Suffolk Wildlife Trust is seeking a Digital Content Officer to help us share the story of our work, inspire people across the county and drive our mission to “bring nature back to Suffolk”, and vision of a ““A Wilder Suffolk where nature is thriving and abundant because everyone is doing more to help”. This role is central to how we communicate our impact and connect people with wildlife, ensuring that our voice for nature is clear, compelling and far-reaching.

As a Digital Content Officer, you will be part of the Marketing & Communications team, working across departments to gather stories and create engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences. You will lead on digital communications, including managing our social media accounts, website, and e-newsletters, and play a key role in delivering inspiring campaigns that encourage more people to take action for wildlife and support the charity.

Your work will include planning, creating and publishing content such as videos, images, graphics and written stories that showcase the Trust’s impact and celebrate Suffolk’s wildlife and landscapes. By amplifying these stories, you will help raise awareness, build engagement and attract new members and supporters.

The role also involves co-ordinating local and national awareness campaigns, ensuring that Suffolk Wildlife Trust continues to be recognised as a trusted voice for nature. You will work closely with colleagues across our conservation and reserves, advocacy and engagement teams, to ensure that our communications reflect the breadth of our work and are aligned with our strategic goals.

This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who is creative, highly organised and passionate about nature. This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week -  Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm based at our main office Brooke House in Ashbocking. We operate flexible homeworking arrangements where colleagues spend more time working together than homeworking. The starting salary will be between £26,000.00 and £28,000.00 per annum, depending on skills, knowledge and experience.

Lumos is an international children’s charity founded in 2005 by the author J.K. Rowling to end the harmful practice of institutionalisation of children. Lumos’s mission is to fight for every child’s right to a family by transforming care systems around the world.  Our vision is for all children to grow up in safe and loving families. 

Despite clear evidence of the harms of institutionalisation, an estimated 5.4 million children worldwide continue to live in institutions. Separated from their families and communities, these children are deprived of the love, attention and opportunities they need to thrive. Our three-pronged approach is to prevent family separation, to protect children and to promote care reform. We’ve made important progress in closing harmful institutions and reuniting children with their families. And where children are unable to live with their birth families, we promote alternative family-based care, such as kinship care and quality foster care.  Thanks to our tireless efforts alongside many other champions of care reform, the harms of institutionalisation are now more widely understood. JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Advisor, PPLE is a key role responsible for successfully delivering Lumos’ strategy on safe and meaningful engagement of children, young people, families and caregivers. Considering the cross-cutting nature of participation, the post-holder will work across teams to ensure PPLE is mainstreamed throughout the organisation, strengthening Lumos’ internal capacity and approaches to meaningful participation. They will ensure that Lumos programmes demonstrate innovative and transferrable approaches to participation, and that people with lived experience are meaningfully involved in national, regional and global advocacy and campaigning, as well as within Lumos’ internal governance.  

The Senior Advisor will oversee implementation of Lumos’ newly-developed PPLE Strategy – working in partnership with people with lived experience, PPLE Focal Points in Lumos’s four country offices, and other key colleagues. They will supervise and guide the work of PPLE across country teams and Lumos’s central function to develop and deliver high-quality and effective projects that achieve the objectives of the PPLE strategy.  

The post holder will also work with Global Advocacy, Communications and Fundraising colleagues and country teams to ensure that people with lived experience are well represented in national, regional and global campaigns and initiatives that inform child rights and care reform policy and programming. They will identify and cultivate relationships with relevant stakeholders in the care and related sectors, including with existing national, regional and global networks of care-experienced children and young people, to strengthen partnerships and collaboration around PPLE. The post holder will work hand-in-hand with safeguarding colleagues, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the PPLE workstream, to ensure Lumos has, and is implementing, appropriate systems to facilitate safe and ethical PPLE that is compliant with data protection protocols. The Senior PPLE Advisor will contribute to fundraising, participating in proposal development, reporting to donors and other related activities. 

