Job description

Philanthropy Officer: Join the Fight Against MS! (£36,309 - £38,786 pa)

Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives? Do you want to be part of a community that's strong enough to stop MS?

The MS Society is looking for a dedicated Philanthropy Officer to help us raise vital funds and drive our mission forward.

Location: London office (N4) with flexible remote working Salary: £36,309 - £38,786 per annum Benefits: 38 days annual leave (including bank holidays), enhanced pension scheme, employee assistance programme, cycle to work scheme

About the Role: As our Philanthropy Officer, you'll play a crucial role in generating income through building meaningful relationships with high-value supporters.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Manage your own portfolio of philanthropists, crafting personalised engagement plans
  • Collaborate with our highly committed Appeal Board and senior leadership to cultivate major gifts
  • Secure significant gifts to help deliver services and fund our pioneering research programme
  • Contribute to an ambitious team that's revolutionising MS treatment and support

About You: You're a relationship builder with a flair for storytelling and a drive to exceed targets.

You have:

  • Experience in philanthropy fundraising with a proven track record of securing major gifts
  • Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal
  • The ability to work collaboratively and influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach

Why Join Us? At the MS Society, we're united by our mission to stop MS in its tracks. We offer:

  • A supportive, inclusive culture where your ideas are valued
  • Investment in your development with training opportunities and clear progression paths
  • The chance to work alongside leading scientists, campaigners, and people living with MS
  • Smart working options to support your work-life balance
  • Enhanced leave for new parents, carers, and those affected by disability or family circumstances

Every day, you'll see the impact of your work as we edge closer to our goal: a world free from the effects of MS. Your contribution will directly improve lives and accelerate ground-breaking research.

Ready to Take on This Rewarding Challenge? If you're excited to use your skills for good and join a team that's changing the future for people with MS, we want to hear from you! Apply by 9am on Tuesday 25 June 2024.

We want you to have every opportunity to demonstrate your skills, ability and potential; please contact us if you require any assistance or adjustment so that we can help with making the application process work for you.
