About the role:

We’re looking for passionate, proactive Young Person’s Workers to join our teams, two in Greenwich and one in Lewisham. This is a hands-on, relationship-focused role where you’ll support young people to move towards stability, independence and long-term opportunity.

You’ll work directly with young people who may be facing housing instability and other challenges, providing personalised, practical support that builds confidence and resilience. Through strengths-based support planning and clear safety plans, you’ll help young people develop essential life skills - from managing a tenancy and budgeting, to accessing education, training and employment. Your role is to help them turn aspirations into achievable steps.

Day to day, you’ll coach and motivate young people to take ownership of their goals, whilst maintaining professional boundaries and managing risk confidently. You’ll work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external partners to ensure each young person has access to the right services at the right time. You’ll keep accurate records, review progress regularly and adapt support to reflect changing needs - always focused on sustainable outcomes.

This role is about more than providing support - it’s about unlocking potential. Role Responsibilities

Spear Programme

• Support in group coaching sessions of up to 12 young people. Coaching them around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to work or education and equipping them with the skills to stay there.
• You’ll be given all the training needed to deliver Spear through our professional coaching methodology.
• This coaching continues for Spear Career – the 6 months’ worth of follow-up support. You will oversee a caseload of trainees and support them in work, beyond the initial Foundation Phase of the programme.
• Lead weekly 1:1s with a cohort of young people to monitor their progress and support them in their journey to employment.
• As part of this you will help trainees evaluate their progress and determine their work readiness throughout the programme – coaching them through challenges, creating moments of breakthrough and setting goals.

Relationship Management 

• You’ll build relationships with relevant professionals at local organisations, and communicate directly with young people, to encourage referrals to the Spear programme.
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre.

Church Community 

• The Spear Coach is directly employed Tabernacle Baptist Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church team and immersed in an exciting faith community.
• Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within the church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation.
• Other relevant ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

Person Specification

• An active Christian, dedicated to representing the values and ethos of Spear and Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Role Responsibilities

Oversight of Spear Programme

Spear Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee 
per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to 
work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.

• Lead group sessions of around 12 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach.
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Spear, as well as their ongoing progress and 
  sustainment of work or education.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.

Line Management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Be line managed by Spear to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.

Church Community

• The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by Tabernacle Baptist Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church team and immersed in an exciting faith community.
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
• Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.

Site Management and set-up

• Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening.
• Liaise with relevant staff locally for on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.
• Other relevant ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

DIGITAL PLATFORMS & CONTENT MANAGEMENT (50%)

• Manage Mission 44’s communications calendar, ensuring timely and consistent content across website, email newsletter, and social media channels.
• Coordinate content scheduling, publishing and distribution to maximise reach and engagement.
• Maintain and update the Mission 44 website to meet organisational and audience needs, including publishing content and ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure our digital communications are consistent with compliance best practice, including as it relates to data protection and safeguarding.

CONTENT PRODUCTION (20%)

• Support the planning and delivery of creative content and digital campaigns to drive engagement and increase impact.

This role is initially offered on a one-year fixed term contract working term time, plus INSED days and a further three weeks during the school holidays (38 weeks). The role also has part time support provided by the Compliance Administrator.

Salary circa £63,000, depending on experience. This is based on full-time equivalent annual salary of £75,000.

About the team​

The Policy team is a small, collaborative and collegiate team looking to expand. We have a unique set-up, sitting separately to but working closely alongside the Communications team as part of the wider Public Affairs team. We influence key decision makers through direct engagement with senior officials, commissioning and sharing research and insight and supporting coalitions which include our portfolio charities to take their voice to decision makers to secure policy and funding commitments.

The team also works across the organisation, presenting insight to inform our investment decisions and making a compelling case to generate new financial commitments for our work.

About this role

The Public Affairs Officer is a new and exciting role in a rapidly expanding organisation at the forefront of youth policy. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the strengthening of Impetus’ public affairs profile, as well as support colleagues to strengthen and maintain relationships with parliamentarians, decision-makers, sector stakeholders and wider civil society.

We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to getting the support young people from disadvantaged background need in education and employment. You’ll have a passion for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across government and the third sector. You will have a good understanding of the UK’s policy environment with an interest in increasing your knowledge and relationships in this area and developing and expanding links with a range of parliamentary, government and other key stakeholders.

The Public Affairs Officer will be part of the wider Public Affairs Team. Though you will report to the Head of Youth Employment Policy, you will work across both our education and employment policy work, and will be expected to regularly collaborate with the Communications Team, and will understand the role of communications in shaping the political agenda and the public debate. You will have experience of writing for a wide range of audiences, ranging from policy briefings to social media content.

This role supports the delivery of high-quality public affairs work, following agreed plans, templates and processes, and escalating risks or issues promptly.

We’re interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong organisational skills, with experience of either leading or supporting the coordination and delivery of events. We’d particularly like to hear from candidates who have managed a CRM database such as Salesforce. You will be a strong team player, with a collaborative working style.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Heads of Policy and Communications teams to contribute to public affairs plans by providing research, coordination and administrative support from the outset of each project
• Monitor and analyse political, policy developments and parliamentary activity, keeping your knowledge up to data and accurate, ensuring information is recorded using agreed templates and systems, and flagging relevant updates promptly
• Support the coordination of stakeholder engagement, including preparing briefings, organising meetings and maintaining accurate CRM records

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day to day finances of the charity

Southall Black Sisters (SBS) is seeking a Strategic Caseworker to help turn the lived realities of Black, minoritised, and migrant women into systemic change.

Rather than providing direct advocacy, this role focuses on working closely with the Communications, Policy & Strategic Litigation Manager and the Advocacy Team to identify patterns of injustice from SBS’s casework, develop evidence-based challenges, and support legal, policy, and campaigning interventions. In some cases, this work may lead to strategic litigation aimed at challenging systemic failings and discriminatory policies.

The postholder will play a key role in tackling institutional racism, discriminatory immigration policies, and systemic failures in the protection of women facing violence and abuse.

You will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Managing Director (MD); editing and disseminating organisational materials for internal and external audiences; support preparation of Board of Trustee and Executive Team reports and meetings, and minute meetings; represent Afghanaid in coordination meetings. • Coordinate the MD’s daily diary, screen email, draft correspondence and prepare documents for meetings and professional appointments.  

• Provide preparatory materials and coordinate the MD’s external representation and fundraising engagements, draft talking points and speeches, visual presentation and workshop materials.

• Coordinate and support drafting of internal quarterly reports and other Executive Team reports, as well as the external Annual Report, and ensure appropriate distribution; edit other organisational strategic and operational documents as required.
