The Autism Centre of Excellence exists to improve access to high quality support and remove barriers and stigma for autistic people, but to do this we need to grow our funding.

We aim to raise £5 million over the next five years to increase our reach, impact and activities, whilst creating a sustainable and predictable income stream for the charity. To do this we need to systematically build a pipeline of donors and supporters, to build profile and new relationships. In the short term we need someone who can lead the development of a series of applications to trusts, foundations and other sources of funding to support our priority workstreams.

Main duties and Responsibilities

• Primary focus will be on managing and soliciting income from your own portfolio of high value trusts, foundations and statutory funders, securing gifts of between £10,000 - £1,000,000 to successfully achieve the charity’s ambitious fundraising targets.
• Secondary focus will be on the planning and delivery of first-class Special Events and Major Donor fundraising.
• Create a robust prospect pipeline of effectively researched and qualified funders, ensuring a continued flow of prospects through the pipeline, taking a sales approach to lead generation and the assessment of the warmth and value donors.
• Deliver effective research of prospective and existing donors, which enables us to raise significant income through both new and existing relationships; utilising our networks effectively.
• Implement effective cultivation and stewardship journeys that provides a high-quality supporter experience to your portfolio of donors and prospects.
• Deliver first-class relationship management to ensure excellent ongoing relationships with donors in both a written and face-to-face capacity.
• Deliver exceptional writing skills through proposal and bid writing and day-to-day communication with donors and colleagues.
• Fully understand the charity’s projects and activities to both ascertain their suitability as funding propositions and communicate them in a compelling manner to funders.
• Work closely with operational colleagues to develop compelling and thorough cases for support to inform our research and fundraising strategies.

The role

As Community Engagement Officer you will play a key role in ensuring the Foundation achieves its objectives of engaging with and increasing physical activity levels amongst the four key priority groups facing the greatest inequalities: low socio-economic groups, women and girls, disabled people and people with long term health conditions, and culturally diverse communities. This will predominantly be achieved through the critical support you will provide to our ambitious PlayZones Programme, as we continue to roll the programme out across priority areas of the Country.

We have an ambition to deliver in excess of 200 PlayZone facilities by 2025. To realise this ambition, we’re going to focus on investing in safe, inclusive, and accessible facilities in communities with the greatest need. We will tackle inequalities in physical activity levels and create inclusive opportunities for our priority groups to become active through recreational formats of football and other sports and activities.

With a great deal to do, the role will be pivotal in working with local groups to support them through the application process, and to ensure high quality projects are being developed based on local community need.

The role sits within the Football Foundation’s Delivery Team, the team responsible for strategic identification and capital project delivery, reporting to the Community Engagement Lead and with responsibility for a portfolio of PlayZone programme areas within one of the Delivery Team geographical regions.

You will provide critical support to applicants and work extremely closely with our network of Delivery Managers & Officers to advise and agree community engagement plans for a range of Over £25k projects – helping to ensure their engagement is robust, but that applicants also receive support and guidance as required throughout the development of their application.

Community Engagement Officers will champion the benefits of great engagement, capturing good practice, identifying successful approaches, and share knowledge and learning across the Foundation and other stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to follow football to apply, but it is expected that you appreciate the power of sport to change lives and have a genuine interest in using your skills and experience to help the Foundation achieve our charitable and strategic objectives.

You must be educated to HND/Degree standard, or with the equivalent experience, with knowledge of how sports development can be used for community benefit. You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience of communicating with and supporting a diverse range of colleagues and customers remotely.

Your knowledge of place-based working and how to best reach and engage with local communities will be key for this role, as well as your understanding of the inequalities that exist in supporting active lives across socio economic groups, women & girls, individuals with a disability or a long-term health condition, and culturally diverse communities. You will be aware of and have experience of dealing with the operations and challenges faced by community organisations, charities, and the voluntary sector.

You must be highly organised, with working knowledge of different project management techniques and experience of managing multiple projects at the same time. While not essential, experience of producing robust reports and of using dashboards to monitor the progress of projects would be useful.

Community Fundraising Officer – Temporary Position from May 24 for 6 months (£24-25k)

Remote working with regular travel to the West Midlands and London as required

Why join the UK Sepsis Trust (UKST)? Because there’s an exciting opportunity to work for a significant cause and help build its sustainable future. We’re building our new fundraising team and this temporary role will play an important part in accelerating our ambitious plans to increase annual income during 2024/25.

