Cosmic is a small but mighty children’s charity, dedicated to supporting the incredible work of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, and Queen Charlotte’s Hospital, Hammersmith. We provide vital funding for life-saving equipment, specialist staff training, pioneering research, and family support services - helping to make a real difference for children and families when they need it most.

We’re looking for a passionate and creative Marketing and Communications Manager to help us tell Cosmic’s story, engage our incredible supporters, and grow our reach and impact. You’ll play a key part in raising Cosmic’s profile, supporting fundraising campaigns, and keeping our community connected through engaging and impactful communications.

Key Responsibilities

External Communications

• Collaborate with the team to develop a communications plan to support Cosmic’s calendar of events, income generation and volunteering, taking ownership of its implementation.
• Manage supporter communications through platforms like Mailchimp, including scheduling updates and mail merges.
• Produce and manage the production and distribution of the charity’s supporter newsletter, corporate newsletter, and other direct marketing materials.
• Develop a GDPR compliant method to gather data from families who benefit from Cosmic Service Delivery, to support conversion to fundraising via a Cosmic communication plan and supporter journey
• Create and execute engaging campaigns for Cosmic, based on our service delivery, to generate income.
• Liaise with celebrity partners to coordinate media campaigns.
• Develop and maintain a bank of photographs and ensure media consent forms are obtained and recorded appropriately.
• Assist fundraising teams in sourcing free advertising opportunities for events, such as community group emails and online platforms.
• Working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver and maximise media opportunities and campaigns that help raise awareness of the Cosmic’s services
• Writing press releases for local, regional and national press covering Cosmic service delivery, events and fundraising campaigns.
• Plan and execute events designed for stewardship and engagement alongside the Cosmic Events Team.
• Support in the development and delivery of the Cosmic ambassador strategy

Internal Communications

• Work closely with supporters, NHS staff, and the NHS Imperial Trust to gather compelling patient, family, unit, and staff stories for promotional purposes.
• Be a visible presence on the wards, building relationships to develop case studies, improve communication, and identify opportunities for collaboration.
• Keep charity notice boards updated with promotional material.
• Contribute to the quarterly Trustee report.
• Ensure that all communication is clearly logged on the Cosmic CRM solution, Donorfy.

Digital

• Manage Cosmic’s social media channels, developing and implementing a consistent and engaging social media plan to promote the charity’s work, events, and fundraising initiatives effectively.
• Digital transformation of the Cosmic website and other digital channels with a consistent and clear brand, ensuring optimal user experience.
• Create engaging and consistent digital designs for all marketing materials on Canva.

Branding and Merchandising

• Design and create a new range of fundraising merchandise and marketing materials to promote the Cosmic brand.
• Support the fundraising team by developing high-quality materials for proposals, events, and activities, and assist in promoting these initiatives.
• Develop and formalise a clear Cosmic Tone of Voice and charity branding, establishing guidelines for how Cosmic presents itself both internally and externally to ensure consistency and alignment with its mission and values.
• Build a Cosmic library of “curated content” with aligned descriptions of who we are and what we do, tailored for different audiences.
• Ensure all internal templates (letterheads, email signatures etc) use the correct colour palette, format and logo.

Administration

• Build a process to balance and prioritise the requirements and request for digital, marketing and communication support from the Cosmic Team
• Respond effectively to incoming telephone calls and emails, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally.
• Maintain and update the charity’s database of contacts and supporters, taking the lead in implementing changes to improve data recording and analysis.
• Provide support to charity volunteers during activities.
• Develop engaging and relevant supporter journeys using Cosmic audience personas.
• Regular development and gathering of Cosmic case study materials.
• Evaluate the success of campaigns, setting and tracking key metrics, feeding learnings back into future work in a cycle of continuous improvement.
• Prepare and deliver regular, meaningful reporting on communications, to assist and drive strategic communications and marketing decision making.

General

• Build relationships across Cosmic, NHS units, and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration.
• Stay informed about fundraising sector trends and identify ways to apply them to Cosmic’s work.
• Undertake any other tasks commensurate with the role, adhering to the charity’s time-in-lieu policy.
• Support PICU/NICU with day-to-day needs, including celebrating milestones, organising activities, or assisting families with specific requirements.

Who We’re Looking For

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in a marketing or communications role, ideally working within the charity sector.
• Proven success designing and delivering communications plans and campaigns.
• Experience of successfully pitching stories or collaborations to media, journalists and influencers.
• Understanding of how to create engaging content – both written and visual.
• Understanding of how to develop opportunities for coverage and know how to make them happen, and of media and communication trends, with the ability to stay ahead of the curve.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging content for diverse audiences.
• Strong digital storytelling skills.
• Experience in creating marketing materials in Canva and managing communications campaigns.
• Experience of managing social media channels, creating content that drive results
• Experience of using WordPress, Mailchimp and CRM solutions.

