Job description

Self Help Community Housing Association have been operating for over 40 years, working with people experiencing homelessness and additional support needs in Bristol.

We are seeking a skilled, resilient, empathetic Housing Officer to join our team and collaborate with colleagues to support our residents. The Housing Officer role is crucial to providing high quality housing management services to support our resident’s goals of addressing individual barriers to sustainable accommodation.

You will manage a small patch of properties (approximately 80) which will give you the opportunity to get to know our residents throughout Bristol. Duties will include;

  • Dealing with resident queries and concerns
  • Liaising with other agencies such as homelessness and social services
  • Working with our support workers to help your residents
  • Inspecting vacant homes and assessing what repairs or maintenance may be required
  • Supporting tenants with rent arrears and if necessary preparing court papers and attending court.
