Excellent Safeguarding policies, processes and practices are central to the mission and ministry of our large diocese covering South London and East Surrey.  We are seeking a highly experienced safeguarding practitioner, to lead and manage a well-respected team, and ensure that the diocese maintains the highest standards of protection for children and vulnerable adults in accordance with national policy.  

Working in close collaboration with the National Safeguarding Team of the Church of England, support is provided for this role through regular professional supervision provided by the National Safeguarding Team, and encouragement for continuing professional development.

The Head of Safeguarding has operational lead authority within the diocese for the National Safeguarding Standards, leading and overseeing work in these areas, and also plays a full role as a member of the Senior Management Team, in living out our values of transparent accountability, collaborative team working, respect for all, and the effective stewardship of resources.

Main Responsibilities:

To manage the diocesan safeguarding team, offering excellent practitioner expertise and overseeing sound triage, assessment and management of casework, actively liaising with relevant agencies, such as the police, probation services, and local authorities

Leading and coordinating all aspects of safeguarding casework within the Diocese, ensuring that work is completed as required by Safeguarding Codes of Practice, House of Bishop’s Safeguarding Guidance and all other relevant statutory guidance and legal responsibilities. 

Ensure that effective systems are in place for keeping all case files up to date by accurately and consistently recording actions taken on cases using the National Safeguarding Case Management System (MyConcern)

To work with the Diocesan Bishop, senior clergy, the Diocesan Secretary, and other key staff to support, develop and improve the safeguarding practice and culture across the Diocese. 

Leadership, support and advice to the wider diocese including Southwark Cathedral in the development of its safeguarding arrangements, good practice, policy and training.

To ensure that allegations of abuse are appropriately managed, and to actively liaise with relevant agencies, for example, police, probation services, and local authorities, and that support is provided to survivors and victims of abuse.

Complete comprehensive risk assessments and safety plans for individuals who pose a risk in the church context

To advise the diocese on all safeguarding matters ensuring that all advice is in line with the law, government guidance and national policy and guidance from the House of Bishops.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Case worker lead responsibility in cases involving the protection and safeguarding of children and / or adults (essential), with at least some of that experience gained in the statutory safeguarding agencies (desirable). 

Broader leadership and management responsibility and/or influence regarding the development of good safeguarding practice and healthy safeguarding cultures. 

Up-to-date knowledge of research and evidence-based practice models relevant to safeguarding. 

Experience of working with victims, survivors and perpetrators of abuse. 

Working with statutory and non-statutory organisations in managing safeguarding allegations and assessing risk. 

You must have a relevant professional qualification or equivalent extensive experience (for example, social care or criminal justice), with current professional registration where applicable.  

Experience of leadership and management, with an ability to operate at a strategic level, and influence the development of good safeguarding practice and healthy safeguarding cultures is important for this role.

Self-starter able to lead and work independently and with experience of appropriate challenge to senior colleagues.

Your experience of working with survivors of abuse will be important in ensuring that we provide appropriate support and advice for this important area of work.

The Head of Safeguarding is not required to be a practising Christian but is expected to  be in sympathy with the ethos  of the church and share our values.

This role is essential to ensure we continue to be an effective, inclusive and people-led organisation. Your role will be vital in making sure Breaking Barriers is and continues to be a great place to work for its staff.

You will deliver day to day HR support to team members and managers, work across the organisation to advise on HR policies and good practice, deliver recruitment processes, and deliver and track Learning & Development. The Minster Centre is a small, friendly organisation and the Reception Manager needs to be an adaptable and flexible person who enjoys teamwork within a continuously evolving environment. Background

The Minster Centre is a registered charity based in Queens Park, London NW6 that trains psychotherapists and counsellors and provides an accessible therapy service. As an accredited higher education organisation, we provide in-person and online courses throughout the week and weekend. The Minster Centre provides a psychotherapy and counselling service to the local community and has a number of rooms that are hired out for therapy, training, and events.

The Reception Manager is a critical and central role at The Minster Centre, providing a welcoming service to students, room hirers, therapy clients and staff members that is efficient and aligned with The Minster Centre’s Ethos. As part of this role, you will provide first-line support to tutors and students as well as undertake administrative duties crucial to the running of the Centre. You will also provide support to other staff members where appropriate.

Job summary

The ideal candidate will have previous administration and front of house experience to help ensure that all building users (students, room hirers and clients) are welcomed, that the building is available and set up for training and therapy services, and that the building is closed and secured at the end of the day. Furthermore, they would be organised, have excellent IT skills and knowledge and, ideally, practice of using Zoom. They will have the ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure. In addition, they will be able to work autonomously on various tasks and work well in a team. This is a great opportunity for someone with relevant transferable skills to develop those skills further.

Duties and responsibilities

Oversee and manage the Reception Team

• Ensure Reception is always covered by organising a reception rota that covers absence, holidays, etc.

