About the role
We are seeking a technically capable, qualified accountant with strong knowledge of the Charities SORP to provide effective stewardship and oversight of the Finance function at Kinship. You will be responsible for financial controls, management accounting and ensuring the effective delivery of ‘business as usual’ financial management.
As well as producing monthly management accounts, you will be responsible for running the annual budget and the year-end processes, preparing for the yearly external audit and ensuring that the organisation complies with statutory obligations.
You will prepare papers for and attend the quarterly Finance Committee meetings and will liaise with a range of stakeholders including auditors, the bank and investment managers. You will be the ‘go to’ business partner at the charity, supported by the Chief Operating Officer and Fractional Chief Financial Officer.
You will manage a team of two colleagues – a Senior Finance Officer and a Payroll Manager – providing them with guidance, coaching and support to enable them to perform effectively. You will also collaborate and work with Directors and senior managers across the organisation to inform them on performance against budget and conditions of funding, as well as supporting fundraising and commissioning bids.
You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to organise conflicting priorities around the monthly management accounts cycle, while supporting the achievement of our strategic objectives. You will be flexible and adaptable in your approach to supporting transformational change in our processes and systems, as well as dealing with, and leading on, the day-to-day financial management.
This is a broad and challenging role for a dynamic and systems-driven individual who wants to grow within the organisation, proactively problem solve and help colleagues to deliver on our mission.
Essential requirements include:
- Fully qualified ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles, standards and the Charities SORP, and experience of applying these in a service delivery organisation
- Experience managing a Finance function in a charity with £1-10m annual turnover
- Experience of line management and developing a team using approaches that are empowering
- Experience of Business Central, or the ability to quickly learn a new accounting system
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to use Pivot Tables and other functions to analyse large data sets

About Woman's Trust
Woman’s Trust was established almost thirty years ago and is the leading specialist in mental health services for women. About the role
As our Temporary Finance Manager, you will be managing a finance assistant and will be part of our organisation’s Senior Leadership Team, helping to collaboratively shape and steer the charity as we work towards our 2022-2027 strategy. The Finance Manager is at the heart of Woman’s Trust; you will play an essential role and have oversight of not just the finance team - you will have direct exposure to CEO/Board Members and decision-making for the future of the organisation.

The Role
The Supporter Experience Assistant is the first point of contact for supporters and administration tasks. Offering a high level of support, guidance, stewardship to supporters whilst implementing the operational delivery of all departmental transactional requirements related to the delivery of their fundraising and retail activities.
This is a pivotal role in ensuring supporter care and administrative excellence is achieved and maintained in an accurate and timely manner and that all queries are responded to quickly and consistently. Working collaboratively with colleagues from various departments including the finance team the Supporter Experience Assistant will undertake a team proactive approach to all aspects of delivery and immediately identify any potential risks and issues which will jeopardise supporter care and administrative excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a main point of contact in relation to supporter queries and administration tasks, reacting to all incoming queries in a positive and proactive manner.
- Assess supporter needs and offer help and support to minimising the need for multiple point of contact.
- Accurate and timely recording of donations and donor details on their supporter database.

- Effectively manage all data inputting, administrative and supporter care tasks within the department including maintaining accurate records of donor details and donations made, both digitally and paper based to ensure consistency and accuracy in a timely manner.

- Assist with the management of all databases/CRM systems to enable accurate reporting measures to be undertaken.

Essential criteria
- Educated to Degree Level or equivalent appropriate work experience
- Evidence of a qualification in Fundraising or Marketing
Desirable criteria
- Membership of Institute of Fundraising
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience of working in Volunteers & Community Fundraising including managing and delivering large projects and events from initiation to completion on own.
- Experience of carrying out risk assessments
- Experience in managing & working with individual volunteers and groups, securing their effort and commitment and maintaining a high level of customer care.
- Sound understanding of charity law, fundraising regulations and best practice relating to sponsorship, donated support, public collections, licensing etc
- Experience of working in a fundraising team and office environment and following procedures accurately without significant direction.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in the NHS
- Experience in developing and delivering marketing plans including charity media relations, social media and digital marketing.
- Experience of setting, managing and reporting on income and expenditure budgets.
- Knowledge & experience of Raisers Edge relationship management database.

- Ability to use storytelling to communicate a compelling case for support in a way that is comprehensible to supporters and volunteers via a range of channels including public speaking, written communications, social media, telephone and face to face conversations.
- Ability and confidence to communicate effectively in sensitive situations, using patience and tact in relations with supporters, general public and press
- Ability to build credibility with senior volunteers, supporters and RUH staff through the use of effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Advanced Keyboard skills, including good Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- An understanding of the Data Protection Act, GDPR and Fundraising regulations and best practice.
- Ability to analysis problems and work around obstacles. Offering a range of appropriate solutions