You will become the fourth member of the Fundraising Team (there are 3 full time staff) and will help to support the fundraising team.

Sepsis is the immune system’s overreaction to an infection or injury. There are over 245,000 cases each year in the UK with approximately 48,000 deaths. UKST aims to reduce preventable deaths from this ‘killer’ condition. We achieve this by:

· Raising awareness

· Supporting those affected by sepsis

· Educating health professionals

· Lobbying political organisations for better sepsis and severe infection care

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver supporter journeys i.e. fundraising resources and stewardship communications to maximise supporter numbers, retention and engagement.

2. Use UKST’s CRM system (Raiser’s Edge) to accurately capture fundraiser information and key data contributing to the improved development and implementation of fundraising processes.

3. Communicate proactively and effectively with team members to pass on all relevant information, deliver excellent supporter care and to maximise fundraising opportunities. 

4. Provide excellent customer service members of the public, either via phone, mail and in person, help to develop Fundraising activity whilst also offering our Support Services where necessary.

5. Represent the charity as and when required in schools, local businesses, and community groups, including speaking at events if – not essential

6. Keep up to date with best practice in fundraising and ensure compliance with the latest legislation and guidelines.

7. Assist in prioritising & managing enquiries about our Community Fundraising Programme via our dedicated inboxes.

8. Work collaboratively with the fundraising team and our Communications and Marketing Team to ensure maximum press and social media coverage is obtained for UKST’s community fundraising activities.

 

Day to day activities will include:

1. Managing an inbox and replying to enquiries in a timely and professional manner

1. Problem solving for fundraisers – finding the optimum way they can achieve their goals

2. Support the Event Team Lead with sending out merchandise

2. Download Giving reports and send thank yous to donors and fundraisers

To be successful in this role you will have:

Why Access Social Care Exists

Everyday millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us, we will all need social care at some point.

We all have a right to hold public bodies to account. But most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 77% drop in community care legal aid cases since 2010 means we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.

Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it.

With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers and barristers ensure fair access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. We are working towards a future where social care is adequately funded, and we all get the support we need.

About the role

This is an exciting time to join our organisation. We have a new strategy and are growing quickly including across our senior leadership team. We have nearly tripled in size and income since we started operating in April 2020 and we anticipate that this strong growth will continue for the duration of our next strategic period. Access Social Care are an organisation of thirty-six people, and this is a new role in the People team coming at a period of growth to drive a thriving charity and help shape its future.

This is a fast-paced role whose emphasis is on policy / process / systems improvement as well as advising colleagues and managers across the organisation regarding all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will work with people at all levels of the organisation supporting the People Director on strategy work streams as the organisation continues to grow and evolve.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all day-to-day HR processes within the employee lifecycle to ensure staff are supported appropriately and legislative responsibilities are fulfilled

The purpose of this job is to contribute to the delivery of Mind's media strategy in Wales.

This includes securing target levels of media coverage and building and maintaining contacts with Welsh and English language journalists across national, local and trade media in Wales. Raising Mind Cymru's profile, promoting the work of Mind and the local Mind network in Wales and improving media portrayals and public perceptions of mental health issues.

As Senior Media and PR Officer (Wales) you will be a part of the Mind Cymru directorate and report to the Head of Communications, Marketing and Media (Wales). You will also work closely with the Mind Media and PR team, in particular the Head of News, in Mind's Social Change directorate.

You will devise and implement media strategies including press releases, celebrity engagement, photo and filming opportunities and digital content for organisational campaigning, policy and profile-raising priorities in Wales. You will also handle reactive enquires on the news desk, provide media support to our network of local Minds and shops and provide support with reputational risk issues.

Healthier Lifestyles Project Officer x 2

We are looking to recruit two additional project officers mainly to help deliver our Live Love Later Life and Healthsmart services whilst providing organisational and administrative support to help these run smoothly.