General management of Reception

• Receive and welcome visitors.
• Co-ordinate access to the building, opening and closing of the building.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Order stationary and other supplies as requested.
• Manage petty cash.
• Keep the reception area tidy.
• Ensure there are adequate supplies of daily refreshments and organise catering for specific events.

Event and training support

• Set up for events and assist with special or evening events when requested.
• Organise and keep track of First Aid and Fire Marshal trainings.

Administration

• Manage the room booking system, including the processing of invoice figures in communication with Finance Assistant/Credit Controller.
• Deal with room booking enquiries and bookings for events.
• Answer, screen, and forward incoming telephone calls, and provide basic information when needed.
• Undertake data entry tasks, or similar, in quiet periods.

Facilities

• Support tutors and office staff with basic Office apps, Moodle, Zoom queries (support and training can be provided).
• Provide IT support for tutors facilitating Zoom teaching sessions including troubleshooting.
• Manage tutor Zoom accounts.
• Schedule Zoom sessions.

Student support and progression 

• Ensure that students are enrolled on courses and set up on systems accurately.
• Manage the re-enrolment process between academic years. 
• Oversee the recording of student progression. 
• Liaise with and support the Operations Team in organising the annual Graduation event and ensuring all eligible students receive timely information.

This is a key role within the small, dynamic Foundation team: it plays a core part in delivering the grants programme that lies at the heart of the purpose of the Garfield Weston Foundation.  The role spans all parts of the grants function, including advising applicants, assessing and evaluating applications, and preparing reports for decisions on funding. A target driven approach is required for the role to manage the pipeline of applications, and there are opportunities to contribute to special projects and initiatives as they arise.  You will report to the Senior Grants Manager and to the Deputy Director on certain specified activities.

• Delivering support to people who are experiencing homelessness and are rough sleeping in the borough of Tower Hamlets.

Essential Responsibilities 

• Develop and implement ongoing strategies for Humane World for Animals’ growth in private philanthropy amongst wealth advisors, individuals and DAF managers in the UK, ensuring a strong ROI and including setting appropriate KPIs to monitor progress and measure success. 
• Align the UK DAF strategy with the broader high net worth engagement strategy , collaborating with colleagues to maximise impact. 
• Build Humane World for Animals’ UK DAF portfolio: identify, cultivate, solicit and deliver significant relationships and partnerships with wealth advisors and DAF managers. 
• Conduct outreach to wealth advisors outside the Humane World for Animals network who may not yet be familiar with our work and raising our profile with this specific audience, including via networking and events opportunities. 
• Formulate and implement individual strategies for developing key DAF partnerships and initiatives around programmatic priorities, mobilising necessary internal and external resources to ensure all partnerships are effectively executed and partners’ needs are fully met. Includes proposal development work. 
• Act as an internal expert on the DAF landscape within the UK, bringing this to bear when developing proposals and ideas with programmatic staff. 
• Contribute to internal collaboration on breakthrough solutions that can deliver social impact at scale for complex philanthropic relationships which span a variety of mechanisms of giving. 
• Partner across revenue streams (including corporate partnerships, foundations, and major gifts) to maximise and leverage fundraising opportunities. 
• Lead on our high net worth income from individuals;  identify, cultivate, solicit and deliver significant relationships. 
• Develop working relationships with program staff in order to identify funding opportunities and access program information that can be used to cultivate and steward wealth advisors. 
• Stay abreast of key issues and trends in the international aid and wealth advisor community. 
• Use our CRM (ROI Solutions) to track all DAF activity and revenue and activity projection in line with our data protection and privacy policies. 
• Effectively represent Humane World for Animals to external audiences for both fundraising and profile elevation.

OVERALL, PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the Night and Weekend Manager role is to ensure the effective management and operation of MPMT’s housing projects in Southeast London, focusing on promoting the safety, well-being, and personal development of children and young female residents. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management

• Develop and monitor policies, procedures, and good practices.

• Ensure health and safety procedures are fully implemented, organise regular fire drills, and ensure all emergency procedures are understood.

• Efficiently manage evening, night, and weekend operations at Tressillian Road (TR) and Erlanger Road (ER).

Team Management and Supervision

• Supervise staff in frontline duties.

Resident Support

• Participate in annual safeguarding training for children and adults and act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (Level 3) during on-call and on-site periods.

• Provide emotional and practical support to residents in distress, fostering development and independence.

• Coordinate the organisation of workshops and events, integrating resident suggestions and feedback.

• Maintain contact with residents absent for extended periods without notice and facilitate welcome visits while adhering to GDPR and safeguarding rules.

Service Delivery

• Oversee the quality of support and housing services at TR and ER, maintaining rental accounts, minimising arrears, and managing terms of Licence Agreements.

• Manage complex issues or tenancy breaches.

• Lead control of voids and rent arrears and ensure new residents are effectively inducted.

• Conduct risk assessments for building and fire safety, supervise repairs, and manage reception duties.

