We are seeking a driven and dedicated Lead Community Advice Worker to join our community advocacy and advice service centred on the community that gathers in Gillett Square in Dalston, Hackney. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of people facing complex challenges, including poverty, homelessness, poor mental and physical health, disability, and racism and discrimination.
About Side by Side
Our Side by Side service has developed through several years of outreach on Gillett Square in Dalston. Recognising that many in the community that gathers there face severe disadvantages on multiple levels yet rarely seek support, we set about getting to know people, listening to their stories, and slowly building trust whilst offering practical help, advice and support. Now, our community advice workers are considered part of the community themselves and without hesitation, people refer themselves and their friends, neighbours and families to us for support.
The Role
As our Lead Community Advice Worker, you will provide holistic advice, advocacy, and practical support to people connected to the marginalised and excluded Gillett Square community in Dalston. You will help them access essential services, navigate welfare benefits and housing issues, and challenge decisions they believe are unjust. You will also provide guidance and supervision to one Community Advice Worker. This role involves occasional outreach in Gillett Square and through home visits.
The role is offered on a part-time, 4 day week basis (0.8 FTE) with a salary of £36,050 pro rata per annum.

About the Role
As Assistant Adjudicator (AA), you will work as part of the Adjudication Team, who are responsible for the review and resolution of complex and/or entrenched student complaints.
The Adjudication Team is a collaborative casework environment. Assistant Adjudicators work at pace to see cases through to conclusion by either writing and issuing clear, concise, accurate and well-reasoned decisions (Complaint Outcomes) or by negotiating settlements.
Your cases will typically be complex with a higher level of risk or the potential to have a greater impact on the student, the provider and/or on the organisation. The information and electronic files you work with will typically involve large amounts of written documentation.
You will be expected to provide excellent customer service and as well as progressing cases in a timely way, you will have a targeted number of cases to review and close each month.
About You
You will be skilled at evaluating large amounts of written information as well as exercising your judgment to reach well-reasoned decisions and to resolve complaints. You will have the skills and flexibility to manage a varied and demanding caseload and will be able to clearly and persuasively explain your decision in writing and/or by telephone or video calls.
You will have:
• Honours degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience

- Act as MS Society’s Data Protection Officer, overseeing compliance with data protection laws and regulations, and acting as the key point of contact for regulatory bodies and data subjects

We are looking for the right person to support, develop and coordinate a variety of areas of activity within the Income Generation team.
Key responsibilities:
* Assist with the administration and stewardship of supporters across the various income areas and maintain and improve supporter retention and engagement. Areas to support with will include: Community Fundraising, Trading, Challenge Events, Lottery, Legacies and Major Donors.
* Provide an exemplary stewardship programme for existing supporters whilst also developing new ideas to engage new supporters.
* Utilise the charity database, carry out regular analysis, generate reports as requested, ensure records and folders are accurate and up to date and provide regular feedback to the Head of Income Generation.
* Conduct regular supporter research, as requested, to ensure Retina UK remains innovative with its fundraising activities.
* Support with updating the database and printing letters for the Trusts, Foundations and Corporates proposals, reports and thank you letters.
* Ensure that our webpages are regularly updated with new events, ways of getting involved, photographs, case studies and impact quotes.
* Liaise with venues, supporters, exhibitors and attendees ahead of fundraising events and activities, including our Conferences, Sight Village and key challenge events, including London Marathon.
* Thank supporters in the appropriate manner and update and refresh supporter letter templates quarterly to effectively communicate the value of donor contributions. Mix up our thanking methods – calls, letters, emails – as appropriate.
* Take a proactive approach in guiding supporters and potential fundraisers on how they can be involved with Retina UK. Offer clear advice on fundraising opportunities and ensure incoming enquiries are directed to relevant activities that align with their interests and needs, by staying up to date on our products and ways they get can involved.

The Purpose of the Role
The External Relations (ER) department includes private fundraising, marketing & communications and advocacy. ER’s goal is to mobilize external audiences to raise funding to meet core organization needs deliver programs that support our clients to recover and gain control of their lives; influence policy changes to improve outcomes for our clients; and build and grow our global brand.
The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team plays a vital role in supporting ER to advance our ambitious global strategy. The FP&A team (1) is a strategic finance partner to leadership and ER teams (2) leads revenue modelling and budget development (3) provide insights and analysis to support decision making on funding decisions and critical initiatives. ER’s FP&A team sits within the Business Operations and Analytics unit, the backbone of the ER department which provides best-in-class strategy, financial planning, analytics, and operational support. The Role
Reporting to the Community Fundraising Manager, you be responsible for generating and maximising income related to community supporter led events and initiatives.
The person will:
· Provide excellent stewardship, on-going support and motivation to supporters organising their own ‘in aid of’ Leeds Hospitals Charity fundraising and those taking part in ‘own place’ events.
· Identify, establish, and manage new fundraising volunteer groups who will help support the charity through their own fundraising and contacts including volunteers who will support the community fundraising function.
· Work alongside other fundraising colleagues across the charity to help deliver team income streams (e.g. hospital fundraising, legacies, individual giving, events).
· Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure supporter led events receive adequate PR coverage and are planned into the charity’s communications calendar.
The successful candidate will have:
· Good communication and presentation skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
· Ability to prioritise, plan and organise workload.
· It is desirable, but not essential to have experience of stewarding charity supporters and volunteer fundraising groups or similar.

About the role:
The Social Care IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process, specialising in working with women whose families are involved with Family Children Services and risk to children is a factor. You will work to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. This role is part advocacy, part training/education and project work to improve response to victim/survivors experiencing domestic abuse. You will be embedded in the local authority Family Children Services team, working with Social Care professionals to ensure they adopt a trauma informed approach, can recognise the dynamics of domestic abuse and are providing more holistic support. You will be the domestic abuse subject matter expert on site, upskilling fellow professionals and acting as a point of contact for any clients experiencing domestic abuse and support requirements from Family Children Services.
The Social Care project was established in 2021 and has been working in partnership with Hammersmith and Fulham Family Children Services, so the IDVAs will inherit strong working relationships and a commitment from all parties to offering more trauma-informed services. The borough has a focus on prioritising and developing good DA work in social care and this is an opportunity to be a major player in institutional change, ensuring that women accessing Family Children services for their children have an improved experience and that the local authorities are leading the way for all survivors engaging with their services.
Advance delivers nationally accredited, quality marked services in Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Brent, Ealing, and across parts of East London. We work within a coordinated partnership response to domestic violence to provide independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people and women’s community services for women who are involved in the criminal justice system, in anti-social behaviour or are at risk of breaking the law.
About You:
You will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse in various areas of need, with particular knowledge on children safeguarding/legislation. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women with child safeguarding, needs, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.
To be successful as the Social Care IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:
You will establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies.Provide high-quality crisis intervention, information, advocacy, and proactive support to women referred to the service, in respect to risk management and safety planning, criminal and civil remedies, housing, health, welfare rights, and children’s legislation.
Your abilities extend to assessing the needs and risks of survivors, carry out short and longer-term risk management, safety planning and support and identify and refer to services appropriate to their needs.Advising women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies and proactively advocate to ensure barriers to accessing support and protection are reduced. You will work as an advocate and educator to raise awareness and upskill professionals within Children Social Care plus work with colleagues to successfully develop and deliver training.

About the Role
You will work with colleagues in the Diocesan Safeguarding Team (DST) to manage safeguarding casework and promote best safeguarding practice across the Diocese.
