About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in one or two schools in London; exact school location(s) to be confirmed at interview. Our schools are shown on a mapThe Access Project schools on our website.
The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.
Role responsibilities
- Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme
- Match students with volunteer tutors
- Monitor student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourage attendance
- Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications
- Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)
- Monitor the impact of tutorials, and intervene as appropriate
- Build and manage relationships with volunteer tutors to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme
- Manage tutor relationships and attendance to tutorials through weekly monitoring of systems, emailing and making phone calls
- Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme
- Chair and present at termly school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.
- University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver tutor training sessions, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

Training and Development
You will be provided with regular monthly training so that you can develop your skills and succeed in the role. The Institutional Trusts and Fundraising Manager will provide strategic oversight and direction for Lepra’s institutional fundraising function to deliver on the restricted and unrestricted income targets. You will organise a variety of meetings, including assisting with the preparation of agendas, circulation of meeting papers and record minutes as required. This role requires operations and office management experience. The successful candidate will be a personable and reliable team player with experience of proposing and implementing changes to processes, knowledge of data protection regulatory requirements, and the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders. They will also show demonstrable innovative ability to suggest recommendations for improvements to processes or activities and be a proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite Programmes.

As the Head of Business Development and Funding Partnerships, you will lead on the implementation of multi-year Business Development Strategy, including agreeing yearly ambition and priorities with the internal portfolio renewal and growth board. You will proactively identify, liaise with and manage relationships with current or potential strategic global donors on business development-related processes and opportunities and consortia partners.
This is a UK-based with the option for remote working. This role will require occasional travel to HQ in London to fulfil operational requirements and the salary for the position is £53,000 - £62,000 per annum.
To be successful, you will have substantial experience of business development, commercial insight, programme design, and bid development. You will have a proven track record of securing high value contracts and grants from institutional donors.
