Job description

Role Overview:
The Talent Set is working with a fantastic charity who are looking for a Communications Manager to cover a 12-month FTC.

This is a pivotal position combining strategy, digital innovation, and impactful storytelling. Working collaboratively across the organisation, the postholder will raise awareness, expand audience reach, showcase impact, and strengthen stakeholder engagement.

You’ll lead a small, high-performing team to deliver engaging campaigns and content that amplify voices from lived experience and highlight the organisation’s work. The role also involves managing relationships with agencies and suppliers, overseeing content production, and ensuring consistent, high-quality communications across all platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of campaigns, content, and digital engagement.
  • Oversee social media channels, website, newsletters, blogs, and other content streams.
  • Commission and edit copy, video, photography, and infographics.
  • Ensure brand consistency and advocate for inclusive, impactful storytelling.
  • Line manage two team members, supporting their professional development.
  • Maintain relationships with external agencies, suppliers, and creative partners.
  • Support the senior leadership team on strategic communications and engagement initiatives.
  • Provide internal communications advice, training, and facilitation to colleagues.
  • Oversee reporting on digital performance, presenting insights to senior leadership and trustees.
  • Use data to optimise campaigns, audience growth, SEO, and user journeys.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen engagement and influence across digital and traditional channels.


Person Specification:

  • Proven experience leading small communications or marketing teams.
  • Strong track record in planning and delivering projects and campaigns.
  • Skilled in social media management, content production, and copywriting.
  • Confident in using data and analytics to improve engagement and reach.
  • Knowledge of digital engagement, SEO, and content management systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with CRM systems and campaign planning.
  • Confident communicator and presenter.
  • Experience in the charity or health sector.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, or Google Analytics 4.
  • Working knowledge of social and search listening tools.
  • At least two years’ experience in a similar role.


What’s on Offer:

  • A fully remote working pattern with very occasional travel in and around the UK.
  • A salary of £40,000 to £45,000 for the successful candidate.
