The Benefits Service within South East London Mind is a well-established offer of support to clients who need to access welfare benefits they are entitled to receive. The service currently provides casework support for people who need to challenge benefits decisions across the three boroughs of Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich. There is also a cross-area team of volunteers who assist with form filling and all aspects of the assessment process.

We are looking for a Benefits Service Manager with significant experience of working within welfare benefits. You will have a good understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems and the links with welfare issues. You will take responsibility for the quality of support the team deliver to ensure it is robust and accountable. We hope to be able to extend our offer of support in the future so it will be important you have an interest in developing the service.

Applicants should have previous experience of thinking strategically to develop a service and of managing a team to deliver the support. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

We are looking for a Survivor Engagement Officer to join our team and help strengthen the meaningful involvement of victim-survivors in all aspects of SEA’s work.

About the role

We are looking for a Survivor Engagement Officer to join our team and help strengthen the meaningful involvement of victim-survivors in all aspects of SEA’s work. 

A core part of this role is building and sustaining trusted relationships with by-and-for and community-led organisations to support outreach, engagement, and the inclusive recruitment of survivors from Black and minoritised communities and other marginalised groups. We are particularly keen to receive applications from Black and minoritised women, and/or applicants with strong experience working with these communities.

You will also support the coordination and facilitation of SEA’s Experts by Experience Group (EEG), moderate our online Survivor Forum, and contribute to delivering our Survivor Engagement Strategy. You will help ensure that survivor voices - especially those from underrepresented communities - shape our services, policy and communications work. 

You would be joining SEA at an exciting time, as we strengthen our approaches to inclusive survivor engagement and implement a new strategy to widen participation and reach.

About you

You will be a skilled relationship-builder with strong experience of working with Black and minoritised communities and/or community-led organisations.

You will have excellent communication and facilitation skills, and experience supporting or engaging survivors and/or marginalised groups in a trauma-informed and inclusive way. 

You will bring a strong understanding of anti-discriminatory and survivor-centred practice, and a commitment to widening participation in systems change work. 

Experience supporting collaborative engagement projects or survivor groups would be desirable, as would experience moderating online spaces or forums.

Job purpose:

The External Affairs Manager will work closely with the Director and provide vital support to NACCOM and its members by: 

• Ensuring the strategic planning, management and alignment of communications, policy, research, campaigns, and advocacy as part of the External Affairs function at NACCOM. 

• Ensuring NACCOM’s external affairs functions feed from and into our network development work and our Community Ambassador / Research programme 

• Growing and safeguarding NACCOM’s brand identity, integrity and strategic positioning across all our external channels, networks and audiences. 

• Line-managing and supporting the Policy and Research Co-ordinator, Community Research Facilitator and part-time Communications Co-ordinator (currently covered by a freelancer) as well as managing any external consultants NACCOM works with across the External Affairs function.

Age UK Richmond upon Thames is a local independent charity supporting older people across the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. We provide a wide range of useful and well utilised local services in Richmond upon Thames designed to improve wellbeing and enhance independence – including information & advice; a wide range of social & wellbeing centres and sessions; support after hospital discharge; digital skills development; Dementia Friendly Richmond; mental health peer support and home services such as handyperson, housekeeping and gardening. Our friendly and committed team of 50 staff and 100+ volunteers support over 4,000 local older people each year.

We currently have an excellent administrator opportunity for flexible and proactive individual to join our Nightingale Home from Hospital service, which provides much needed free support to local older people who have been discharged from hospital or become unwell in the community – with a particular emphasis on those living alone and without family support. 

Our small team of team & volunteers are  involved in organising and delivering tasks which facilitate a speedy hospital discharge and make homes safer to avoid admission – including fitting keysafes, moving furniture, shopping, giving advice and coordinating with health & social teams. 

This busy role will include:

- Taking referrals into the service and adding to the CRM / database.

- Updating CRM / database and gathering information for the team to support clients.

- Coordinating Nightingale staff and volunteers to ensure tasks essential for a safe discharge are complete.

- Ensure the individual receives the support/services they need taking a holistic approach – working and communicating with staff, referrers, clients, family members, carers, social workers, hospitals and other Age UK Richmond and voluntary sector services.

The role of Community Hospice at Home Senior Staff Nurse/Paramedic is to provide high quality specialist palliative nursing care, skills, advice and support to patients, carers and those important to the patient. This role will support the delivery of planned and unplanned care across Rennie Grove Peace Hospice.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Actively participate in the development of the organisations planned and unplanned community Hospice at Home model of care.
• To work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide a high standard of individualised patient/family care and support.
• To be responsible for those patients allocated on a daily basis.
• To ensure that excellent standards of support and clinical practice and care are achieved.
• Deliver specialist palliative nursing care to patients requiring planned and unplanned care. This will include a multi-disciplinary approach for our higher acuity patients with daily virtual and in-person reviews in their homes.
• To work with wider Hospice team as well as system partners to support delivery of care and enable patients to remain in their preferred place of care.
• Improve patient outcomes and experience by providing physical and emotional support to patients, coordinating their care services.
• Participate in activities such as audits and case reviews in order to improve the Hospice at Home service.
• Acting as a Rennie Grove Peace ambassador within the community.
• Work across Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care geographical area (as required) to support safe and effective service delivery.

