- Managing the steady stream of legacy case work, including pecuniary, specific, life interest, and residuary legacies.

About you

We are looking for candidates with demonstrable experience in a charity legacy or estate administration role who can balance the two sides to this role. The legal administration of legacy income requires excellent attention to detail, but the legacy marketing responsibilities also require project management and creative skills to manage activity that can build on St Mungo’s portfolio of legacy supporters.
- You will be proactive and empathetic with a flexible approach and be comfortable managing your own time and projects.

This role will involve managing and developing a portfolio of major donors and prospects, crafting compelling proposals, delivering outstanding stewardship, and working collaboratively with senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Raise significant income from high-net-worth individuals, personally cultivating a portfolio of major donors and securing six-figure+ gifts in support of capital, core, and scientific projects.
- Develop and deliver compelling cases for support, working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align fundraising opportunities with donor interests and organisational priorities.
- Plan and implement tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies, leveraging senior stakeholders and leadership where appropriate to maximise donor engagement and giving potential.
- Provide outstanding stewardship and donor relationship management, including high-quality communications, briefings, events, and robust gift reporting.
- Support the development of a strong donor pipeline, mentoring the Philanthropy Executive and contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting, working closely with Finance and administrative teams to track income, ensure compliance with funding agreements, and uphold data integrity on the CRM system.
Person Specification
- Proven track record of securing and managing gifts from high-net-worth individuals, including prospect research, proposal development, and effective stewardship.
- Direct fundraising experience within the cultural, environmental, or heritage sectors.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of funders, prospects, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborative and proactive approach to developing high-quality, fundable project proposals in partnership with colleagues.
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with international donors and an interest and or understanding of global philanthropy trends.

Salary: £37,280 starting salary (salary range will increase to a max £39,862 via the length of service) per annum plus £4,324 Inner London Weighting if based in the London office per annum
Contract: Fixed Term contract until 30 June 2026
Hours: Full-time. 35 hours per week (excluding lunch breaks). Some evening and weekend work may be required for which time off in lieu should be claimed.
Location: Any Refugee Action Office: London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bradford. We will consider a UK-based hybrid working option.

About the post
This exciting role would mean joining Refugee Action at a crucial point in the charity’s 40-year history, full of opportunity and potential. You will use your creative skills to support the creation of innovative digital content to engage and mobilise existing supporters and add to Refugee Action’s rapidly growing audience. Working between the fundraising and campaigns team, this role will support the Digital Communications Manager to deliver our ambitious digital strategy, focusing on the development of engaging digital content, the management of one of our key supporter databases, and will lead on the engagement and retention work which supports Refugee Action’s fundraising and campaigning.
We are looking for candidates that can demonstrate:
• Commitment to removing barriers to power for people with lived experience, and commitment to anti-racist practices.
• Understanding of how the UK’s hostile refugee protection and asylum system impacts those affected by it.
• Strong understanding of the role of digital tactics in the development and execution of campaign strategies.
• Strong writing, editing and proof-reading skills, with experience of using these within a fast-paced environment and adapting content for difference audiences.
• Experience of maintaining and nurturing social media communities and creating impactful digital content.
• Knowledge of Facebook advertising, including the set-up, management and analysis of ad performance.
• Experience using Canva, or Adobe creative software – particularly Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere.
• Experience of using Engaging Networks or similar system or proven ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Thorough understanding of website optimisation with experience working with website content management systems.
• Experience of using Google AdWords, and of using reporting and analytics tools, such as Google Analytics.
• Understanding of the digital landscape, and emerging trends in web and social technology and digital fundraising.
