Role Summary

• The School Engagement Coordinator for Northern Ireland serves as a crucial liaison for the Into Film programme in the region. This role involves actively engaging with schools and educators to promote and support their participation in various initiatives related to film, games, and creative media.
• The Engagement Coordinator will be instrumental in ensuring that schools and teachers have access to the full range of educational resources, training, and opportunities offered by Into Film. They will collaborate closely with the Northern Ireland team to provide tailored support and foster meaningful connections between schools, the creative arts, and the industry.

Given the nature of the role, the Co-ordinator may need to work occasional weekends and extended hours, as well as travel regularly to designated regions and occasionally elsewhere in the UK.

Main Responsibilities: 

• Proactively engage with schools, teachers, and educational stakeholders across Northern Ireland to raise awareness of Into Film's programmes and resources.
• Deliver a range of educational activities, including school workshops, screenings and industry events, tailored to the needs of the local area.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with schools, creative organisations, and screen industry bodies to support the delivery of Into Film's initiatives in NI.
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of Northern Ireland-specific programmes, including Story Builder, Games, Teaching with Film, Careers and Progression, and Young Creatives.
• Collaborate with teams across Into Film to ensure a joined-up approach to programme delivery, KPI achievement, and budgetary oversight.
• Ensure that Into Film's programmes respond to local needs and reach across Northern Ireland, while also feeding into the organization's UK-wide initiatives.
• Manage local partnerships and relationships, utilising CRM (Salesforce) to input and analyse data, create reports, and inform programme design.
• Support the existing Northern Ireland team with the delivery of locally funded projects and initiatives.
• Any other reasonable duties assigned by Into Film.

General Responsibilities:

Person Specification:

Minimum Requirements:

• Significant experience in designing and delivering engaging educational programmes, including youth workshops and industry-facing events.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Northern Ireland education system, curriculum, and the local creative/screen industries.
• A track record of establishing and nurturing partnerships with schools, organisations, and industry stakeholders.
• Proven ability to successfully manage projects, including cross-departmental collaboration, budget oversight, and timely delivery.
• Experience in using data to generate reports, analyse programme impact, and inform future initiatives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the capacity to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

About The Role
Do you have ability to build positive relationships and identify new fundraising opportunities? Would you like the opportunity to make a difference for people affected by dementia, by engaging with supporters across the South of Northern Ireland?

We are recruiting for a Regional Fundraiser covering the South of Northern Ireland to join on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week on a fixed-term contract until September 2026. This role is homebased but will require you to travel across the South of Northern Ireland with the aim of growing income across the region to exceed fundraising targets.

As Regional Fundraiser, you will be the main contact for regional fundraising within this geographical area, you will represent and promote the work, vision, and purpose of the Society locally, whilst also promoting and supporting the wider work of the Regional Engagement team. Essentially, you’ll be the ‘fundraising face’ of the Alzheimer’s Society engaging and inspiring your supporters to raise funds and awareness for us.

You’ll be building mutually beneficial relationships across the core counties in your area including, Bangor, Lisburn, Portadown, Armagh, Newry, Newcastle, Downpatrick and the outskirts of Belfast. You’ll work collaboratively with others to provide exceptional stewardship for our supporters, whilst remaining adaptable and ready to focus on other areas where funds are also raised.

This might mean you’re helping to attract new supporters from different places or taking care of existing supporters across various income streams in other areas. We will seek to maximise your skills effectively in your core counties, while also making sure they benefit the wider region's needs, enabling you to make a big contribution to fundraising for people affected by dementia.

Interviews for this role have been provisionally scheduled to take place (via MS Teams) on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th October.

About you
Joining us, you will have experience in relationship community fundraising or similar transferrable skills such as the ability to build rapport, communicate effectively and use emotional intelligence when engaging with others. You’ll have experience of delivering excellent customer service, account managing or supporter stewardship, ensuring that people you work with feel valued and appreciated.

Crucially, you’ll be able to identify and establish new opportunities with a good understanding of budgeting and financial management combined with the ability to analyse data and information to make informed decisions.

This is an exciting role which will require you to travel across the geographical area of South Northern Ireland, therefore you’ll need to be able to work remotely and independently with a full driving licence and access to a car. Ultimately, this role will enable you to connect with others and build and develop your relationship fundraising and sector experience in a major national charity.

What you’ll focus on:

- Working proactively to identify and deliver new fundraising opportunities within the South of Northern Ireland, through pipelining and winning new income from Corporate, Groups and Associations, Individuals and Third-party activities to maximise income streams.
- Relationship building, providing exceptional stewardship to build relationships that boost retention and lifetime value for our supporters.
- Acquisition and pipelining, driving new business income (from prospecting through to pitch development and delivery) and achieving financial targets.
- Recruiting and managing volunteers in line with the activity plan.
- Working with a budget to manage and deliver income, providing detailed commentary and insights to the line manager on variances, capacity and trends at regular intervals agreed.
- Maintaining effective relationships with colleagues and identifying cross-departmental opportunities where appropriate by working collaboratively.