We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible candidates to train and support young people to travel specified journeys safely and independently using public transport.

Overall Job Purpose

To train and support a young person to travel a specified journey safely and independently using public transport.  Record your observations and give feedback to the travel training coordinator, the young person and their family.  To take part in reviews of training as it progresses.

Working Conditions

• Casual working assignment with no minimum hours guaranteed

• Each assignment must be mutually agreed by both parties

• You will be expected to work mornings and/or evenings as required by the job and we will also consider job sharing for this role.

Responsibilities

• Support a young person door-to-door as they travel on public transport.
• Familiarise yourself with the following documents –

1. Journey Plan – describes the route you and the trainee will follow, and the alternative route(s) if the need arises. 
2. Risk Assessment – outlines the support needs of the trainee, and risks and strategies to mitigate them.

• Record your observations using standardised forms and relay your observations to the travel training coordinator on a weekly basis.
• Allow the young person to learn independently and only guide, support or intervene when necessary (this will be included in your induction)
• Approach travel training in a positive manner by reinforcing achievements and viewing obstacles as opportunities to learn.  Discuss strategies and agree solutions with the young person, their family and the travel training coordinator.
• To contact the travel training coordinator immediately if there are any emergencies or unexpected situations.
• Ensure that the young person is trained to use the alternative route safely and independently.
• Ensure that the young person learns and/or knows how to contact parents or carers in case of an emergency
• Any issues or concerns must be raised with the travel training coordinator or the business development manager.

Age UK Bromley & Greenwich is seeking a proactive and compassionate Care Navigation Coordinator to lead a small team supporting older people as they transition from hospital back to the community. Based at the ICN Unit at Orpington Hospital, you will work closely with NHS colleagues and local services to ensure people on the Proactive and Frailty pathways receive the non-medical support they need to stay independent and well.

This is a varied and people-centred role, combining direct patient contact with service coordination and staff supervision. Engagement and Support Team Lead

The Opportunity

Centre 33 is an ambitious and growing charity based across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. We offer a range of high-quality services to young people aged up to 25, including information and support on a “drop in” basis, mental health services, counselling, housing and financial advice, sexual health support and support for young carers.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join our established ‘’Someone To Talk To’ service in a newly created role of ‘Team Lead (Engagement and Support)’. We are looking for a highly motivated and committed professional to work alongside other Team Leads to lead and oversee STTT service delivery across Centre 33 hubs in our South Locality (Cambridge/South Cambs/Ely).

Team Leads will work closely with one another and Heads of Service to jointly ensure the multidisciplinary teams deliver excellent, safe, impactful and responsive services to young people. Successful candidates will bring strong expertise and leadership to the Centre 33 practical and holistic support offer for young people aged 13-25 years and understand how this fits within the context of the wider support systems locally. They will have demonstrable experience of working within a practical support or youth work role and feel confident to support and manage colleagues delivering safe and effective work with a caseload of young people who access our drop in support and ongoing support offer. They will be responsible for providing support with case allocation, reflective practice, risk management and Safeguarding. They will develop strong relationships with local organisations to ensure effective joint working and support for young people. They will retain a small caseload to support YP with more complex needs. The Team Lead will provide day to day designated Safeguarding leadership across the locality team, supported by the Head of Service and Director of Services.

OPERATIONS AND FINANCE OFFICER, POLITICAL STUDIES ASSOCIATION (PSA)

If so, join St Giles as an Embedded Mentor, where you will work within education settings to deliver the St Giles SOS+ service as part of the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) Trusted Adult Project.  You will play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable and at-risk young people overcome challenges, set and achieve academic and personal goals, and make informed positive choices that reduce their risk of offending and entry into the criminal justice system.

About this key role

As well as focusing on the delivery of the SOS+ Embedded Mentor Programme to targeted at risk students, our successful candidate will establish and maintain positive relationships with students to provide emotional support, guidance, and mentorship.  You will be expected to address individual student needs and challenges, utilising personal experiences, local knowledge, professional skills and SOS+ materials to offer support and intervention and to assist students in setting and achieving academic, personal, and career goals.

We will also rely on you to collaborate with professionals to support and develop strategies to minimise the risk to students and to maintain a trauma informed approach, that recognises and responds to trauma and amplifies the voices and experiences students, while also developing positive, pro-social attitudes, behaviour and social skills among students.  Maintaining open and effective communication with mentees, professionals, parents/carers and partners and maintaining accurate records of student interactions, progress, and outcomes in line with delivery SOS+ protocols are also key aspects of the role.
