Strategy and Leadership

• To support the day-to-day management of the charity and contribute to the organisation’s strategic direction and growth, as part of the senior leadership team.

Budgeting, Reporting and Compliance

• To set, monitor and deliver annual income and expenditure budgets, providing regular reports as required to the Executive Director, Leadership team, wider Mary’s Meals family, and our Board of Trustees.
• To feed into organisational strategic KPIs and team KPIs, and ensure a regular schedule of reporting, and insight gathering is in place to monitor activity and use insight to guide decision-making and drive growth. 

People and culture

• To create a high performing team that is ambitious and passionate about the Mary’s Meals vision.
• To ensure teams receive consistent and motivating direction and feedback to enable them to work to the best of their ability.
• Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the charity at all levels, adopting and encouraging a collaborative working approach across the Mary’s Meals family. This role must work particularly closely with the Director of Communications, and collaboration with this role will be key.

About you:

This is an amazing opportunity for someone with parenting experience to support new dads at a critical time in their parenting journey. The Dad Matters Coordinator will be passionate about supporting fathers to create strong secure bonds with their babies. You will have the compassion and skills to enable dads to have those difficult conversations, and talk about how they’re really feeling.

The Dad Matters Coordinator will deliver a range of universal and targeted interventions aimed at fathers in the First 1001 Days. You will support dads and other male carers with attachment and bonding, mental health and access to service. You will also work with professionals and perinatal services to ensure dads and male carers are engaged, supported and heard within clinical pathways. Additionally, you will help develop and run sessions with dads and will be at the forefront of growing our Dad Matters volunteering opportunities.

We are looking for someone who can build on our existing relationships in the borough and make a real impact on the mental health and wellbeing of new dads and dads-to-be.

Role overview 

This is a new role within FILE, providing dedicated thought leadership internally and externally with respect to our land use and nature strategies. You will support our partners to accelerate a transition to sustainable food production, secure and enforce sustainable frameworks for extraction of transition minerals, and contribute to safeguarding key global ecosystems, including through enhancing and protecting the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities.

You will work closely with the Director of Program Strategy, Regional Directors, and other portfolio leads to ensure land use and nature strategies are developed and integrated throughout our funding portfolios. Externally, you will build and maintain relationships with some of the world’s leading climate and biodiversity lawyers and campaigners, as well as with aligned philanthropies.

Our land use and nature work mainly supports partners working on protecting habitats in biodiversity rich areas of Africa, South America and South East Asia, including by challenging harmful practices of corporations based in the Global North. Its scope may shift over time, including as the successful candidate refines our strategy going forwards.

We seek to protect the rights of, and support partnerships with, indigenous people and local communities. Key strategic outcomes pursued include confronting supply chains of major corporates that drive greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity loss, and violate the rights of local communities, and securing regulatory changes to drive finance towards cleaner, more equitable alternatives.

Key Responsibilities

Each of these is conducted in close collaboration with relevant colleagues across FILE’s strategy teams, as well as FILE’s Research, Impact, and Learning, Grant Management, and Philanthropic Partnerships teams: 

• Lead the development of FILE’s land use and nature strategies, including a focus on legal and narrative and movement-building approaches, as well as on enhancing and protecting the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities 

• These strategies will set out a well-considered approach to sectors and themes including exploitation of transition minerals, deforestation and biodiversity loss driven by industrial agriculture, addressing rights violations in global corporate supply chains, etc 

• Work in close collaboration with strategy, grant making and fundraising leads within FILE to increase access to funding sources and the resilience of partners working in the field

• Developing, maintaining and convening external partnerships and networks with partners and practitioners working on and use and nature strategies 

• Provide leadership to the wider philanthropic and donor community on the need for legal interventions in pursuit of FILE’s land use and nature strategy, and support fundraising for FILE as well as directly for our partners 

Key Outcomes 

• FILE has a well-considered land use and nature strategy, including a focus both on legal and related narrative and movement strategies, which is integrated throughout our funding portfolios

• Increased funding is made available to partner organisations working on land use and nature, via FILE or directly from other philanthropies

• FILE colleagues and external partners have a trusted thought partner and collaborator on developing and implementing land use and nature legal strategies 

• Overseeing / establishing high quality convening(s), with support of FILE’s Convening Manager, and networks of civil society and relevant legal practitioners and peers working in this area, to catalyse innovation and strengthen connectivity

• An ability to work flexibly as part of a team spread across many time zones, which will involve some meetings outside of standard working hours 

• A professional standard of written and spoken English

Desired criteria 

• A current or past qualification / bar admission as a lawyer 

• Experience of working as a lawyer on strategic litigation against governments, corporations, or financial institutions 

• Demonstrated experience of building and / or maintaining external networks, bringing expert practitioners and / or civil society together 

• Experience working with communities adversely affected by climate change, environmental harms, and/or related human rights violations, particularly in the Global South

