About the role

Supporter Care is about inspiring people and giving them the opportunity to do something amazing. This role will suit you as an enthusiastic, adaptable and proactive team player. You’ll use your exceptional interpersonal skills to deliver a memorable experience to Crisis supporters and members of the public, adding value to every interaction.

As a key member of the Fundraising Department, you will handle inbound contacts with potential and existing supporters over multiple channels, delivering an exceptional quality of service to queries related to our new products and services including retail. And you’ll help to improve the supporter experience by identifying and helping to resolve issues in the supporter journey, particularly those relating to our website. This is an exciting time to join our team and contribute to us establishing how we can add real value to our engagement with supporters. We will work together to make sure the supporters' voices are heard and at the heart of our fundraising and decision-making.

We run a range of our own community services to support local older people and children, young people, and their families from refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people.

Katherine Low Settlement’s work with older people 

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. 

Our services include Battersea Bites, Age Well and Core social activities and digital inclusion.

We work with people 50+ to: 

• Encourage active and independent living 

• Reduce isolation and loneliness 

• Improve well-being and prevent ill-health 

• Engage members to be dynamic and contributing members of the Wandsworth community.

Key Objectives for this Role 

Oversee the day-to-day running of our Battersea Bites Programme that includes a lunch club for people 50+ that runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and a healthy eating session on Mondays. This includes leading in the planning, shopping and preparation and provision of meals, the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen including overseeing a team of volunteers and ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements. 

Roles & Responsibilities 

Planning 

• Plan and develop a monthly lunch service menu, a month in advance, using creative license to provide nutritious, varied, and satisfying meals that meet diverse dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, cultural needs, vegetarian/vegan options) while strictly adhering to Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations. 

• Develop ideas for Battersea Bites Healthy cook and eat/ other sessions with the Age Well Team.

• Handle purchases and expense tracking using the Soldo card, ensuring full compliance with the bank card usage policy, and submitting all receipts and records promptly and accurately for financial oversight and reporting, for which training can be provided.

• Create several themed menus throughout the year which will engage members. For example, a Summer Lunch, an Afternoon Tea, etc.

• Support the planning of the older people’s lunch club with older people themselves

• Support the Elders team to welcome and support new members to feel part of the programme. 

Delivery 

• Complete a weekly food shop either online (we currently use Asda delivery service) or locally, buying fresh ingredients weekly which fall within the financial budget. 

• Prepare, cook and serve healthy meals, ensuring dietary needs are met 

• Undertake stock control such as stock rotation, ensuring all food items are labelled with expiry dates and disposed of when necessary. 

• Ensure all equipment is ready and set up for the lunch club service. 

• Ensure the security of the kitchen and store cupboards to provide a safe working environment. (Our cupboards are locked.)

• To ensure routine day-to-day as well as specialised cleaning of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, kitchen floors and storage areas. 

• Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including the health and safety folder containing opening and closing checks. Training can be provided.

• Ensure your hygiene and cleanliness are of the highest standard, and those of anyone entering the kitchen, including volunteers, are suitably dressed and uphold the same standards 

• Be part of and work closely with the Elders Team at KLS 

• Support elders who attend the club so that the sessions are safe and enjoyable for them.

• Inform the Manager (or in their absence the Head of Service) of any concerning incidents, compliments, complaints or accidents (including safeguarding issues).

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills by quickly and calmly addressing kitchen challenges and ensuring smooth meal preparation under pressure.

• Take part in the monitoring and evaluation of the programme under the guidance of the Managers of the 50+ programme

• Coordinate with staff and volunteers to ensure efficient meal service.

• To attend any relevant training sessions to ensure that you are fully equipped to perform your role effectively

• To actively assist in the continuation of our high food hygiene rating

• Have acquired or are willing to Level 2 and Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate

Coordination of Battersea Bites Volunteers 

• Form and build positive working relationships with volunteers who work within Battersea Bites. 

• Take responsibility for coordinating individual volunteers and respond effectively to their feedback, and report any concerns to the Core Manager.

The grants operations and data manager is a newly created role, within Moorfields Eye Charity's grants and research team, to support, manage and develop grant funding operations. This is a really exciting time to join the team as this position will play a key role in the ongoing optimisation of the teams grants management system (Flexigrant, implemented 2024) and also the underpinning funding operations to support the delivery of our first grants strategy, due to be launched in early 2026.

About the role

You will be joining a supportive grants and research team who are committed to ensuring the charity has robust grant making mechanisms to determine best use of charitable funding together with monitoring and evaluating projects and programmes.

