Job Summary

Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, you will develop and assess a range of supporter journeys and asks to best retain supporters across regular giving, raffle, lottery, cash giving and legacy - through digital, telemarketing and direct mail channels.

The successful candidate will be an experienced direct marketing and digital project manager and collaborative team player. About the Role

This role is focused on delivering established communications strategies and plans over a 12-month fixed-term period. • Develop and deliver content and copy for digital channels, including social media, email communications and the website.

Role Purpose

Winston’s Wish is a digital first organisation leading the way in Digital Transformation across the Bereavement sector. This role will play a vital part in helping Winston’s Wish turn up the dial across our corporate partnerships fundraising. ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Senior Data and Insights Officer you will work with the Chief Impact Officer, within our Impact Team. Responsiblities will include: 

Database Usage and Reporting

• Support our Salesforce Lead in creating reports and dashboards, ensuring all data is relevant, accurate and secure.  
• Use our database management system to generate reports and data analysis for the Senior Management Team, and other internal colleagues, to support marketing campaigns, fundraising campaigns, statutory information requests and organisational insight.
• Enhance our data analysis and reporting by developing predictive modelling and exploring statistical significance of our findings.
• Prepare reports for college partners, funders, and the Board, which set out our data, findings and impact,

Internal and External Evaluations

• Support the Chief Impact Officer in developing assessment frameworks to robustly measure our impact and designing dissemination plans, to best harness and communicate that impact.

We developed a short strategic plan for a 2 year period to ensure we had all of the foundations in place to capitalise on our new charity status. This strategic plan ends in November 2025.

The CEO will set a new five-year strategy for the organisation by building on the solid foundations of the 2 year strategic plan and maximising the opportunities that charity status provides.

The CEO will have oversight across the whole organisation, often acting as the external ‘face’ of The Coalition with our stakeholders and partners. As such, they will represent us, and enable the Disabled community to have their voices heard to achieve equality and independence for Disabled people and those with long-term health conditions.  The CEO will promote the Social Model of Disability and champion accessibility across all services in Surrey.

This Communications Officer role is available on a fixed term contract and part-time basis. The salary for this role is £35,000 FTE (pro-rata for 4 days a week). This role is also available on a remote basis.
 
You will report to the Director of Fundraising and look after the communications function of the charity. You will support with work on a rebrand, campaign management and continuous updating of the charity’s website. You will produce high quality content which includes, engaging articles, social media and website content, newsletters, flyers, booklets, and impact stories. You will also film and edit reels for social media channels.
 
You will play a key role supporting the Director of Fundraising in managing/promoting fundraising campaigns, initiatives and events. You will also support with day-to-day marketing duties such as reporting website stats, beneficiary feedback, press management and updating directories. 
 
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent copywriting skills and be able to write for a range of different audiences with impact. You will be digitally savvy and experience using WordPress and web analytics tools (e.g. GA4). You will have in brand management and understanding of SEO. You will have experience using design software (e.g. Canva/InDesign). You will have experience executing fundraising campaigns and publishing digital and print content. You will also have experience in working with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
 
Desirably, you will have experience filming and editing reels for social media and basic understanding of HTML.

Business Development Officer – London, South East and East of England

Role purpose:

1. Retain and grow relationships with existing centres through tailored engagement strategies that drive programme registrations and increase impact. 
2. Identify and convert new opportunities through proactive outreach, lead generation, and effective nurture tactics to deliver new business income. 
3. Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring a high-quality centre experience that builds trust and long-term loyalty. 

Key responsibilities:

Retain and grow existing centre relationships 

• Manage a portfolio of existing centres, ensuring regular and meaningful engagement aligned to their needs, delivery patterns, and growth potential. 
• Deliver against annual centre income targets by supporting centres to continue and expand programme delivery. 
• Develop and implement tailored engagement plans that reflect sector priorities, sector and programme maturity, and centre feedback. 
• Analyse Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards to identify retention risks, spot growth opportunities, and respond to trends with proactive support. 
• Coordinate requalification conversations and re-engagement activity to sustain long-term partnerships. 

Generate and convert new business 

• Identify and research high-potential leads across your allocated sectors (e.g., secondary, FE, community) using BI and CRM insights, sector intelligence, and marketing-generated activity. 

• Plan and deliver proactive outreach activity via a Sector Development Plans. 

• Build and maintain a personal pipeline of prospects and log progress regularly updating conversion insight and forecasts. 

• Support new centre onboarding, from initial conversations through to registration and early delivery support. 

• Collaborate with Marketing on lead nurture campaigns, sales funnel activities, and content that targets sector-specific priorities. 

Deliver outstanding customer experience 

• Serve as a primary point of contact for your centres, responding promptly and professionally to queries, issues, and feedback. 

• Ensure every interaction reflects the Leadership Skills Foundation’s values. 

• Maintain consistent and accurate records of communications, registrations, and engagement history. 

• Support customer feedback collection and contribute to the analysis of satisfaction and improvement opportunities. 

• Champion a customer-first mindset and share insight to improve performance against our customer experience objectives. 

Use data and insight to drive decisions 

• Regularly review and report on programme performance, income data, and registration trends for your assigned centres and sectors. 

• Use BI dashboards and management reports to inform your planning, prioritisation, and stakeholder engagement. 

• Report on your own progress against KPIs and contribute to departmental performance reviews and forecasting activities. 

Collaborate across teams and support innovation 

• Work closely with key teams to coordinate campaigns, messaging, and respond to customer feedback. 

• Feedback insight from centres to inform programme development and sector-specific improvements. 

• Contribute to team planning meetings, training sessions, and department-wide initiatives. 

• Support the induction of new team members and contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused team culture. 

Skills, experience, and knowledge

Essential 

• Previous experience in a customer supporting role, with an emphasis on relationship management and customer experience.  
• An understanding of education systems in the UK.
• An understanding of initiating prospect engagement, business development strategies and meeting sales targets.

Details of Job

The Events and Communications Officer will work across the team to plan, produce and deliver a calendar of in-person and on-line events. They will also communicate our work to external audiences to drive the participation of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in our programmes and attract potential funding from corporates, grant-makers, and government bodies.

The post holder will work with the programme team to manage a calendar of online and in-person events and oversee the event process from beginning to end. The post holder will manage ticketing platforms, oversee event budgets and logistics and create event briefings to ensure alignment between external speakers and team members. This will include overseeing the set-up of IT and technology to ensure smooth event delivery and acting as a main contact point for external event partners. After events, the post holder will manage communications with external partners and audiences, log their participation in the CRM system and produce timely reports on event outcomes for the programme team contributing to evaluation and learning cycles.

The post holder will also work with the Director and programme team to deliver the charity’s marketing and communications plan. They will maintain and grow our brand identity and tone of voice by using social media platforms, paid advertising campaigns and creating original content for our website to share our impact, drive participation and grow our partnerships. They will also work with a variety of external stakeholders to share Heart of the City’s impact, grow our network and drive greater participation and engagement in our work.