Job Summary
The Finance Business Partner in Volunteering is responsible for providing the first line of support and assistance with the development of financial plans, analysis of the financial performance and forecasts of the Adult Volunteering area, in order to provide high quality business insight to both support and influence strategic decision making by St John’s management teams. About You
You are a fully qualified professional accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). Ideally you have gained experience in the charity sector and large complex organisations. You can demonstrate previous experience in a finance business partner role with a track record of supporting the end-to-end processes for in-year forecasts and annual budgets and three-year plans that are aligned to business strategy. You have significant experience in managing the day-to-day, monthly and annual production of management accounting processes. To be successful you can demonstrate excellent skills in influencing with confidence and gravitas to respectfully challenge. You are naturally curious with a genuine interest in change and technology. You take personal ownership and possess a flexible 'can do' mind set and you are able to build and maintain effective networks both internally and externally.

• Deliver high quality business and financial analysis, with detailed outcomes and benefits, to identify and present coherent rationales for change, to support continued coordinated, consistent and effective delivery of services across St John
• Provide impactful and effective finance business partnering to St John Budget Holders, the Senior Management and Executive Teams
• Work with the relevant stakeholders, to timetable in the production of the charity’s monthly management accounts and the annual budgeting and in-year forecasting process that is the aligned to business plans
• Drive continuous improvement in St John’s financial management reporting, forecasting and analysis
• Drive continuous customer experience improvement by simplifying and improving St John’s financial processes, to provide your collective internal and external customers, an efficient and effective finance experience
• Utilise technology and tools to continuously improve the presentation and content of the charity’s financial management reports to best support and meet the needs of Budget Holders, the Senior Management and Executive Teams
• Provide clear and understandable narrative to stakeholders and the rest of the team, advocating good accounting principles and helping to educate, inform and develop others within the wider finance team
• Identify financial risks and ensure that adequate measures and controls are in place for them to controlled and managed, or escalated where necessary
• Identify and implement cost and efficiency savings, where applicable and appropriate, without compromising the quality of the service and accuracy of the reporting.
• Work with operational business partners to provide the financial analysis and appraisal for business cases, including cost/benefit of capex investment projects, and support the preparation and submission of business cases to Executive Teams for approval

The Scaling Up Nutrition Movement (SUN) is a network of Governments, Donors, Businesses, UN agencies and civil society organisations - coming together with the collective aim of ending malnutrition. The SUN Civil Society Network (CSN) Secretariat, a global team of 10 members of staff hosted at Save the Children UK and Save the Children International, plays a crucial role in supporting, coordinating and amplifying the work of over 5,000 civil society organisations and young people across 67 countries.  This support is delivered through capacity-building, knowledge management, cross-country learning, advocacy and communications – from local to global level - to for improved nutrition outcomes.

About the role

As Communications Adviser, you will shape and lead SUN CSN's communications and member engagement strategy — from amplifying community voices to showcasing change-makers across the nutrition sector. You will produce innovative multimedia content, manage digital channels, oversee newsletters and social media, and maintain our website as a go-to hub for news and resources.

In this pivotal role, you'll also collaborate with global partners from within and outside the SUN Movement, manage communications projects, and support the launch of our new SUN CSN Strategy 4.0 (2026–2030). Some international travel may be required to capture stories firsthand. You will also be working with people from different backgrounds who speak other languages so mastering French and Spanish, as well as AI-generated translation tools, would be important in this role.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the SUN CSN website strategy and work closely with web developers.

• Manage and grow social media presence to engage network members and key global health audiences.

• Create inspiring, high-quality content — including community stories, newsletters (in English, French, and Spanish), campaign materials, and more.

• Lead and coordinate the annual SUN CSN Excellence Awards.

• Develop and facilitate communications training sessions with materials tailored to Network members' needs.

• Support advocacy efforts through creative communications.

• Collaborate across team members to align messaging and maximize impact.

About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Degree or equivalent experience in communications, international development, public health, nutrition, or a related field.

• Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.

• Experienced in managing websites (WordPress), social media (Hootsuite), newsletters (Mailchimp), and graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe, Premier Pro).

• Skills in using AI tools to enhance communications efficiency.

• Language skills in French and/or Spanish are highly desirable (or experience working with AI translation tools).

• Commitment to Save the Children's vision, mission and values.

• A commitment to SUN CSN's mission and values, with an interest in nutrition, food security, and global health.

Ways of Working:

We're Hiring: Advocates - London Stalking Support Service, Stalking Threat Assessment Centre and National Advocacy
In partnership with MOPAC, this specialist role is your chance to support victims of stalking with expert advice and advocacy for London, all while hlping to shape a trauma-informed, survivor-led approach that leads the sector.  The Stalking Threat Assessment centre is a multi-agency partnership involving the Metropolitan Police, NHS mental health services and Probation services to effectively manage stalking perpetrators and support victims.  Advocates within this team are co-located within the STAC unit, minimum one day a week.

• Handle all incoming communications - phone, email and other communications
• Provide central administration support to the charity