KEY OBJECTIVES

• Provide technical leadership on PPLE and oversee the implementation of Lumos’ new PPLE Strategy – working in partnership with people with lived experience, PPLE Focal Points, key staff including in Lumos country offices and external partners including participatory networks and associations. 
• Strengthen Lumos’ internal capacity and approaches to meaningful participation of children, youth, parents and caregivers 
• Ensure that participation of children, young people, parents and caregivers is embedded as a cross-cutting priority throughout the organisation’s projects and programmes 
• Develop an annual strategic plan for PPLE for 2026 and ensure PPLE is included and aligned across the plans, strategies, and projects of other Programmes teams 
• Provide supervision, coordination and capacity-building to the PPLE team, which comprises PPLE Focal Points across Lumos’ four country offices, including setting and implementing objectives, deliverables and KPIs that will motivate the team and achieve ambitious results, and monitor and track progress 
• Ensure coordination and engagement between PPLE Focal Points and organisational leadership 
• Lead on the development of country programme PPLE strategies in line with Lumos’ 2024-7 strategy, alongside PPLE Focal Points and programmes teams.
• Manage the PPLE budget to ensure objectives are met, high quality deliverables are achieved, and budgets are utilised effectively; potential of managing future PPLE grants and programmes depending on priorities 
• Collaborate with the fundraising and Programme teams to develop all project proposals with the Participation of People with Lived Experience embedded throughout, including direct engagement of People with Lived Experience in drafting proposals when appropriate  
• Develop high-quality reports, quarterly, annual, or other for both internal and external audiences, including donors, in collaboration with relevant teams and support positive relationships with stakeholders 
• Represent PPLE at a senior level internally and externally, including in meetings, working groups and committees as needed
• Build and nurture relationships with relevant stakeholders in the care reform and other connected sectors, to secure opportunities for the participation and meaningful involvement of people with lived experience 
• Oversee training and capacity building of people with lived experience so they can participate in care reform implementation initiatives and in decisions that affect their lives 
• Work with advocacy and communications colleagues to ensure that people with lived experience are well represented in regional and global campaigns, events and initiatives that inform child rights and care reform policy and programming. Advocate for and facilitate their inclusion in a meaningful, genuine and non-tokenistic manner 
• Co-ordinate the planning and delivery of external and internal participation events and activities, at national, regional or international level, for example Lumos’ participatory groups, working closely with Advocacy, Communications and other relevant teams.  
• Promote opportunities for young people to be more actively and meaningfully involved in all areas of Lumos’ work, including organisational governance, in line with Lumos’ strategy 2024-27 and the PPLE Strategy. Lead on the coordination of a Lumos Global Youth Advisory Board in close collaboration with the PPLE Focal Points and other relevant teams.
• Lead the development of training and capacity building to teams across Lumos, including ELT, to promote and enable a mainstreamed approach to PPLE 
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the participation function, working closely with safeguarding colleagues and PPLE Focal Points, to ensure Lumos has, and is implementing, appropriate systems to facilitate safe and ethical PPLE that is compliant with relevant organisational policies, including the Safeguarding Policy and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Policy, and with relevant data protection protocols

I have a brilliant opportunity working for a newly created charity, as their Digital Communications Officer, working remotely in the UK. In this role you lead the development and delivery of the charity’s digital communications, ensuring their messages and campaigns are clear, engaging, and accessible across all platforms. The charity is a national gambling harm prevention organisation, which provides, training, education, advice, and resources. They are looking for a passionate individual with an interest in addiction, mental health, public health, healthcare, commercial determinants or suicide prevention.

As Digital Communications Officer you will shape how the charity presents itself to the public, stakeholders, and partners – amplifying voice and enhancing the reach and impact of their work. You’ll work closely with the small team, to understand needs and come up with creative content and messages.

The charity has been created by a more established charity, so whilst it’s in its infancy, the charity is derived from knowledge and experience. The charity will be growing, and therefore, this role will grow and develop too.

Your experience:

- One of their key audience’s is young men, and younger audiences, so they would love to find someone with knowledge of how to get their attention, and knowledge of emerging digital trends (TikTok, SnapChat).

- Experience managing social media accounts and creating engaging content across platforms (e.g., X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, SnapChat)

- Excellent written communication skills with ability to tailor messages for different audiences and platforms

Animal Equality is an international animal protection organisation working with society, governments and companies to end cruelty to farmed animals. Animal Equality has offices in the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and India.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented Operations Officer to play a central role in ensuring the smooth running of Animal Equality UK’s internal operations and supporter services.