You will have an established track record in grant-making, ideally in a health or medical research charity. JOB DESCRIPTION

Department/Service:

The finance department is responsible for the overall financial management and administration of the 4million turnover at GSU. The department plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, including HMRC, Charities Commission, Companies House, and pensions. This includes supporting our annual external financial audit.

The finance team act as Business Partners to the rest of the organisation ensuring they understand financial processes to aid effective working. The team also work alongside our external payroll provider and our external digital system provider to ensure smooth and effective working.

Job Purpose:

Provide a professional, accurate, and timely accounting service in respect to all management and statutory reporting. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external support services to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance department, ensuring excellence in service delivery.

Reports to:

• Currently reporting to the CEO whilst the senior management role in the Finance Department is under review. The senior management post is currently vacant.

Responsible for:

• Supporting, managing, supervising, and developing one Finance Coordinator and one Finance Assistant.
• Temporary Interns and/or student staff supporting the Finance team as required

Duties and Key Responsibilities

1. Management and Statutory Reporting:

• Prepare accurate management accounts on a timely basis each month.
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly, including accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare and submit statutory reports, including VAT Returns, Companies House, and Charities Commission Annual Returns.
• Support the preparation of the annual accounts for the external financial audit and play an instrumental role during the audit process.
• Reconcile GSU bank accounts including PayPal online accounts weekly and monthly.
• Reconcile Commercial Income to Bank Accounts producing weekly sales and analysis reports.

2. Budgeting, Forecasting, and Cashflow Statements:

• Support in the preparation of the annual budget and reforecasts.
• Create forecast reports and statements as and when required.
• Produce monthly and annual cashflow and liquidity statements.

3. Business Partnering and Collaboration:

• Act as a business partner to all GSU staff members, providing financial insights and support to meet organisational goals.
• Work alongside external support services (e.g., payroll providers and digital finance systems) to ensure smooth operations and excellence in the Finance department.
• Collaborate with external auditors and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective financial management.

4. Managing and Supervisory Duties:

• Supervise and support the professional development of two GSU finance staff members.
• Foster a team culture that promotes accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
• Oversee the responsibilities of Finance Coordinator and Finance Administrator and ensure their tasks align with departmental goals.
• Supervise and support interns and student staff as appropriate.

5. Digital Systems and Processes:

• Maintain efficient digital finance systems and processes to streamline financial operations (Twinfield, Ezora & Basecone for example).
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of digital records and reporting systems.
• Evaluate and improve digital tools and workflows to enhance departmental efficiency.

6. General Finance Department Duties:

• Oversee and assist with sales ledger, purchase ledger, and payroll functions as needed.
• Support the Finance Coordinator and Finance Assistant to issue and maintain records of purchase orders and associated invoices.
• Support the Finance Coordinator and Finance Assistant to maintain and post all petty cash transactions.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and information for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Trustee Board, and other stakeholders as required.
• Respond proactively to financial queries from GSU staff.
• Support the ongoing review and development of Finance department systems and procedures.
• Maintain customer-facing systems and ensure smooth operations for Finance department stakeholders.

7. External Audit and Compliance:

• Prepare schedules and reconciliations for the annual audit.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HMRC and Charities Commission guidelines.

About KLS’ Future Foundations education team 

Future Foundations is an education programme of Katherine Low Settlement. Since 2004, KLS’ Future Foundations education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family (if they have one) needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school.

We’re looking for a proactive individual who is passionate about volunteering to join our team. Our Volunteer Coordinators are responsible for co-ordinating volunteer recruitments, providing volunteer management advice and guidance to staff who work with volunteers, and establishing positive relationships with volunteers to ensure they have a fulfilling volunteer experience at Battersea.

Established in 1997, Jigsaw4u provide a range of services for children, young people, families and vulnerable adults experiencing complex social and emotional difficulties across South West London. 2wish Cymru and 2wish:

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.

We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of the families, so they don't have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.

We were founded as a Welsh organisation. However, in January 2024 we expanded in to Phase 1 of England (Chesire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Somserset) and in July 2025, we expanded in to Phase 2 (Merseyside, Devon and Cornwall, Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a strong track record in fundraising. This is both a hands-on role and is pivotal to the ongoing success of our fundraising targets. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and being responsible for a small team of fundraisers, you will lead and motivate the team to reach their full potential.

