, across six South West London boroughs: Croydon, Merton, Kingston, Wandsworth, and Richmond. Working within a team of three, you will be responsible for two boroughs, Croydon and Merton while supporting colleagues as needed.
As a Project Coordinator for the Can You C Me project, you will play a key role in engaging BME communities to enhance cancer awareness and support. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will lead outreach initiatives, community engagement, and the organisation of project activities across Southwest London. Each coordinator is assigned a specific set of boroughs, collaborating closely with community organisations, faith groups, healthcare providers, and individuals affected by cancer.
Key Responsibilities
· Engage and build relationships with local communities, faith groups, and voluntary organisations to raise cancer awareness and improve support networks.
· Organise and deliver cancer awareness events, workshops, and outreach sessions tailored to community needs.
· Facilitate steering groups with professionals and individuals with lived experience to shape service delivery.