Key responsibilities

Content creation and storytelling

• Develop and deliver high-quality content, including thought leadership campaigns (featuring podcasts, videos, editorials, and webinars)
• Amplify the work of project and programme teams, positioning it through the broader organisation narrative
• Write engaging news and feature articles that align with organisational priorities
• Review, edit and advise on content produced by colleagues and consultants

Messaging

 Campaign planning and delivery

• Provide programme teams with communication campaign planning advice
• Oversee the communications campaign scheduler, ensuring activities are coordinated and strategically aligned
• Lead dissemination and growth of thought leadership campaigns, with a particular focus on expanding podcast reach and impact
• Work with the senior coordinator to ensure campaign delivery is well executed
• Analyse the performance of campaign strategies to identify the most effective ways to expand ISEAL’s reach and improve engagement

Editorial oversight and sign-off

• Fully understanding and absorbing the organisational narrative, review and sign off on key communications materials, including social media copy and graphics, news page articles and organisation newsletters
• Ensure content adheres to brand, tone, and quality standards
• Keep key message resources such as FAQs and explainers up to date

Other responsibilities

CAMPAIGNS ASSISTANT - Full-time permanent position (open to part-time applicants)

As Campaigns Assistant, you’ll support the delivery of impactful campaigns led by our Campaign Managers and support high-profile projects like World Animal Day and various events.

 

To be considered, we’ll be looking for motivated, resilient candidates with relevant experience or skills developed in an animal welfare (or related) degree or more general public policy and campaigning. The successful candidate would need to be organised, with a sharp eye for detail, able to deliver projects on time, whilst working as part of a team. You’ll need a strong ability to multi-task and prioritise, as no day is ever the same.

This is a full time or part time permanent role offering a salary around £23,000, depending on skills and experience.

What we're looking for

This newly created Campaigns Manager role will be responsible for end-to-end campaign management across digital platforms including Advocate, our programmatic ad platform, and various social media channels. This includes strategy development, planning, coordination, execution, and optimization. Reporting to the Ad Ops Director in Canada, you'll work closely with the Accounts, Performance & Insights, and Product teams across Europe and the US to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and on target.

Responsibilities

• Lead on developing digital strategies and media plans, identifying appropriate platforms and formats to maximise impact for our global, progressive client base. 
• Manage Campaign Associates to ensure all digital campaigns are delivered successfully, including tracking KPIs, analyzing performance data, and implementing optimizations to improve results.
• Periodically attend (remote) meetings with clients to present campaign results. 
• Add hands-on-keyboard capacity to build and manage campaigns where needed.
• Continually innovate how we run campaigns, to find better ways to bring impact to our clients.
• Be the people manager and coach of at least one Campaigns Associate. 

Required Expertise

Must Have

• Experience with planning, building and managing successful paid digital campaigns on social media and programmatic channels for progressive political groups. 
• Experience working on multiple progressive campaigns, including at least one cycle of US political campaigns with Democrats or progressive groups. 
• Proven ability to learn new ad tech platforms quickly.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to spot errors, inconsistencies, or performance issues before they escalate.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-continent environment.

• Experience managing / mentoring junior team members.

The Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) is a UK-based charity who investigates and campaigns against environmental crime and abuse.
 
Our undercover investigations expose transnational wildlife crime, with a focus on elephants and tigers, and forest crimes such as illegal logging and deforestation for cash crops like palm oil. We work to safeguard global marine ecosystems by addressing the threats posed by plastic pollution, bycatch and commercial exploitation of whales, dolphins and porpoises. Finally, we reduce the impact of climate change by campaigning to eliminate powerful refrigerant greenhouse gases, exposing related illicit trade and improving energy efficiency in the cooling sector.
 
The role:
 
We are seeking an experienced and committed campaigner to lead EIA’s strategy, investigations, and advocacy on mining-driven deforestation.
 
The Forest Mining Campaign Lead will investigate, analyse and advocate around mining operations and supply chains that drive deforestation, human rights abuses, and environmental harm. Working in close collaboration with partners in Indonesia, the initial focus is primarily on nickel, and coal with Indonesia as a key producer country and an emphasis on international markets and consumption.
 
The role will develop and deliver governance strategies to reduce the impact of mining on forests, strengthen accountability and transparency, and support communities affected by extractive industries. It will also support the goals of our climate campaign. This work is part of a larger forest program and will support our cross-cutting end goals.
 
