We are looking for a Charity Shop Manager to cover shifts in both of the Harington Charity Shops in North London. The Charity Shop Manager (Cover) role, will be guaranteed 8.5 hours a week in our Hornsey charity shop. In addition to this there may be other variable hours over and above this, where they will be asked to provide cover when the Charity Shop Managers or Shop Assistants are on leave at either the Archway or Hornsey Charity Shops. Harington is an Ofsted regulated specialist college and charity based in north London, working with young people with learning differences aged 16-25. Our students undertake individualised learning programmes that lead to vocational qualifications and other aims, including gardening, retail, English, maths, employability and independent living. Our charity's learning centres in Highgate and Hornsey alongside our charity's gardening business and two charity shops, provide a unique opportunity for students to practically apply their learning on work experience placements. About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Patrons Manager, the Patrons Manager is responsible for cultivating a pipeline of potential Patrons, from prospecting through to making the ask. You will work to achieve significant growth of Patrons membership whilst ensuring the highest standards are met.
We are looking for a determined, self-led individual who will gain satisfaction from achieving ambitious targets.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Significantly increase income from the Patrons scheme in-line with the Museum's Patrons objectives and strategy, primarily through the recruitment of new Patrons.
- Work with Senior Patrons Manager and the department Research Manager, to prospect, cultivate and recruit new Patrons at all levels, with a particular focus currently on the £6,000 and £3,500 tiers (reviewable in future years).
- Work with the Membership Team to identify opportunities to promote the Patrons scheme, and to steward donors who may already be supporting the Museum.
- Feedback insight to support the stewardship and renewal of the Museum's existing Patrons.
- Work with the Patrons Coordinator to ensure that day-to-day enquiries from Patrons are answered in a timely fashion, and that any emerging issues are escalated where necessary.
- To ensure that all UK and international Patrons are aware of opportunities to give to the scheme in a tax efficient and effective manner.
About you:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a subject which requires excellent written skills.
- Experience in fundraising and private giving with sound knowledge of Annual Giving schemes.
- Experience in handling data (including financial data) and designing effective processes.
- Advanced organisational, planning and administrative skills, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Administrative skills and strong attention to detail.
- Resourceful, logical and analytical, with excellent problem-solving skills.

We are looking to recruit a Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement on a part-time contract. This is an exciting new role that will play a key part in our continued growth and will make a real impact on the teaching profession; we are looking for someone who believes in our mission and the work we do.
Working closely with the Deputy Chief Executive, Associate Director: Partnerships and the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Head of Member Acquisition and Engagement will take a lead on activity related to attracting and retaining our individual teacher members, including developing, rolling out and evaluating recruitment and retention programmes, initiatives and campaigns for current and prospective members. The successful candidate will be confident using data to inform decision-making and monitor progress towards membership growth targets and have the ability to work well independently and within a team.

Main area of work
The majority of your time will be spent developing, implementing and evaluating strategies to secure individual membership growth, including through retaining current members and attracting new members.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships externally and working with a range of colleagues across the organisation. You’ll be an expert on our products and services, and you’ll use our CRM system and other data sources to understand membership trends, challenges and opportunities.
You will ensure the Chartered College of Teaching is responsive to the needs of the sector, making sure that we understand our members and ensuring that every member gets maximum value from engagement with our products and services.
Additional areas of work
- Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager, planning recruitment campaigns and strategising content and resources for membership initiatives
- With the Associate Director: Partnerships, ensuring join-up between group membership sales and individual member sales
- Promoting and representing the Chartered College to potential members at events
- Working with the Membership Manager to ensure a seamless experience for members from their first interaction with us
- Recording, presenting, formatting and analysing data in a variety of ways to report to colleagues and stakeholders, including against KPIs.
- Performing other activities as and when required to support the wider team to achieve the charity’s goals.
Alongside your main areas of work, you will also participate in meetings and be encouraged to participate in CPD learning activities and training to maintain and develop your knowledge and skills.
You don’t need to have expertise in absolutely all areas, but we’re looking for someone who is motivated by our vision and truly passionate about membership growth and supporting teachers. Systems you would be using include Salesforce, DotDigital, Google Workspace, Zoom, Submittable and Slack.
Experience and skills:
- Experience in a sales or business development role (essential), with experience of membership or subscription sales highly desirable
- Experience working in the education sector (highly desirable)
- Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating sales initiatives and campaigns (essential)
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills (essential)
- Experience of Salesforce or other CRM systems (essential)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (desirable)

We are looking for a new team member to provide full administrative and programme support to the Employment & Careers team. We are seeking an Advanced Recovery Practitioner to support in the Women and Families team, within Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, working in partnership with Turning Point and Antidote. The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience in working within a substance misuse treatment and recovery setting, must have specialist training and supervision in one or more complexities alongside substance misuse. This may be mental health, long term conditions, criminal justice, offending behaviour, homelessness, motivational interviewing, safeguarding, family work. Have an understanding of risk and risk management, as it applies to substance misuse and complexity. Have a working knowledge of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults framework, the ability to follow procedure and development of a culture of safe practice. Ability to work under pressure and have significant experience of working in health and social care.
