The post-holder will be responsible for:

• Taking a lead within our income generation function and working in close collaboration with our CEO to manage/deliver our fundraising strategy.
• Maintaining a portfolio of corporate donors/strategic partners to meet annual income goals.
• Designing, developing, and delivering training programmes tailored to our stakeholders' needs.
• Serving as a member of Sahir's Senior Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes to enhance the overall impact and effectiveness of our services.

This role will see the successful candidate manage and develop a portfolio of successful national events. You will be involved in all aspects of the project management cycle from marketing and participant recruitment to supporter stewardship and race day logistics. With support of the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) you will prepare and track budgets for your assigned events and continuously look for opportunities to improve income and participant retention.

The role requires a good attention to detail, strong prioritization skills, sensitivity and flexibility. Whether you come with direct events fundraising experience or have transferable skills that the role requires, we will support and develop you to excel in your role.

Meningitis Research Foundation is based in Bristol, but the role is flexible and is open to remote working with monthly visits to the office (this will need to be more regular during events season). We offer an annual salary of £23,000-£28,000 (job titles and salary banding currently under review), 6% employer pension contribution and employee assistance program alongside annual leave of 25 days per year. You will report directly to the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events and Community) within the Fundraising Team. Key Responsibilities

· Manage a portfolio of national events including TCS London Marathon and Great North Run executing the planning, delivery and evaluation of these events

· Inspire individuals with a connection to the cause to take on events for Meningitis Research Foundation to support our vision of a world free from meningitis

· Deliver marketing and recruitment strategies to ensure we reach our targeted number of participants for each event

· Deliver best in class stewardship (across phone, email, SMS and post) to all supporters ensuring they have the best experience with Meningitis Research Foundation

· Work with the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) to ensure we maximize income potential from each event through improving key performance indicators i.e. average value

· Develop the events portfolio by evaluating and monitoring current products and seeking out new events when appropriate

· Manage relationships with external partners including event companies, logistical suppliers and fundraising platforms

· Work with the Communications Team and Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) to identify strong supporter stories and PR opportunities

· Seek opportunities to share knowledge and learning with other members of the Events & Community Team

· Identify supporters with high value potential (i.e. corporate or major donor) and ensure they are shared with the Head of Fundraising

· With the support of the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community)  create and deliver budgets and KPIs targets for your area ensuring you monitor and report on progress against these budgets and KPIs

· Other duties as reasonable requested by the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) or Head of Fundraising

 

Skills and experience required

· Strong project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

· Good organisational and administrative skills, able to prioritise, juggle multiple tasks and work to deadlines

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent attention to detail

· IT competent including Microsoft office package, Teams and Outlook

· Numerate, able to understand and manage financial information

· Experience managing external partner relationships

· Proven experience and current understanding of the events fundraising market

· Working knowledge of social media

About the role:

The Advice Service Manager is responsible for all advice team operations and developing the Kinship advice pathway.

You’ll manage a team to deliver a consistent, high quality and effective service. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing systems and monitoring service quality and performance.

Continuously improving the service, embracing digital solutions and creating efficiencies and processes to drive performance, you’ll increase our ability to provide more support to kinship carers across England and Wales.

You’ll ensure that kinship carers are able to access the information and advice they need in an accessible and consistent way within a clear operational framework.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver high quality, targeted and tailored advice to kinship carers in England and Wales.
• Develop a service framework that delivers a consistent service within clear timeframes.
• Set out clear expectations for enquiry response across all channels.
• Manage daily advice line operations, including work on cases, data and continuous improvement.
• Act as deputy designated safeguarding officer (DDSO) providing clear advice on actions needed when safeguarding concerns are raised.
• Develop and manage a high performing team.

Essential criteria includes:

• Substantial working knowledge of advice service delivery frameworks.
• Working knowledge of call handling and client record systems.
• Working knowledge of assessing the needs of individuals (e.g. social care, financial and legal) to provide appropriate advice and information.
• Substantial experience managing an advice service or similar, ideally in a health, social care or charitable organisation.
• A strong background in advice work with proven experience in an advice-giving role.

About the role

As part of this exciting role, you will be responsible for successfully planning and delivering our UK campaigns. You’ll achieve this by leading a dedicated team to develop integrated strategies across multiple areas, managing campaign budgets and coordinating political and public engagement efforts. As part of this role you will help to foster partnerships with key stakeholders, align strategies with international counterparts and oversee digital campaigning.

Duties and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

• Take responsibility for the successful planning and delivery of our UK campaigns
• Lead the development of integrated campaign strategies with a core team of dedicated staff of media, policy, business engagement and fundraising colleagues
• Build new, high impact campaigns, identifying the campaign resource needs across policy, advocacy and communications teams
• Manage campaign budgets
• Accountable for the delivery of coordinated, complex political and public engagement strategies
• Identify and build trusting relationships with key delivery partners and external stakeholders
• Work closely with the Head of UK to align campaign strategies and coordinate internationally
• Supervise and support a Digital Campaigner to deliver impactful communications driving high engagement from our supporters and the public by gathering insights and continuous testing and revitalization of communications
• Use insights to ensure campaign tactics and messages are audience and insights led
• Act as media spokesperson for Compassion as required for campaign work
• Represent Compassion UK in internal and external campaign meetings
• Commission and manage external suppliers as needed
• Ensure key teams in Compassion are briefed on campaign activities and the latest developments
• Identify and fill gaps in internal resource to deliver campaigns and advocacy.

About you

We are seeking a passionate, experienced and creative Senior Campaign Manager to develop and lead campaigns, as well as delivering additional campaigning activities. You will be working in a team of highly motivated advocates and campaigners. You will be able to construct imaginative and effective campaigns, inspire colleagues and mobilise our broad range of supporters.

This role requires proven campaigning and project management as well as excellent writing skills. It offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic campaigning organisation with an increasing impact in reducing animal suffering and working for a sustainable global future for farming. Please note that we have an anticipated start date for this role, as of 1st October 2024.

• Experience in managing or delivering fundraising targets and creating comprehensive fundraising strategies.
• Proven track record in successful bid and grant applications, from conception to delivery.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in utilising data to develop business cases and communication strategies.