An exercise qualification and experience of delivering health checks are highly desirable. However, if you do not hold these qualifications you will need to undergo a chair-based exercise qualification and blood pressure training. Applicants need to be willing to undergo this training. They also need to have the confidence and enthusiasm to deliver exercise to groups of older people whilst motivating participants that may have a variety of physical and cognitive challenges. These attributes will be assessed through a task during the interview process.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our senior management team as an Operations Manager. This role offers 3 days employment per week. The Operations Manager is an internally focused role that ensures the advertised service is delivered. ROLE PURPOSE

This position involves identifying and prioritising potential donors capable of making significant contributions to help us deliver a range of projects aimed at enhancing the student experience and supporting the local community. By providing the Development and Fundraising Team with tailored and insightful research, this role will enhance the prospect funding pipeline and facilitate the cultivation of a diverse pools of donors, including individuals, grant-making trusts, and companies. This role will also manage a well-structured stewardship program for donors. Responsibilities include promptly acknowledging donations, creating personalised impact reports, and overseeing bi-annual events which recognise and celebrate their support.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

· To maintain and develop the University’s database of fundraising prospects through proactive identification, analysis, and segmentation, (individual and aggregate) record updating, and original research, including the identification of new prospects.

·  To prepare prospect profiles (which may include wealth ratings), and work with relationship managers to devise appropriate tailored cultivation and solicitation plans, enabling appropriately targeted fundraising asks.

·  To develop and manage reporting in the database across fundraising portfolios to help ensure prospects are strategically moving along the prospect pipeline towards major gift solicitation • To produce and provide due-diligence reports on prospective donors as part of the University’s gift acceptance procedures.

· To deliver an annual donor recognition event to acknowledge and celebrate the support of the University’s most generous supporters.

· To organise smaller bespoke events for higher level donors to the university, for example, site visits to project sites and/or opportunities to meet student beneficiaries.

CONTEXT

The primary purpose of the Development team is to secure philanthropic income to support the delivery of the University’s Being Westminster 2022-2029 strategy. The team also works closely with the Business Engagement Directorate to deliver an integrated approach to the University’s relationships with its key external stakeholders. Job Summary

To take the lead in ensuring that appropriate arrangements for keeping children, young people and adults at risk of harm safe are actioned at MHI as part of a Designated Safeguarding team covering the Shout platform 24/7. The role is responsible for promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people on our platform, being a consistent and reliable presence on the Shout platform, and advising Shout Supervisors on safeguarding actions and practise while raising and recording safeguarding issues as they arise. 

Key Responsibilities

• To act as an MHI Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer.
• Contribute to developing and reviewing MHI’s safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
• Alongside the DSL/Safeguarding Manager, contribute to ensuring that everyone working or volunteering with or for children and young people at MHI, including the board of trustees, understands the safeguarding and child protection policy and procedures and knows what to do if they have concerns about a child’s welfare
• Take a lead role in implementing MHI’s safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures: ensuring all safeguarding and child protection issues concerning children and young people who take part in MHI’s activities are responded to appropriately
• Take the lead on responding to information that may constitute a child protection concern, including a concern that an adult involved with MHI may present a risk to children or young people. This includes:
  • assessing and clarifying the information
  • calling in and recording all safeguarding issues as they arise.
  • supporting and responding to staff who raise internal concerns as well as supporting those who make external safeguarding referrals to police or Adult / Children's Services
  • making referrals to statutory organisations as appropriate
  • consulting with and informing the relevant members of the organisation’s management
  • following the organisation’s safeguarding policy and procedures

• Immediately referring cases to the Safeguarding Panel where there is a radicalisation concern

• Liaise with, pass on information to and receive information from statutory child protection agencies such as:
  • the local authority child protection services
  • the police
  • this includes making formal referrals to agencies when necessary.
• Record and retain child protection records according to legal requirements and the organisation’s safeguarding and child protection policy and procedures.
• Work closely with the management committee/board of trustees and Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure they are kept up to date with safeguarding issues and are fully informed of any concerns about organisational safeguarding and child protection practice.
• Contribute to regular reports to MHI’s board of trustees on issues relating to safeguarding and child protection, to ensure that child protection is seen as an ongoing priority issue and that safeguarding and child protection requirements are being followed at all levels of the organisation.
• Be familiar with and work within inter-agency child protection procedures developed by child protection agencies working in partnership with MHI.
• Be familiar with issues relating to child protection and abuse, and keep up to date with new developments in this area.
• Attend regular training in issues relevant to child protection and share knowledge from that training with everyone who works or volunteers with or for children and young people at MHI.
• Attend team meetings, supervision sessions and management meetings as arranged.
• Hold safeguarding workshops and drop-in consultations for the ongoing training and support of MHI clinical and volunteer support staff.
• Work flexibly as may be required and carry out any other reasonable duties.
• Child protection leads must have received relevant safeguarding and child protection training that MHI require and that is specific to their role. This training should be refreshed regularly and they should keep up to date with any changes in safeguarding and child protection legislation and guidance.
