Compassion in World Farming International is the leading international farm animal welfare charity, campaigning to improve the lives of millions of farm animals through advocacy, lobbying for legislative change, and positive engagement with the global food industry. Our established international Food Business programme aims to raise baseline standards for farm animals by securing commitments, ensuring compliance and facilitating implementation of higher welfare policies and practices. In addition, we aim to drive corporate meat reduction strategies and targets in line with planetary health requirements, via our newly launched Rethinking Food workstream.

About the role
We are looking for a highly personable and skilled events and digital co-ordinator to join the UK Food Business team. This is an established team, responsible for improving animal welfare standards and developing sustainable supply chains across the global food industry. The right candidate will assist in the organisation of key events both in person and online to support the team to engage with key stakeholders in the chicken industry.
This is a vital role within Compassion’s Food Business Programme and offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact for farm animal welfare within a dynamic and influential global organisation. The right candidate will have a proven track record of organising forums, webinars and face to face round tables. You will need to be an influencer, a networker and capable of developing key business relationships. Importantly, there is plenty of scope to bring your own creativity, voice, and novel approach to driving change for farm animals. The role is embedded in a strong team with a multitude of expertise and skills to support and excite you - if you are ready for a challenge and can make a difference then we’d love to hear from you!
About you
Our ideal candidate will have a proven record of excelling in a minimum 2 of the 3 key pillars of the role and have knowledge / experience of the food industry. You’ll demonstrate persuasive communication, task management, time efficiency, and critical thinking skills. You’ll be able to remain composed under pressure, organised and be able to adapt to a multitude of asks and stakeholders expectations. Effective communication and timely decision-making are essential.

Lead Policy Analyst - Climate
Contract: Permanent, Full-time, 35 hours per week

About the Team:
This position will be based in WaterAid's Global Policy and Research Team (part of the Global Policy and Campaigns Department) and will report to the Director of Policy and Research. About the Role:
As Lead Policy Analyst-Climate, you will be a senior member of WaterAid's Global Policy and Research team. You will lead in developing informed WaterAid positions and options on building the resilience of WASH services to climate change; advocate for WASH as a key adaptation measure and contributor to stronger and more efficient systems; and highlight the urgent need for WASH services as worthy of consideration in climate financing.2
You'll also:
- Develop top-notch research initiatives and robust policy responses to the challenges presented by climate change and advocate for resilient WASH as a key adaptation measure;
- Lead in developing and implementing WaterAid climate resilient WASH influencing and thought leadership agenda;
- Represent WaterAid at global climate conventions, including CoPs and select national and regional climate discussions, to clearly articulate organisational positions and narratives, influence policies, and advocate for WASH inclusion in climate financing to be made easily accessible for poor, vulnerable communities in the global south;

- Experienced in working in public policy and advocacy on issues related to climate change with an extensive personal network in the climate action arena;
- Experienced in research, policy analysis, preparing policy/advocacy briefs and papers with impeccable verbal and written skills in English;
- Experienced in climate-related disciplines, such as environmental/earth sciences or other climate-related disciplines; water resources management experience to be considered an asset but not mandatory;

Role description
Results UK has a long and successful history of engaging with UK parliamentarians around international development issues and providing them with the briefings and questions they need to raise these issues in parliament. As the Parliamentary Advocacy Officer for Child Health, you will lead our parliamentary work on global child health issues (routine immunisation and polio eradication in particular) in line with our new strategy and commitment to equity. You will have a good understanding of how the UK Parliament works and how to engage parliamentarians in our issues.
You will lead relationships with UK parliamentarians around child health, including providing the Secretariat for the APPG Vaccinations for All.
Key responsibilities
Parliamentary advocacy

Working with the Head of Parliamentary Advocacy and others in the organisation to develop and implement a high impact and politically astute advocacy strategy for child health.

Alongside the specific global education strategy, contribute to the development of Results’ overarching parliamentary advocacy strategy, working closely with the Head of Parliamentary Advocacy and other members of the team.

Lead on the parliamentary work on child health for ResultsS UK, by building and strengthening relationships with MPs and Peers that result in their championing the end of poverty, specifically on malnutrition, and building support for nutrition interventions.

Provide the secretariat function to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Child Health. The APPG secretariat/coordinator function includes guiding the Group’s work programme and activities, arranging meetings and events, corresponding with the APPG Officers and Members, briefing MPs and Peers to ask questions or speak in parliamentary debates and representing the Group externally, for example with the FCDO, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, UNICEF and others.

Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of Parliamentary Delegations to other countries and advocacy tours to the UK, working with the relevant Policy Advocacy Officer and others in the Parliamentary Team.

Work closely with the Grassroots Advocacy Team to ensure parliamentary and grassroots campaigning activity is coordinated and the greatest impact is achieved between the relationships our grassroots campaigners build with their local MPs, and the work led from the office to support MPs in Parliament.

Ensure our parliamentary advocacy and relationships always remain non-partisan and cross-party, in line with our charitable aims and objectives.
Partners and coalitions

Liaise with other global Results organisations, the ACTION Global Health Advocacy Partnership Secretariat and other ACTION partners to coordinate our parliamentary advocacy at a global level.

Work closely with civil society and other partner organisations and allies in the UK to coordinate parliamentary advocacy in the UK.

Represent Results UK in global coalitions and consortia relevant to your lead issue area, such as the UK Gavi CSO Working Group, the Polio Resource Mobilisation Group and others as agreed with the Head of Parliamentary Advocacy.

Communications and media

Where capacity allows, identify media opportunities and support media activity (including traditional and social media) related to nutrition.