About you:

• You must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience including proven capacity in leading campaigns or projects in the fields of extractives, forests, environmental justice and human rights.
• You will have strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into compelling advocacy outputs.
• You will have experience engaging with government, corporate, and civil society stakeholders at national and international levels.
• You must be committed to environmental justice, Indigenous rights, and community-led approaches.
• You will need strong written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multicultural, cross-regional teams. Proficiency in other languages like Bahasa Indonesia would be an advantage.
• Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be able to travel outside the UK at short notice.
• Ideally you will also have solid budgetary experience.
• Experience of strategic campaign planning and fundraising and experience in investigative research or supply chain analysis would be an advantage.
• Ideally you would have knowledge of mining governance frameworks, trade systems, and financial flows, and familiarity with international policy processes (e.g., UN, OECD, EU, IFC).

The Senior Supporter Care and Campaigns Manager leads how Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis inspires, engages and grows income from supporters overtime. This role ensures that campaign planning, donor insight and supporter journeys are methodically planned, purposeful and income driven. It brings together storytelling, data, stewardship and timing to retain supporters, create deeper connections with our audience and maximise giving.

The postholder will lead a proactive, organisationwide annual campaign calendar, driving alignment between fundraising and communications, and ensuring APF invites supporters into meaningful opportunities to give throughout the year.

The Opportunity   

This role is central to shaping and delivering the Social Mobility Foundation’s media, public affairs, and campaigning work, alongside the Campaigns Manager. You will influence changemakers - including politicians and journalists - through strategic media, political, and social media interventions. You will also collaborate with our Young Campaigners to amplify their voices and co-create impactful campaigns with them that drive systemic change.

We are looking for an experienced, proactive media professional to join our team during a crucial phase of Dignity in Dying’s campaign. The Open Wing Alliance (OWA), a program of The Humane League, is a global coalition of approximately 90 animal protection organizations across 70+ countries united in a common goal: to end the abuse of chickens worldwide. For the past several years, we have focused our efforts on eliminating cages from the egg industry by securing cage-free policies from major retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers. As Temporary Global Campaigns Coordinator, you will be part of a team responsible for researching, coordinating, and launching hard-hitting global corporate animal welfare campaigns against major multinational companies. These campaigns involve collaboration and coordination with animal protection organizations around the world and directly contribute to The Humane League’s org-wide goal of ending the abuse of animals raised for food by securing global cage-free policies that significantly improve the lives of millions of egg-laying hens.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct research to help inform campaign strategies, tactics, project plans, and communications (including slogans and language). Gather and monitor contact information, data, and key details about target companies and their executives.

The role:
 
The Visibility & Communications Campaigner is a fantastic opportunity to raise the profile and impact of our forest campaigns, working in a collaborative, creative and mission driven work environment with the opportunity for international travel.
 
The role will work closely with our Communications department to focus on producing and sharing compelling communications that highlight the lived experienced of forest communities, expose environmental crimes and influence decision makers at national and international levels.
 
This is a creative campaigning role that combines storytelling, media engagement, digital communications, and strategic advocacy. The postholder will work closely with campaigners, investigators, partners, and affected communities to ensure that evidence and voices from the ground reach global audiences and drive change.
 
About you:

• You must have demonstrated experience in communications, campaigning, or media work for NGOs, civil society, or advocacy organisations.
• You will have excellent storytelling, writing, and editing skills, with ability to tailor outputs for different audiences (communities, policymakers, media, public).
• You will have strong digital communications skills, including social media strategy and multimedia content production.
• You will need experience working with journalists and securing impactful media coverage.
• You will be committed to environmental justice, human rights, and amplifying community voices.
• You will be sensitive to working with at-risk partners and applying safe communications practices.
• Ideally you will have experience working on forest governance, environmental crime, or extractive industries, as well as experience supporting Indigenous Peoples, grassroots defenders, or frontline communities to develop communications.
• Familiarity with open-source intelligence (OSINT), data visualisation, or campaign dashboards, would be an advantage.

 
What we offer:
 
Location: Hybrid Working possible – UK-based role, offices in London Islington at least 2 days per week and remaining home working. International travel is required as part of the role.
Hours: 40 hours per week, including a paid hour for lunch
Salary: £38,000-£42,000 per annum depending on experience
Contract Type: 2 year fixed term contract
Holiday: Annual leave package of 25 days annual leave ( days off between Xmas and New Year) Bank Holidays day off on your birthday, with an additional day per year up to a max of 29 days.