The Role

The service operates in a fast-paced, person-centred environment, where Coordinators identify and respond to the evolving needs of stroke survivors and their carers. This includes delivering structured reviews at six months post-stroke, supporting stroke survivors in their ongoing recovery and helping them achieve their personal goals.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Work as part of a team to plan and deliver engaging peer support and communication groups
• Attend multi-disciplinary meetings with the local stroke therapy team, contributing to joined-up care

LOCATION OF THE POST HOLDER 

The post holder will be required to work from our drop-in space and office in Central Glasgow and will have flexibility to work from home. There may be occasional travel throughout Scotland and the UK as part of the role, including to NUM’s main offices in Manchester. All equipment required for remote working will be provided and costs for travel outside of normal working spaces will be reimbursed by NUM.

ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for an outstanding organiser and communicator to manage NUMbrella Lane (NBL) in Glasgow.  NUMbrella Lane has been operating since 2022 after NUM took over aspects of the programming from the charity that ran Umbrella Lane. Since then, the project has evolved to provide in-person health and wellbeing support to Scotland-based sex workers and host events and outings within the community with a focus on community connectivity, reducing isolation and addressed root causes of interpersonal and intersectional violence. NBL is one of few sex worker-led services in the region and we seek innovative leadership that will execute our framework for change, build on partnerships, increase financial resources, and improve the service to the quality requested by communities of sex workers who live in or tour Scotland. 

The post holder is a key point of contact who will further develop health testing services and other material support with, by and for sex workers. The NBL manager will co-design service delivery plans based on the needs of the community and NUM’s larger strategic vision; support the work of the Victim Support Case Worker based at NUMbrella Lane, the Mental Health Support Service Coordinator, and a new post, the Vocational Support Worker. The manager will be required to ensure the delivery of regular drop-in sessions, outings and events, and digital services in consultation with sex workers in Scotland and collaborate with the Manager of Support Services to support Victim and Vocational case work services to Glaswegians. 

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 2 years’ experience as a manager in a position of public trust or in other leadership roles, have an excellent track record in program management and community development. Experience in or knowledge of adult industries is highly desirable. We value lived experience and welcome applicants with insight into the sector, but we do not require applicants to disclose personal histories. Experience with charity sector fund development and community development among marginalised communities are an asset. 

The NBL manager must be knowledgeable about sex workers’ lived experiences, the socio-legal and political contexts within which sex workers and NUM are situated, and the ability to navigate a difficult terrain towards improving the systems, structures and services that influence the health and wellbeing of sex workers in Scotland in service to our mandate to 'end all forms of violence against sex workers' and eliminate the conditions that lead to poverty and survival sex work.

ABOUT NUM

National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is a UK-wide charity providing victim/survivor support and violence prevention services to sex workers, to ensure greater access to justice and protection. We serve sex workers of all genders, backgrounds and modes of work. We offer a digital tools reporting and alerting mechanism to warn sex workers about dangerous individuals who may target them; online screening tools; and individualised support for those who experience harm from a specialist team of Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA) and other experts. Some of this victim support work is done within formal partnerships with sister organisation. We run a wellbeing drop-in service in Glasgow and other in-person services and events in Manchester and London. We have developed Vocational Support Services for those exploring careers both in and outside of sex industries and we run a Racial Justice project that visibilises the lived experiences of harm among racialised sex workers towards systems change. We are currently enhancing services for sex workers who are 18-25 years of age and those under 30. 

NUM values those with lived experience in sex industries and work with them to shape services and responses, conduct research, develop education packages, and participate in policy advocacy to change the conditions that lead to survival sex work, gain rights and recognition, and improve the safety of UK-based sex workers. 

NUM is run by our CEO and governance is provided by a board of Trustees.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

• At least 2 years' work experience as a manager or coordinator leading implementation of projects and services to marginalised populations with experience being responsible for environments and services.

• Proven people management skills, including line management, supervision and coaching of staff and volunteers

• Experience in project and partnership development, budgeting and fundraising. 

• Monitoring and evaluation skills, including data collection and reporting to funders.

• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to problem-solve and be proactive, within busy and challenging work environments.

• A deep understanding of marginalisation and the health, safety and rights issues confronting sex workers in Scotland, as it relates to programming priorities, advocacy and partnerships. 

• High quality administrative skills and experience working with digital programs to document activities, deliver tasks on time and on budget. Specifically, proficiency with CRM systems, applications and digital platforms and services, particularly Google Workplace, the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as Slack, Trello, and other project management programs and tools.

Who you are: An excellent communicator, with the ability to engage and inspire and a proven ability to get things done.  You will have strong, robust, and consistent leadership skills, and be capable of making sound judgments under pressure and ensuring timely resolutions.  Proven experience in managing or leading a team within a service delivery environment is a must as is experience in safeguarding, and managing risk, including clinical escalation and operational risk mitigation.

You will have a visible, approachable and supportive leadership style, combined with resilience and adaptability, a collaborative mindset and a commitment to Brake’s mission to support road victims and create safer roads for everyone.

 

Specifically seeking candidates with:

- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to delegate effectively

- Proven experience in managing or leading a team within a service delivery environment

- Competence in managing risk, including clinical escalation and operational risk mitigation

- Commitment to inclusivity, fairness, and promoting a culture of equality

- Competence in monitoring performance metrics and reporting outcomes to senior leadership

- A full, clean UK driving licence (if you are a driver)

- competent IT skills for remote work