Person specification
This role is ideal for someone with public affairs or political advocacy experience, preferably in the UK, who understands the way that political decisions impact global poverty and wants to influence these decisions. A strong understanding of and passion for global health issues, particularly those that relate nutrition. Equally important is a proven ability to quickly gain an understanding of a complex new area and translate it into succinct, clear, achievable recommendations.
This post will provide excellent opportunities for leading parliamentary advocacy to deliver real change in funding and policy outcomes on child health and other issues; for building and deploying a strong understanding of key international development issues; and experience of working directly with UK parliamentarians and other actors across the international development sector.
Essential criteria

At least one year of experience in a substantial parliamentary or public affairs role with demonstrable success in managing relationships with parliamentarians from different parties.

Understanding of the UK Parliament (including the roles of MPs and Peers; the range of activity parliamentarians can undertake in parliament to influence Government policy; the role of APPGs; Select Committees).

About the Team:
The WaterAid Data Operations Team works in close collaboration with colleagues in the wider Community and Fundraising directorate as well as Finance, and the team plays a vital role ensuring that WaterAid UK adopts an insight-led and data-driven approach to maximising return on investment in fundraising and campaigning activity.
The Data Operations Team is responsible for the day-to-day running of WaterAid's CRM and Integration Hub. This responsibility requires that the team manage the input of data from external sources (import files from multiple agencies) via the Integration Hub and for the output of key financial processes such as the Gift Aid and Direct Debit claims, while ensuring that the systems are always available to end-users and that security and access are managed in accordance with best practice.
The team also hosts the Data Support function, providing resolution to most Data Operations related cases and allocating cases to other members of the wider department where appropriate.
About the Role:
As our positive and proactive Data Operations Officer you will play a crucial role in ensuring that key processes are efficiently executed and help to coordinate incoming support requests to the team. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of WaterAid's fundraising data, carrying out data quality checks and financial reconciliation.
You'll also be responsible for carrying out key financial processes from the database, such as Direct Debit and Gift Aid claims. We're looking for someone who is motivated and enthusiastic, with a high attention to detail and the ability to use their initiative to solve problems.
About You:
- Experience of working with data in a relational database
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent IT skills, with advanced experience of using Microsoft Excel and Word
- A solid understanding of the Direct Debit Scheme and Gift Aid
- Good understanding of fundraising products.
Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:
- Experience of using Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Experience of using a helpdesk application, with an ability to use initiative to prioritise effectively and provide support to colleagues.
- Experience of submitting Direct Debits to Bacs.

- Knowledge of SQL, SSMS and their application.

MAG is seeking an experienced Capacity Development Advisor to deliver sustainable and effective national capacity development, supporting national authorities and partners to improve their abilities in mine action activities.
This role reports directly to the Country Director (CD) of Ukraine and has a secondary reporting line to the Country Director (Azerbaijan). It will focus on two primary areas within the Eastern Europe region.
About the Ukraine programme
Since the Russian invasion of 24th February 2022, Ukraine has been subjected to heavy artillery bombardment, missile, and air strikes, as well as the use of landmines and cluster munitions. The scale of the conflict and the use of high impact and indiscriminate weapons requires an urgent and extensive response. MAG responded to the crisis in 2022 and now employs nearly 200 staff in our Ukraine programme, in a range of operational and support/administrative activities with further scale-up planned during 2024. The programme has a representation office in Kyiv, and operational offices in Mykolaiv (also covering accessible areas of Kherson) and now in Kharkiv.
In Ukraine, the CDA will oversee ongoing work with a prominent local NGO, the Ukrainian Deminers Association (UDA). Additionally, they will work on identifying another local demining NGO to initiate capacity development efforts in the near future.
About the Azerbaijan programme
In December 2021, MAG established a programme in Azerbaijan funded by the US State Department’s Office for Weapons Removal and Abatement (WRA) and the Canadian government’s Peace and Stabilisation Operations Program. The widespread use of landmines and UXO during conflicts between Azerbaijan and Armenia has created a renewed and urgent need to improve the country’s humanitarian mine action response.
Now funded by the US Dept of State and the EU, the current projects involve MAG working to improve our national partner NGO's ability to deliver high-quality humanitarian mine action activities to address new and legacy contamination, and in turn make affected regions safer for vulnerable communities and internally displaced people.
In Azerbaijan, the role will focus on strengthening relationships with both an established partner and a newer partner who currently has limited capacity to secure international donor funds. This will involve building upon initial capacity assessments and conducting comprehensive evaluations across various support services and mine action staff for operational tasks. The role will ensure coordination and support are aligned with national standards and regulations.
The Capacity Development Advisor (CDA) is expected to allocate 70% of their time to working with Ukraine and 30% with Azerbaijan. Initially, the role will involve an on-site deployment in Azerbaijan for the first 1-2 months, followed by remote support for 4-5 months, and concluding with another in-country visit, the duration of which will be determined based on programme needs. The remaining time will be dedicated to working with Ukrainian NGOs and possibly the Ukraine National Mine Action Centre.
About you
You should have experience working and living abroad, preferably in sensitive conflict or post-conflict settings, and possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You should be able to demonstrate a track record of fostering constructive relationships with key stakeholders including government counterparts, other implementing partners, international donor organisations, UN bodies, civil society, and private sector representatives.
Our preferred candidate demonstrates a proactive approach, adaptability to address evolving needs, and thrives within a multicultural team environment. You should be able to demonstrate your experience of Capacity Development within other similar organisations and have proficiency in English, alongside outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
The postholder should be willing and able to live and work in a remote and insecure environment with extremely restricted movement.