This is a varied role covering administration, finance, data management, supporter care, and event coordination. You will be the first point of contact for many of our supporters and stakeholders, providing excellent service while supporting team members across all departments.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Culture and internal support: Act as a culture ambassador, upholding Animal Equality’s values of professionalism, resilience, accountability, and compassion. Strengthen communication between teams and ensure effective use of project management tools. Identify and lead process improvements with guidance from the Operations Manager.
• Supporter and donor care: Serve as the first point of contact for supporter queries via phone, email, post, and social media. Provide excellent donor support, including thanking donors, resolving payment issues, and sending mailings. Maintain supporter and volunteer records accurately in CRM systems and ensure compliance with GDPR.
• Finance and reporting: Process expenses, supplier payments, and support budget forecasting. Assist with Gift Aid claims, monthly data uploads, and finance reports. Prepare scheduled reports and presentations to track progress against objectives.
• Team processes: Support recruitment processes, including application handling, interview coordination, and onboarding/offboarding schedules. Ensure smooth induction for new staff and manage equipment, training resources, and access.
• Events and operations: Assist with the organisation of internal training, team meet-ups, and supporter events. Support health and safety measures for team members and volunteers at peaceful protests, undertaking risk assessments and first aid training. Manage stock and campaign materials, fulfil supporter requests, and oversee mailing logistics.
• Data and systems: Conduct database cleansing and maintain accurate supporter, volunteer, and executive records.
• Represent Animal Equality’s culture: Support Animal Equality’s life-saving work by producing high-quality output, embracing and representing the organisation’s culture principles proudly at all times, and supporting our philanthropic efforts.
• Support with other ad hoc duties, as requested by your line manager.

ABOUT THE JOB

Responsibilities: 

The overall responsibility of the Senior Advisor for Business Development and Donor Engagement is to develop, coordinate, and lead regional processes for business development and strategic programme development and support donor engagement and the development and maintenance of strategic partnerships in the region. The role also provides business development support to country programmes within the region upon request, and coordinates with relevant global functions to ensure regional efforts are in line with organisational strategies. 

Partnership Engagement 

• Contextualize global fundraising and engagement strategies for the region and develop regional donor engagement plans to foster and maintain constructive, long-term relationships with strategic regional donors and partners. 
• Lead regional donor mapping exercises to identify strategic donors (including institutional, private sector, foundations, and non-traditional donors) and areas of programmatic priority overlap and alignment. 
• Support donor and partner engagement efforts of the EDH through preparation, intelligence, follow up, and general maintenance of strategic regional partnerships. 
• Maintain a comprehensive regional donor database to track donor engagements and coordinate donor outreach and communications throughout the region, in line with global donor databases and tracking efforts. 
• Develop campaigns, appeals, marketing materials, capacity statements, and other communications at regional level in close coordination with global colleagues, particularly relevant Advocacy and Communications colleagues. 
• Proactively monitor donor portals and track donor engagements to identify and disseminate new and strategic funding opportunities throughout the region and coordinate with relevant colleagues, and maintain a regional pipeline overview of opportunities 
• Provide expert advice to country programmes around engagement and fundraising strategies and support country programmes in the development of country engagement strategies, donor mapping exercises, and identification of funding opportunities. 

Knowledge Management And Intel 

• Maintain regional overview of donor intel to support country, regional and HQ engagement and strategy development 
• Support HQ donor focal points with trends analysis and the like to enable DRC to preposition for opportunities in a timely manner.

Strategic Programmatic Development 

• Collaborate with regional programme and support teams including the Commercial Contracts and Consortia team to align and adapt strategic programmatic priorities and regional capacity with regional donor strategies and funding opportunities. 
• Under the direction of the Head of Global Foundations and Institutional donors and in close coordination with Head of Programme Support and relevant technical colleagues lead or support country programmes in the development of new, strategic, or complex interventions for prepositioning outside of country programme capacity or resources to maintain or diversity country portfolios

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role we expect you to build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with diverse regional donors, ensuring alignment between donor priorities and DRC programmes. It also requires proactive gathering and analysis of donor intel to identify funding opportunities and maintain and clear pipeline. Finally, close coordination with regional, country and HQ is key to success. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

• A minimum of  3 years of experience at a senior level leading strategic new business development, strategic engagement, and fundraising efforts.
• Strong understanding of the humanitarian and development landscape and architecture globally and in the East Africa and Great Lakes region
• Demonstrated experience with effectively engaging, coordinating, and maintaining networks with donors, partners, and local actors.
• Demonstrated experience of building a pipeline of opportunities with a diverse number of donors – institutional, foundations and/ or private sector etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to identify, address and communicate the core of an issue even if very complex

• Experience in working in an international, multicultural work environment, experience at country or regional level will be considered an asset
• Demonstrated knowledge of humanitarian and development programming in the East Africa and Great Lakes context.