• Ensure the completion of necessary training for all team members, including de-escalation, and handle sensitive situations professionally.

Partnership Development

• Cultivate and manage partnerships with local authorities, housing providers, and contractors to support service delivery.

• Develop new partnerships as required, maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Administrative Duties

• Assist with monitoring staff rota, cover arrangements, and update internal MIS systems like INFORM.

• Handle basic rent account management tasks and assist building management at TR and ER when required.

• Ensure management decisions are executed effectively, participating in policy reviews and suggesting improvements.

ROLE PURPOSE

You will be part of a team helping to transform lives by enabling young people to manage their licenses and move towards greater independence within the community. This role requires knowledge of supporting individuals with complex needs using trauma-informed approaches and working in a Psychologically Informed Environment. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

GENUINE OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT

Proportionality: The occupational requirement is a proportionate means of achieving the legitimate aim, as it directly addresses the needs of residents in a way that cannot be achieved through alternative measures, such as reallocating duties or employing male/male presenting staff for this role.

You will play your part in delivering and developing strategic relationships to bring value to our refugee clients and our employment and education programmes.

The successful candidate will have experience managing corporate partner relationships, including making fundraising asks and managing external communication with donors and partners at all levels of seniority. You will deploy your influencing skills and ability to build profitable relationships to great effect as you take a leading role identifying and nurturing future strategic partnerships. An understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility would be advantageous.

The Minster Centre is recruiting for a Registry Manager to oversee all aspects of training and course administration from first enquiry to graduation. Background

The Minster Centre is a registered charity and company and specialist integrative counselling and psychotherapy training provider based in Queens Park, London. We are a leading training provider in the sector and currently have around 400 students attending training courses ranging from open access introductory courses to post-graduate degrees.

Thousands of therapists have trained at the Minster Centre since our inception in 1978 and we have an extensive community. Our courses are accredited by the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy), the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), and some are validated by Middlesex University. We are also registered with the Office for Students.

The Minster Centre Psychotherapy & Counselling Service (MCPCS) also provides a safe, affordable and professional counselling service to people over the age of 18 who are experiencing a range of difficulties. The service is provided by senior trainees who are in the process of completing their therapy training.

Job summary

The Registry Manager supports all aspects of training and course administration from first enquiry to graduation. This includes introductory courses, professional counselling and psychotherapy qualifications, and MA programmes validated by Middlesex University.  Reporting to the responsible Management Committee Lead, the Registry Manager ensures that we deliver efficient and effective services to support admissions, enrolment, university registration, assessment, progression, HESA data returns, awards, and graduation of our students.

The Registry Manager has line management responsibility for the course administrator, leads on course scheduling, managing student data, organising the Bursaries and Hardship Fund (the Minster Centre Fund), supports key committees, monitors academic progress, and ensures accurate information is presented at Assessment Boards. They will balance day-to-day student matters with supporting the team and working to improve administrative systems.

This is a varied role which is critical for the delivery of The Minster Centre’s strategic objectives and charitable aims. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and will have significant relevant experience of administration, ideally within the Higher Education or professional training sectors. A self-motivated person with proven management, communication and interpersonal skills. They will be adaptable, able to work as part of a team, and prioritise a challenging workload.

Main areas of responsibility

The Registry Manager will be responsible for:

Training and course administration

• Organise course scheduling, communicating with various staff during the process, ensuring rooms can be booked and staff contracts are created.
• Oversee and support the Live Assessment scheduling and marking procedures.
• Oversee and support the process for creating student teaching groups.
• Set and disseminate key dates in the academic calendar including term dates annually.
• Be able to identify, contribute to, and action improvements to systems, processes and policies.
• Provide administrative support, including minute taking and any additional administration as required.
• Maintain a Registry Admin Handbook, with regular review and improvement of systems recorded.

Student support and progression

• Ensure that students are enrolled on courses and set up on systems accurately.
• Manage the re-enrolment process between academic years.
• Oversee the recording of student progression.
• Liaise with and support the Operations Team in organising the annual Graduation event and ensuring all eligible students receive timely information.

Reporting

• Co-ordinate and support the accurate information recording and preparation for Assessment Boards and liaise with the External Examiner.
• Oversee and support the various HESA data returns as the liaison Senior Contact and ensure all data is accurate and meets various submission deadlines.
• Provide accurate statistical information to the Management Committee for inclusion in annual reports.

Staff management and stakeholder liaison

• Manage the Course Administrator.
• Work with Admissions, Quality, IT, Finance, Training, and Reception Teams throughout the academic year.
• Attend regular staff meetings and work with other key staff to market courses.
• Conduct annual appraisals.
• Be a key communication link across the staff and student community.
• Work with other key staff to ensure that information is provided accurately to students, staff, and the public via handbooks, Moodle, and the Minster Centre website.
• Liaise with Middlesex University at key points in the year.
