In this role, you will be managed by Emily Thomas. A fundraiser for over fifteen years, Emily has worked at charities including Brooke, National Trust and the Wildlife Trust. Prior to joining ClientEarth in 2018, Emily was part of the development team at London's Natural History Museum where she worked on the Hintze Hall transformation capital campaign and launch activity. As Associate Director, Philanthropy, Emily manages the global philanthropy team and works alongside external stakeholders and a Development Board to secure income and connections for the organisation.

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated fundraiser to join our successful team as we embark on a major capital campaign (NHM150) to raise £150m to transform our South Kensington site ahead of our 150th anniversary. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, this role will be responsible for personally securing high six- and seven-figure gift from Trusts and Foundations.

The Senior Philanthropy Manager will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and the rest of the Philanthropy team, feeding into the overall strategy for the team. They will manage a portfolio of funder accounts which deliver long-term, high-value strategic partnerships as well as building new relationships.

The post will also manage a team of 3 – 2x Philanthropy Manager and 1 Philanthropy Executive.

The role requires excellent fundraising skills, with experience in raising and managing high six- and seven-figure gifts. The Role
In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and growth of partnerships and funding opportunities that fuel their mission. You’ll work alongside senior leaders to diversify and increase income streams, ensuring their vital campaigns and educational resources reach even more underserved and vulnerable communities by 2030.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, secure, and nurture new and existing partnerships aligned with their mission.
• Design innovative partnership packages and sponsorship opportunities.
• Develop new income streams across campaigns, advocacy projects, and educational materials.
• Act as the central point of contact, ensuring excellent partner engagement and seamless collaboration.
• Provide timely reporting on partnership performance and impact to senior leadership.

• Year-on-year increase in income supporting their programs.