Main duties:

Management & Service:

• To line manage the regional fundraising team
• To execute the organisation’s business plan
• To assist in the planning of any expansion into England, managing any staff recruited during the early days of growth

Salary: Starting salary of £32,000 per annum

Future Foundations is an education programme of Katherine Low Settlement. Since 2004, KLS’ Future Foundations education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family (if they have one) needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school. 

Key Objectives for this Role

Working with the Lead Youth Worker you will: 

Homework Clubs

•Collect up to date consent information for all young people joining Future Foundations

•Support with creating session plans for club nights

•Research and source necessary resources activities 

•Support to plan and run engaging and fun activities/ongoing projects for the young people

•Use participatory methods to involve young people about Clubs 

•Ensure children’s participation and encourage ownership of and responsibility for the Clubs

Your contribution to the team 

Your role as Project MEL and Grants Officer will be critical in achieving the goals of the Projects Team to deliver high-quality support in monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), project and grant management to colleagues across the organisation. You will support the Senior Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer to roll-out innovative approaches to how the organisation captures impact, shares success stories and learns from one another. You will support colleagues to understand compliance requirement of grants and to identify, assess and realign projects to ensure delivery against these requirements and project objectives. You will play a vital role to ensure the uptake and usability of our organisational grants and project management platform called PEBI (Project Ecosystem for Business Intelligence).

What you can expect in a typical day

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support project and organisational MEL 50%
• Support colleagues to design log frames, indicators and results framework for projects and how to align them with global indicators;
• Support colleagues to develop, improve and contextualise data collection and reporting tools and methodologies; 
• Participate in project start-up meetings and support colleagues to develop project M&E plans; 
• Plan and conduct internal reviews of key projects to support organisational learning and improvement of future projects; 
• Review data and information gathered either through systems (such as PEBI) or processes (such as Annual Reflection Process, cross-organisational meetings etc) to provide feedback to colleagues and feed into organisational learning; 
• Support the delivery of key learning and impact reporting products such as annual reports, internal review reports, quarterly management/progress reports; 
• Keep up to date with best practices in regards to MEL in order to provide recommendations on how organisational MEL systems and processes can be improved. 
 

Management of project management system (PEBI) 25%

 • Support PEBI champions to motivate their users to regularly update data in the system PEBI, enabling and facilitating the optimal use of the platform;
• Provide initial technical support to champions on issues with the system, in consultation with the Projects Team and escalate as necessary;
• Help to identify ways the system can be continuously improved and fully used;
• Maintain the user guide to PEBI and train new champions or support champions to onboard new users;
• Be the administrative lead for the system maintaining user access within the organisation and liaise with external consultants;
• Coordinate and lead regular meetings with champions across the network to update, discuss issues and best practice and share lessons learned;

Support contract management and project management function 20%

• Provide support to teams with regards to donor or other stakeholders contract management for the implementation of projects; 
• Review and maintain an up-to-date centralised grants filing system; 
• Where necessary, support colleagues to review and amend project documents such as plans and contracts to ensure delivery against project objectives and donor requirements;

Team support 5%
• Ensure the organisation is aware of what the projects team are working on, leading on drafting internal communications and coordinating check-ins with other teams to have a steady flow of information; 
• Undertake other tasks as are appropriate to the nature and scope of the post.

What you will bring to the role

Knowledge and Skills:

Essential
• Full understanding of grant management, project implementation tools and procedures; 
• Project MEL including designing MEL plan, data collection tools and indicators; 
• Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to relate with diverse people from different cultures; 
• Strong organisation, time management, communication and coordination skills; 
• Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment and to multi-task, across different time zones; 
• Strong Excel skills and numeracy and budgeting skills;
• Attention to detail; 
• Excellent computer skills, particularly MS Office package (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint) and some experience of using information management systems and databases;
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with outstanding writing skills; 
• Approachable, flexible and supportive; 
• Able to work well under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.

Desirable
• Knowledge of human rights and/or key freedom of expression issues; 
• Experience of working in countries/regions where ARTICLE 19 works; 
• Develop innovative and creative proposal presentations/templates to increase our likelihood of winning proposals;

• Language skills in at least one of the other ARTICLE 19’s languages, i.e. French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Dutch. 

Experience:
Essential
• Relevant experience in supporting a team; 
• Experience working with donors, particularly EC, DRL, SIDA; 
• At least 2 years of work experience in project support functions including donor compliance, project management and MEL.

​Desirable
• Experience of working in an international organisation; 
• Experience of cross-team and long-distance working; 
• 2 years experience in working on an online project management system; 
• Experience with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Plan or Microsoft Tasks.
