About the Role

The Interim Head of Communications and Marketing will lead the operational planning, management and development of the College’s communications and marketing functions.

The purpose of the role

The Mass Market team’s mission is to inspire the UK public to financially support the IRC to help people impacted by conflict and disaster. As Retention Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for annual operational planning and delivery across for the retention programme, including for emergency appeals. Key accountabilities

Strategy and planning

• Support the Director, Mass Markets in the development and delivery of the retention strategy and priorities
• Identify, scope and deliver new and innovative opportunities that advance the retention strategy
• Manage retention operational planning, including leading annual, quarterly and monthly planning sessions, defining key deliverables and ensuring all activity supports the aims of the retention strategy
• Manage the monitoring and reporting framework to track performance against strategic objectives

Leadership and management

• Line manage and develop the Retention Marketing Executive(s), ensuring performance objectives are managed throughout the year and opportunities for training, development and progression are identified and prioritised
• Work closely with other team members to increase connection across Mass Markets, with the ultimate aim of developing a seamless progression for new donors and prospects into further cultivation

• Keep up to date with the sector developments in individual giving to ensure IRC is at the forefront of fundraising developments

Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organisation that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries and restore ocean life.

Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing globally.

Blue Ventures is seeking an experienced and passionate fisheries expert to lead and manage the Transform Bottom Trawling (TBT) Coalition’s technical and strategic work. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in a growing global movement that seeks to end destructive bottom trawling practices and champion the rights of small-scale fishers.

The Transform Bottom Trawling Coalition is a global movement uniting small-scale fishers, coastal communities, and environmental groups against the most destructive form of industrial fishing. Together with over 120 members, we are advocating for:

• Protecting coastal water: Creating Inshore Exclusion Zones and Preferential Access  Areas to keep bottom trawling out and give small-scale fishers priority access.

• Safeguarding marine life: Ensuring bottom trawling is prohibited in Marine Protected      Areas (MPAs) to protect marine animals and plants.

• Supporting fair subsidies: Ending subsidised bottom trawling and supporting a fair transition.

• Stopping expansion: Preventing bottom trawling from expanding into new, untrawled areas.

You will be responsible for providing expert advice across the coalition, driving research and knowledge creation, and ensuring the coalition remains at the forefront of scientific, policy, and advocacy developments. The charity is seeking a dedicated Philanthropy Officer to join its ambitious Fundraising Team and play a key role in sustaining and growing income from trusts and foundations. This role will lead on writing compelling funding proposals and reports, ensuring that deadlines are met and donor stewardship remains exemplary. Working closely with the CEO, Philanthropy Manager and colleagues across policy, science, communications, and finance, the postholder will ensure funders receive timely and impactful updates on the charity's work.

The ideal candidate will bring excellent writing skills, strong research abilities, and confidence in managing donor relationships. With a flair for turning complex scientific issues into clear and persuasive communications, they will be highly organised, proactive, and motivated by the opportunity to protect people and nature from harmful chemicals. Experience in trust and foundation fundraising, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a busy, small team are essential.

The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) is an independent charity established in 1967. For over 57 years, we have promoted our vision of a society in which people can live safely and are treated with equal dignity and respect, regardless of where they are from or how they came to the UK.

To achieve this, we provide legal advice, representation and holistic support to migrants experiencing injustice, poverty, and discrimination; we undertake parliamentary advocacy and expert policy analysis; we speak out and challenge damaging and discriminatory media narratives about immigration; we use law as a tool of resistance;  we work in solidarity with migrants and grassroots groups, and we build campaigns that both build power and influence power; working towards radically transforming immigration and asylum law and policy.

JCWI has been through a period of transition over recent years, with pressures on the organisation, its staff, capacity, and resources increased by successive political attacks on migrant communities, the eroding of migrants’ rights through legal and policy change, the rise of the far-right in the UK and the widening gap between the rich and powerful and Britain’s multi-racial working class.

It is in this context that JCWI is seeking an empathetic and collaborative leader given we are in a time of immense political upheaval both in the UK and across borders. We need someone who can unite us towards a refreshed collective resistance to increasingly unfettered state and corporate power.

The successful candidate is likely to have a sound grasp of the key issues JCWI works on and the political climate in which the organisation operates, to provide confident leadership and strategic guidance to all teams, and to maintain and build relationships with key stakeholders.  This includes setting and reviewing the organisation's objectives within the framework of the five-year strategy, developing and reviewing the annual business plan and fundraising plan, maintaining JCWl's relationships with trusts, foundations, and other key partners, and acting as one of the lead spokespeople for the organisation in the media and elsewhere.

About the Role
As the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide strategic leadership and ensure effective governance for MDXSU. You will empower and support our elected student officers and build strong relationships across the Middlesex community and beyond. You will also be responsible for the union's financial performance, legal compliance, and reputation.

This is a unique opportunity to join a union with the foundations in place to go from good to great. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding and belief in student leadership and social justice, along with a proven track record of developing and delivering high-quality organisational strategies.

The ideal candidate will have significant management experience at a senior level within a students' union or similar organisation, with a strong track record of developing and delivering organisational strategies. You should also be committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment by actively breaking down barriers to engagement for different communities.

• Significant senior-level management experience with strategic responsibility across multiple functions
